  1. Hi everyone,

we we have just been approved for our visa and are planning to move to the states next week. I just wanted to double check that the only required documents to get into the states are the passport, visa and doctors exam. The closed envelope is now digital so it is available at the immigration checkpoint. Is there anything I'm forgetting?

  2. Hi everyone,

I have submitted everything onto the CEAC website and everything has been approved and I have even been scheduled an interview appointment, however today I recieved an email. I think that it is just a reminder but it says to upload the following documents in English and Turkish. Do I need to get my marriage licence birth certificate and national ID translated into English? I never did and everything was approved?  This is part of the email that is confusing.

Please make sure to upload (www.ceac.gov ) the documents listed below and along with the translations (except for the documents in English and Turkish) prior to your interview and bring the originals with you when you come for your interview:

    - National ID Card,

    - Birth Certificate,

    - Marriage Certificate (if applicable),

    - Military Card (if applicable),

    - Divorce Decree (if applicable),

    - Death Certificate (if applicable),

    - Original Police Certificate (Police Certificate from is Iran not required),

  3. Hi everyone,

So on Monday we were informed that our NVC processing has been approved and that they will be getting in contact with the US Embassy in Ankara Turkey to set up an interview date, so we are very excited! I was wondering if anyone has any tips for the interview? What should we take? What kind of questions do they ask? Just a general idea of what to expect. Am I allowed/supposed to go to the interview with my husband? Thanks in advance!

  4. Hello everyone,

So My husband and I have submitted our documents to NVC usning CEAC and we were just informed that his birth certificate was not accepted. We don't have his original birth certificate but we got certified form proving his birth from city hall. CEAC has rejected that and I don't know what else I could upload. Does anyone have any ideas for us? I tried searching the NVC site but saw nothing on this topic.

  5. We just got our case number from NVC and need to pay our fees. Since my husband and I both live and work in Turkey, the money we make after converted to Dollars is very low, so my parents are going to support us. I am very confused, do I need to pay an affidavit of support fee for them as well and if so how do I add them to my NVC log in to do this. I cant do anything until I pay my fees but I don't want to do anything wrong.

  6. So I am a June 2016 I130 filer and we just got our case number from NVC! YAY! Now we have to start the second leg of the process. I have to pay the fees and send my affidavit of support and financial evidence. I live in Turkey with my husband and we really don't make much once it is converted to USD so I was hoping to list my parents as financal support. What should I do? Do I send there information along with mine? We have to file everything electronically is there a step that I am missing?

  7. Hi everyone,

My i130 was recieved on June 2nd and was sent to  the Nebraska processing center, which I hear takes the longest to process, but I keep checking the dates so I hope there is only a month or two left to process. I was wondering what I should be doing in the mean time? I keep hearing that I need evidence of my marriage, what is considered evidence? I want to make sure I send everything so that it is not delayed any longer. Thanks for all your help!

  8. Hello everyone,

I have just recieved an email that my I-130 has been accepted and transferred to the Nebraska division. My paperwork will be mailed to my US address but I am currently in Turkey with my husband. What is the next step I have to take? Is there anything I can prepare now so that I can mail out/apply for the next step right away when I arrive in the states in 2 weeks? Thanks for all the help!

  9. I am currently filling out my I-130 for my husband but I have 2 questions. First I got married in Turkey and took his last name, but in the states I am still under my maiden name. Which last name should I file under? I was leaning towards my maiden name but would it matter if we both have different last names? Also I have been living in Turkey for the last 5 years but I am also listed as living with my famiy back in the states. Which address should I use? Please help!!!!
