I buy WS always and only 'regular' when I absolutely have to have THAT movie (usually an older one, that I want for the collection). I think in the future all TVs will be Wide-Screen format, at least that's my reasoning for all the DVDs.
If you have a regular TV, I cold definitely understand not wanting to see the 'bars' and the picture is smaller because of it.

WM2006 - mit meinem ganzem Herzen (With all my Heart)
2006 - a year and summer to be remembered. A 'video' I made because I was so happy for the country I was born in and came back to. I hope you enjoy.
(I made this in July 2006 and just felt like sharing with you guys... - we got our NOA2 Today so am very happy)

1) Try not to take their reaction/treatment personally - I know, anytime someone says 'don't take it personally' we take it personally..but - the DMV is notorious for, shall we say, 'not caring' to put it nicely. About anyone. Could say, they are not 'easily impressed'..lol so don't worry everyone gets treated equally bad. Wouldn't surprise me if you went back - this time a different person and got through OK.
Side-Rule: avoid DMV at end of month and beginning of month.
By the way - their web site kind of sucks (no offense to anyone, but sheesh..how about a "Get A Drivers License" link? I tried to find out for you and really could only find snippets here and there.
Some of their requirements I pasted here..
Social Security Verification
Effective May 15, 2002, the Department of Motor Vehicles requires new and renewal driver license and State ID Card applicants to provide a valid social security number or a valid US Citizenship and Immigration Services I-94 document (in a valid foreign passport). If the applicant is unable to do so the driver license or State ID Card is denied.
How would they have known anything if they didn't look at it is beyond me. Hopefully a fellow Nebraskan can shed more light for you..

In Germany - and possible in your/other country(ies) - you can request a new one (from wherever you do that in your country) and request an international birth certificate - which then doesn't need to be translated. This is what we did for both of us since we're both born in germany - wasn't so much needed for me (the USC) but wanted it for the future.
By the way - I believe you need to use an official translation service, can't just be anyone that knows both languages.

USPS Global Priority - they have an envelope that will fit the documents listed (same size as a regular FedEx envelope) for about 27.00US (From Texas) - 3 to 5 days I think but check with them. They even have a faster one.
If you send it USPS, guess who will deliver it in Germany? you got it..the national german postal service, known here as DHL.
(And in reverse, before you even check, DHL anything and everything back to the us, FedEx and UPS are WAY WAY too expensive in Germany)
