Please take some time to read through the Ghana portal here...especially the Consulate Reviews. As others have mentioned Ghana is one of the most difficult embassies to get through. It requires a lot more effort and evidence to be successful.

My husband and I had to go through the visa process twice. Our K1 was denied, our CR1 was approved. I made 5 trips in 2 years because time spent together is the absolute best evidence you can submit when going through the Ghana embassy.

Please also look through my review. I listed every piece of evidence I submitted during each phase. You’ll see it was a lot. What some people can submit with their petition is much less than what is needed to submit for Ghana. You need to plan on sending plenty of quality evidence at every phase of the process. The COs there often make up their mind before you even step foot in the embassy for the interview.

Again please do your research. Unfortunately just because your man comes from Ghana, you face a difficult challenge from the beginning.

Ur right! I'll be going to Ghana again in the next 3 weeks to celebrate my bday with him. This will be my 4th trip. And I'll be there for his interview totalling 5 trips. We are currently awaiting our approval.

thank you abies. i have a problem with the sworn affidavits since weve only known each other since last december 2017 and dont have any mutual friends. can her mother or siblings write the affidavits?

U don't need to have mutual friends in order to get  affidavits. Have u express ur feelings towards her to any of it friends? If ur answer is yes, have thkses friends write a letter. The samd goes for her. And also have ur family do the same.

For what it’s worth, an immigration attorney advised me not to submit any proof of money being exchanged between my husband and I. The reason for this is because Ghana is such a high fraud country the CO could view it as 1) I am being used for money or 2) he is paying me to bring him here.

My husband wasn’t put on my bank account or credit cards until he arrived in America. The embassy never questioned it.

Ok, cool we will leave that out.  Him being on my 401k, life insurance and authorized user on my credit card is enough.

  4. Hello again!

So, we received a notification that our case was received June 28, 2018 and will be process at the Nebraska service center.  Regarding evidence of co-mingling of finances, I have seen cases where the CO asked for money wire transfers/ bank statements  between the Petitioner and Beneficiary. My question is:

    1. My husband is the authorized user on my credit card and I am making payments not him. Should my husband make payments as well so the CO can see that we are both making payments and not just me? If we decide to do this should we add it to our evidence for NVC or hold on to it until the CO asked for it during the interview ?

    2. Should we get a saving account in Ghana where we both put in money towards our future? So the CO can  see that we are both doing it together and not just me. Because I currently have a saving account in the States and my husband saving account is in Ghana.

My point is I want to show something where we are both contributing toward when it comes to money. Or it doesn't matter? My fear is, I want to have everything in case the CO ask for it rather then not having it.

    I need help!

I would not recommend including Western Union receipts. I spoke with an attorney before we started the CR1 process. She said for a high fraud country like Ghana you shouldn’t show evidence of money being exchanged between you two...at least not money being exchange regularly. It could imply either the beneficiary is using you for money or he’s paying you to bring him so America.

Wow! Didn't think of that thanks so much.  My husband didn't even like the idea of adding WU receipts. We won't add it.

I think you have great evidence to send in with your petition. Once you’ve send it in, keep up on chats, calls and other evidence if you want to send more to the NVC or even just for the interview. It will make life a lot easier to work on it little by little. Best of luck!

if you need anything, please feel free to message me.

Yes, I'll keep in touch with u during the whole process. In our summary letter (our story), I added that I'll be there for the interview next year. I plan on adding my upcoming trip in October 2018 for our honeymoon/My birthday for other evidence when it goes to the NVC. In addition to call logs, chats, photos of our honeymoon/birthday, and I'll add him as payable upon death to my bank accounts. I'll add everything up n mail it  to the NVC hopefully the next of this year. I'll start collecting these evidence  now!

We plan on having joint accounts in Ghana as well as the states as prove of "joint finainal". We already have a joint "capital one" credit card. I was able to add him as a second authorized user.  I've already filed my 2017 tax as "single" because I wasn't married in 2017 and I sure was married until after I filed. What do I do now?

Here is the thing...I am not sure or positive if anyone can open accounts without having the countries identifier like SS#(as in states). Why exactly did you need that. You guys would have been together a considerable amount of time now. I would just focus on enjoying the company. Just make sure he has all papers of police certificates, birth certificates (yours and his), your financials together, tax papers, put NRA when you print out your returns ( would not apply since you didnt file yet (right?)..So because you just got married 2018...2015,2016, 2017,2018 tax I believe...Proof of visits, stamps in passport and boarding passing etc., pictures labelled (real ones)...Doing the mundane (like ironning clothes etc....

I send my best to you all... Much love and favor
