Hi
We have spent the last 6 months waiting for an appointment (green card through US citizen spouse) for an interview at the Embassy in Athens, Greece. NVC insists that the long wait is due to lack of availability. No matter what we do, we don't seem to able to get NVC to look into our case further. We know that the embassy does have availability and we are aware of cases that were behind us and have received appointments. We have also tried contacting the embassy in Athens. No luck there either. Their reply is that NVC does the scheduling.
Any ideas? We have tried lawyers, congressional liaison, calls, emails, contacts. We have talked to NVC supervisors. We have also tried expedite requests both to NVC and the Embassy.
Thank you!!

Hello All. Stuck in Post visa interview processing in Athens. My wife's CR1 petition was conditionally approved and the officer said that in
10-14 days we would have the visa in hand. I assume they meant business days because it has been about 2.5 weeks since the interview. The embassy told us last week that her visa was "pending adjudication" and that they need 10-15 business days to complete the whole process. Any thoughts?Hi
Did you wife get the green card? We have been waiting for an appointment with the Embassy in Athens for 6 months and NVCcontinues to claim that the wait is due to lack of availability in Athens. We were ahead of you and now I see that you were able to get an appointment faster!! We have contacted both NVC and the Embassy multiple times. Our lawyers are starting to give up and we are at a loss. I wonder if we can chat, if you could help us figure out what is going on.
Thank you,
Stella

You'll be fine... I'll be surprised if you don't get an August interview unless you get a checklist.
What do you mean by "checklist"? Still waiting.. CC April 27.

Alas, we still don't have an interview date. Our case became "documentarily qualified" on April 27 and we were told that an interview would be scheduled.
CEAC shows our status as "at NVC." There's nothing that has the phrase "case complete."
I am wondering about others' experience. Did you actually get a "case complete" before receiving an interview appointment?
I am trying to troubleshoot this. Our lawyer seems to think that NVC is causing the delay and not the Athens Embassy. He says they usually have appointments available immediately. So am I not sure what is going on here...
I've called NVC multiple times and they insist that there's nothing wrong/ missing and that we just have to wait...
Thoughts?
Thank you all!!

Is there anyone here who submitted their docs to the NVC without a police clearance and was able to get a CC and just bring it to the interview? We had an issue getting ours and our lawyer wrote a letter explaining and that we would bring it to the interview, but im wondering if anyone had any success in doing this?
Yes, we did that. For Greece, the police sends the clearance to the Embassy. That's actually the only way it can be done and NVC is aware. We got a CC no problem but not an interview yet...

The link is www.ceac.state.gov
type in your case number to check your case status.
I see. Mine says "At NVC." Does this mean that no appointment has been scheduled and so the paperwork is still with NVC? Thank you!!

Now you wait until the USCIS send your petition to the NVC. Usually the online status will be updated to (On (date) we sent Your case receipt no------------------ to the department of state). There has been different times frames for when the USCIS send the petition to the NVC. some was sent within a week, and some waited for a month. It depends on the service center and when they send mail out in patches.
Once you get updates it was sent to the department of state (either online or by calling USCIS), it takes a week and up to 6 weeks for NVC to receive the case and enter it in their system to generate a case number.
Usually, you should start calling NVC a week after the case was sent from the USCIS to see if NVC received it. Once they receive it and have a case number, give them an email so this would be the way of communication which is faster and more secure.
Thanks! This is super helpful!

We finally received the I-130 approval!! Our NoA1 was May 30th and NoA2 Jan 29. (I updated my timeline). Now, do you know how NVC notifies us? Via email or mail? Thank you and best of luck to everyone!

Texas Service Center. NoA1 May 31 and still waiting for 1-130 approval (i.e. NoA2). Any others out there who are still waiting? Would getting a lawyer involved help?

Yes, i130 for spuse , i’m us citizen and live in MA .
Ok so very similar. MA as well. I wonder if they divide up the work geographically and some officers are more backed up than others. Just trying to make sense of things and stay calm...

Same here my priority date is May 31st Texas Service center still haven't heard anything..Smh the wait is killing me.
Is this for an i-130 approval for a IR-1/CR-1 Spouse visa through a spouse who is a citizen? I just want to make sure that our cases are similar. What state does your beneficiary live in? We are filling from MA. I see one more MA that hasn't received responses (plus you from NYC) and i am wondering whether geography plays a role.

PD May 31st, Texas Service Center. Still waiting... Any other May fillers out there that still haven't received NoA2? Any ideas on how and when to act? Does calling customer service help at all put pressure on them?
