    Update from Congressman's office

    """""Hey Aviinashh,

Great news! U.S.C.I.S. has agreed to expedite your EAD petition! This means you will receive a notice shortly on a decision. Once received, it usually takes the actual card 7-10 business days to be delivered. Some employers (I’m unsure about XXXXX) will accept the approval notice as proof of employability.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, or if you do not receive the card/decision in a timely manner, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Thanks!"""""

    Well, waiting game continues...

Congratulations!!!! That’s awesome - so happy for you!!!

I did get a email from USCIS asking me to fax the offer letter and I did it and still nothing. It's been more than a week that i faxed the document. Anyways today is 121st day !!!!

Any progress on your end ?

Nothing since faxing them the evidence :(

I thought I read that they have five days to make a decision on the expedite after getting the evidence???? Or maybe it was just someone else’s experience...

  3. What?! How on earth did I️ miss this very active August filer forum?!

Anyhow, waiting on EAD, expedite was filed last week. Sent them the requested proof... I️ literally check my email all through the night and wee hours of the morning.

Is is anyone else AOS from VWP? Just want to compare timelines/develop conspiracy theories about what’s going on with our cases 🙃.

Congrats on all of the approvals folks!!!

You should have involved your congressman/woman as soon as you crossed 90 days. Anyways go to https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative and enter your zip code and once you see your rep..click on his/her name and then scroll down completely for their contact details.

I am on 108 days and already raised 1 SR and 1 expedite request recently based on a job offer letter. I have also involved the local congressman recently and on Wednesday (Nov 22nd) he has sent in an enquiry and waiting for USCIS to reply him. I guess the reply will come by next monday or tuesday.

Any update on your expedite? I’m in the same boat as you - did an SR at 90 days and did an expedite last week. The we’re quick to respond with the request for evidence but now it’s the 4th day since sending it and nothing from them yet....

So you are doing what? You came to the US and got married than applied for I-485? What are you adjusting from?

Whoops!! I didn’t see this until now! We are adjusting from VWP. I lived in Germany for three years, where I met and dated my now husband. After three months of me being back in the states, he came for what was supposed to be a two week visit followed by a trip with his family to the Philippines. Instead, he canceled his trip, stayed longer and we got married! Now we’re anxiously awaiting our AOS results. The nerve wrecking part of adjusting from VWP is that you cannot appeal if you get denied. 😬😬😬

  6. Oh man, I can only imagine your frustration. I also got an RFE but I only filed in August. Apparently it’s 90-120 days on average right now, add to that an RFE.... I wish I had an answer for you. So after 90 days you requested service on it and they told you to wait another month? Is that correct? From what I’ve read, your case is sort of paused until you respond to the RFE. Did it take you a while to respond? Wishing you well.

  7. Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well.  I just wanted to let you know that my husband decided to do a walk-in Biometrics appointment today and it was quick and easy, only took 15 min.  I don't know if that helps move things along at all (I hope sooo), but he just happened to be passing by it today and figured why not. Just an FYI. Best of wishes to everyone!!

PS. My husband thinks its funny and sort of sweet that when he told me he did that I was like, "OMG - I have to tell the group" lol.

  8. Hello All,

Just getting started in our VJ (planning in filing later this month) but suddenly a wrench has been thrown in the mix. I'll try to make this short:

My fiancé is born and raised in Berlin Germany, German citizen but both of his parents are from Pakistan and got him Pakistani citizenship when he was a child. He's only been there once when he was a baby and doesn't even have a Pakistani passport.

He's supposed to visit me in a couple weeks and requested ESTA visit online and got it. One of the questions asked if he ever had a passport from another country. Because he didn't have the Pakistani passport for many years, he went to the embassy to find out what the passport number for it was so he could put it on the application. I guess this flagged something because about a month later the German version of ICE came banging on his door in the early morning and took him into custody.

He's in trouble because you cannot have both Pakistani and German citizenship (there are many countries that Germany does allow to have dual citizenship but Pakistan is not one of them). Apparently, when he was 23 he should have chosen which citizenship he wanted (I believe that's the current law, I know it changed relatively recently).

Anyway, all will be resolved but he was in custody for 4 days. Now I'm freaking out that this will cause a problem with his visa. I don't think it will cause a problem with his visit (I hope not) but I'm worried that his visa could be denied. It's not a crime of moral turpitude but seems like a big deal especially since they kept him for a few days.

I guess it's kind of a blessing in disguise. Better that we found out about this dual citizenship issue now rather than when his case got forwarded to Frankfurt and it got denied then.

Just wondering if anyone (especially in Germany) had a similar situation. Curious as to wether this will affect the visa process.

    Thanks!
