  1. Sorry...I guess I am butting in because neither me nor my fiance are from Ecuador...but I don't think going as a single female to a foreign country alone is a good idea. Let me clarify that statement. Going as a single female to visit a male that you've never met in a foreign country ALONE is not a good idea. I can see if she had already met him and knew people who knew this guy...but she has no idea of his character. What happens if she gets over there and he is not a good person??? I don't know but I think it is a bad idea. Unless she knows in her heart that he is who he says he is...if she has no red flags or anything...then MAYBE she should go. I know for me that I had already met my fiance and I knew people who knew him and I knew his character...but even then...when I went down to Nicaragua for a month, I was very nervous because I didn't know his family or anything. I felt so comfortable being there though because I trusted him and I had him to lean on. (I did bring a friend with me who stayed for a week.)I would just be soooo careful if I were her. Sorry for intruding...but it worried me to think of your friend going down to Ecuador alone...alicia

  2. A denied tourist visa means that it was denied at the embassy/consulate where he applied.

A denied entry would mean that he was denied entry at a POE, which would be more serious.

Since your fiance was denied a tourist visa, it does not seem that bad unless if you guys lie. My fiance was also denied a tourist visa about 2 years ago. He intended to get such a visa, so that he could come and visit the U.S. to see me. However, for the same reasons your fiance was denied, my Juan was also denied, he was a young college student, no strong ties to Mexico, etc. However when you file all of the forms, make sure to include all of this information so that it doesn't cause problems and you should be okay. :D

Thanks... We have been upfront and honest so far...I think it's best...So, we will be sure to keep everything in the open. Thanks again.

  3. Yes, praying is always good. Aside from that, you can twiddle your thumbs, whistle, twirl your hair aournd your finger, check your status on the USCIS website 5 times a day, gripe about how slow the process is... Oh, and don't forget to visit VJ every day and read all the posts here, (misery loves company :P).

    True!

  4. In May of 2006 my fiance applied for a tourist visa in Managua, Nicaragua. The US embassy denied him the visa obviously because he is a 23 year old male without strong ties to his country. Will this affect our K-1 process? I have heard some people say that denied entry could cause problems. Was a denied tourist visa the same as denied entry? On the question on the I-129F that asks how we met I explained the following (paraphrased): We met in 2005...waited a year. I tried to get him to meet my parents in the US in 2006 but they denied him the visa so I went to Nicaragua for a month. I was honest and wrote all of that in the explanation of our meeting. Do you think that this could affect our K-1 because of denied entry or is this not denied entry? Thanks...Alicia

  5. Ok...So, of course I'm just like everybody else who wants their case to be reviewed and approved quickly. So, I just wanted to know how long did it take you to get a "touch"?! Does the glitch in California's notification system affect the case updates online? What I mean to say, is it pointless for me to check for a touch if it will never show up? Thanks guys. I feel like I'm going crazy and I know this is just the first leg of the waiting process...Ohh...wow...this is crazy.

  6. Why risk it...

If it really were a viable option I think quite a few more people on these forums would have done it.

So many people come on here asking "HOW FAST CAN I GET MY PETITION DONE?!" And the answer is always "as fast as the rest of us". If there were a shortcut, or a loophole, everyone on these forums would know about it.

Good one! Everybody has to just sit back and "try" to endure the ride!
