Hi there for the Application for Travel document, what do we put in for a travel date if we don't have one yet?

Hi everyone!! I just sent off my AOS package today. Glad to have the ball rolling .... One can only spend so much time lazing around and watching TV 😫
Do we put my maiden name or married name on the applications?

Please let us know. I am curious if this is a valid reason for expedite EAD. If so, I would definitely start looking for a job.
Do we have to put in 2 separate checks one for the $1,140 and one for $85, or do we combine them in one check?

Hi there, so I came here and got married on a fiancé visa. My husband and I now are filling out the Adjustment of status and applicable forms with it. One question we have is of the I-864 (affidavit of support form) for part 6 where it requests for the numbers on the 3 most recent tax forms. What if there is one year missing and what is an acceptable evidence for not filing?
Second does it have to be consecutive years? Or just the the last 3 years that were filed?

Hi everyone so I got approved at the consulate in Montreal on Wednesday. They say it takes two weeks to receive the visa. How long did it actually take for some of you Canadians? Thank you.

Hi everyone! So I had my interview at the Montreal embassy yesterday and they told me I was approved! Yay! I'm just wondering how long does it actually take to receive the visa in the mail? They told me two weeks, is this approximately the right time frame?

Yay!! I just went and picked up my medical results this morning. They tried to deliver to my house yesterday but I was working. I opened the purolator package and there's the envelope inside (the one you don't open) along with a vaccination documentation for my records. So happy that I have that over now to just wait for my interview on July 19th. Nervous but excited!!! 🤗🤞🏻
Nice! I went to the same doctor on June 28th. Did they send you an e-mail with a tracking number to be aware when it would be coming?

I have all the necessary shots the t/dap,mmr I didn't need varicella because I had chicken pox when I was 3 and my doctor signed off on it also I didn't need the flu shot because it's only needed between nov-march. I had my vacs record with me so all my other shots are recorded
I'm having my medical tomorrow in Toronto. I have the tetanus shot the mmr but I don't have the varicella. But I had chicken pox when I was kid, but I don't have a written evidence of that. I had it when all my sibling and I had it. Do you think that would suffice?

So did it just let you schedule finally (and all you had to do was wait)? Just so I know when it's time for me to schedule.
I had to email the website as instructed on a page that showed up when it didn't want to process. They responded to that e-mail really quickly and made my case number ready to schedule.

If you look back in the january thread I believe, there were some girls from canada with the same issue. I think they ended up being able to book the next day (from getting packet 4).
Yes so my issue is resolved, and I've set up an interview for July 19th! :))

If you just got packet 4 from Montreal I've heard it can sometimes take a little bit to be entered in the system. Try again tonight and if not then, tomorrow. I bet you will be able to do it then.
Can I ask how long it took from sending packet 3 to getting packet 4? I am almost at that step.
Yea I received it yesterday. And I checked today, but hasn't changed. Yes I sent packet 3 on June 15 and received packet 4 on June 20.

Hi there, so I'm from Canada and I received packet 4 via e-mail. It has a list of instructions on how to set up an interview with the consulate. I went to the website, to set up an account for it, but it is telling me that "The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment." That doesn't make sense because I did receive a letter from NVC and a letter from the Consulate, and I checked that the information is correctly written. Is there a way to fix this?

i got mine on day 30 but mine came in an email
Did you wait for packet 3 in an e-mail, or did you send packet 3 on your own after your case said ready? Mine says ready and I'm just wondering if I can send the packet 3 email now.

Have you received your noa2?
if so then you should start to look at this https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-IV.pdf this link is packet 3. You will receive this from the embassy in the mail once the nvc sends the approved petition to them. This link and intructions are specifically for Montreal. Even though the beneficary will get this by mail you can print this off and start gathering all the documents listed and fill out the ds-160 online. Once you've gathered everything on the list follow the instructions to email them the completed checklist, confirmation of completed ds-160 and the scanned coloured copy of your passport bio page (the page with your info and picture) to the specified email address they've provided. Once that is complete you wait approx 7 business days and they should email you back with packet 4 instructing you how to pay the fee schedule your medical exam and schedule your interview. You must schedule your interview before your medical. The website they give you to schedule your appointment will also have the options to pay the $265 USD online. Make sure to print off the receipt. Then you pick from the dates and times they have available
I hope this helps!! Let me know if you have more questions!
Does this mean that you went ahead and submitted packet 3 before they sent packet 3? Is it possible to do it ahead?

Did you check on the immigrant visa website? if you did that (and not nonimmigrant) it should be available soon
When NVC sent us our case number via email, it also instructed us to fill DS-160 nonimmigrant visa. So I was able to do that and I have received an application ID for it. But when I search either the casenumber or the application ID, on both the nonimmigrant and immigrant visa options, it either shows as an invalid number or no status.

You do not have to wait for packet 3 to arrive in the mail. You can find the packet 3 for Montreal online. That way you can get everything ready already as well as actually send packet 3 as soon as your case says ready.
Hmmm I thought so. I would assume that the case would have to say ready on the CEAC website. However, my issue is that I have a case number but when I search for it on the CEAC site it isn't available. So I can't check it if it's ready. Is that normal?

Hey there,
it took 13 days for me to receive pkt 3 in the mail from when it left nvc. It said that the embassy had received it 4 days after the nvc sent it.
NVC Left : 2017-04-27 Consulate Received : 2017-05-01 Packet 3 Received : 2017-05-10 Packet 3 Sent : 2017-05-26 Packet 4 Received : 2017-05-30 Interview Date : 2017-07-19
Hmmm interesting. So you didn't receive your packet 3 electronically via email?

Hi everyone!
Just a quick update, I am super excited to say that I can breathe better knowing I have officially booked my medical in Toronto for June 26th and my interview is scheduled for July 19th in Montreal. I'm a little nervous, hoping I have everything I need for both medical and interview. My fiancé just spent the weekend here and will be back in a month to take me to my interview 😊😊 hoping everyone is having some good luck with their process! I'll be doing a review of both the medical and interview once they're finished. Good luck everyone 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤗🙌🏼
How long did it take from when your case left NVC to the consulate contacting you that they received it?

After a long anticipated wait I have finally received my pkt 3 from the Montreal us embassy. I have almost all the documents I need from the checklist. Seems to be happening all so fast now. I really hope everyone will hear their approvals very soon. Good luck today guys!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi I was just wondering about the police certificate. In Ontario, would I just go to a local regional police office and request it there? And is it just for a basic check?
