  1. Hi VJ,

Can anybody confirm exactly what documents I need to bring to my interview?

I have everything from the list that the embassy sent me but i'm unsure of a few things...

Are photocopies of W-2'S and IRS transcripts accepted?

We had a checklist previously, but all this stuff was scanned in several weeks ago.

We had an expedite, and things are moving pretty quickly.

I'm trying to get ahead of the process and have everything inline as I have my medical next week and then I have to schedule my interview.

    Thanks in advance.

    C

  2. Hi VJ,

Just a quick question on whether I'm getting unnecessary delays from NVC or not.(apologies if I posted in the wrong section)

Back in June, NVC sent us a checklist requiring that I bring documents to the interview. One was an error on their part, insisting we had not signed and filled in certain parts on the I-864... we received a call eventually from the reviewing officer on a Saturday and we were informed that this was the case and that all the parts were actually filled out.

The reviewing officer then told us to submit the I-864a for the co-sponsor instead of bringing it to the interview as previously requested. Due to Hurricane Harvey my wife was unable to get it sent off until a few weeks later.

NVC have now told us that our 11 weeks will start all over again from the scan date... I feel as if they are giving us the run around.

We have been at NVC for over 22 weeks now, and they keep requesting documents which we have either already sent or telling us that documents which we have copies of are incomplete when they are clearly complete. The frustration is unbelievable :bonk:

    Any suggestions/advice/comments???

    Thanks - Chris

  3. Thought I would post an update in case its of any help to someone in the future - We had a supervisor call on a Saturday and told us that every thing was fine with our case(after the 6 weeks for supervisor review had expired), but now they have requested we send IRS transcripts for the joint sponsor.

We already submitted W-2's etc... Looking down the barrel of another 11 week wait for document scan in/review.

Definitely getting the run around from NVC now. Loving all this :ranting:

  4. Todays turn of events!

6 weeks and 1 day: I spoke to a supervisor as my Supervisor review has not been completed.

She informed me that on the same day a supervisor requested my case that administrative processing had also been requested... No idea what this means and she couldn't explain.

Apparently that over rides supervisor review though and I now have to wait...Again.

Anybody have words of wisdom, advice? Anything!

    Cheers :(

I had an invalid checklist for court records issue (which doesn't exist since my husband had never been to court...not even for parking tickets).  We kept calling daily and managed to get through to 2 supervisors on two separate days.  Checklist was overturned and we received a case complete within 4 business days.

Try calling from 8-10 AM and between 3-5 PM.  There are different supervisors for morning and evening so hopefully you'll get through to one.  Not sure about sending in duplicates - they might reset your timer by accident since they're not too keen on cutting you slack for their mistakes.  We didn't send anything for fear that they might reset it anyways if we sent anything in.

Hope you get through to someone and get a case complete soon!

Thanks @JessieABC - Spent a long time on hold yesterday evening and got through to a very helpful rep, I usually call when they open at 7Am and they're never much help. I managed to request a call back from a supervisor so fingers crossed!

Yeah, supervisor review can be dangerous. When we were at the NVC stage two years ago, we got stuck there for like eight months or something. You can see it in my profile if you're on the computer. We had to get our Senator involved to get case complete.

If the supervisor review have gone longer than two weeks past current processing times, I suggest involving your Senator.

@mallafri76 - thanks! We tried the Senator route as we were held up also at USCIS, and unfortunately he wasn't much help at all.

Thanks for all the replies guys! :)

6 weeks?  You will be lucky if your case is complete in 11 weeks.  At least that's the length of time it took us to get case complete after getting a checklist (which was resolved with a phone call due to an NVC error).

We received a checklist on Jan 13th for an incorrect birth certificate.  Our attorney immediately called NVC to challenge it.  The NVC said the problem was now resolved............On April 10th, we finally received an email which stated we were in the queue for an interview.

    Good Luck...

Thanks @missileman - we already waited 9 weeks at NVC for initial processing, now another 5 weeks. In total we're already 15 weeks at NVC..

  7. Afternoon All,

After a long and tiresome road with this process(15.5 months so far) we received a checklist stating that:

    • Sponsor had not printed name on I-864A
    • Household member had not signed I-864A

Fortunately - we had made photocopies which showed this to be incorrect, and after a few phone calls we were told all that could be done was a supervisor review. (up to 6 weeks wait).

In the mean time we sent another correct form just in case.

5 weeks (today) down the line and this supervisor review has not been started never mind completed...

Has anybody else had an experience like this? So fed up being stuck at NVC...

    Thanks

*EDIT* Have tried to have the case expedited - was rejected last Thursday!

And have asked to speak to a supervisor several times to no avail

  8. Hi Guys,

Need some advice Please! We got a checklist from NVC requesting sponsor tax info, and for another I184 to be submitted as it "was not signed". We submitted 3 years of tax returns for my co-sponsor (w2's etc) and 2 for my main sponsor - NVC say they got none and that I can bring them to the interview which isn't a problem.

However, they said the I-864 wasn't signed by my co-sponsor (we are 110% positive that it was), and now they are saying submit it again and itll take another 11 weeks to process.

We requested to speak to a supervisor, to which we were told they do not have a supervisor.

Any Advice appreciated.... We've had a rough time with DHS prior to this so its getting disheartening. Thanks!
