hi Guys finally, i had my  citizenship interview today  in NJ  at Newark  offfice.

once you get into the building  pass the security check  and   take elevator to the 15th  floor,  security guy will give you direction   to  give  your appoinment letter at  the register ,  so they will  put you on the waiting  line ... i waited about 30 mins  after got called for the interview .

officer only asked passport and green card, he did his computer work  after started to ask questions.

questions were pretty basic and easy.

1-whats the  economical system in the usa

    2-longest river in the usa

    3-Who make laws

4-who is the father of our country

5- who is the chief justice in usa

6- what happened on september 11

    after YES-NO questions

it was soo noisy and loud there  sometimes barely could hear the officer ..

once you done with your interview  they will  give you the  interview result letter N-652 .  so you can see on it  if you are passed .

they will tell you to sit and wait   for the next oath ceremony, this office provides same day oat ceremony  so maximum in 2 hours you will be available  to  take  an  oath and they will hand you the citizenship certificate.

i pray to God whoever is still waiting for  interview gets their interview letter  ASAP  and make it easy for  all of you guys .

    Congratulations

My husbands interview was today. He forgot his mask but luckily I had one in my truck. The kids and I had to stay in the parking lot. It took about 45 mins or so before he came out. He got all of his questions right. The questions were:

What ocean is on the west side of the country?

What are the two major political parties?

What is the President’s political party?

Who was the President during World War I?

    Name two national holidays.

What are the two parts of US Congress?

He said he had to keep asking to repeat the question because they were wearing a mask and he couldn't tell what what they were saying.

After that he had to read something like how many senators represent the US. Then for writing he had to write the answer. He took the Oath of Allegiance and was given the Naturalization certificate and the US flag.

But what confuses us is he was given an appt to come back later today for the ceremony. But everything he describes sounds like he already had it?!

    Congratulations

At this point, i just want to say i am done with waiting on this N400 process. This is so ridiculous .I filed 09/06/2020. passed my process time, put in 2 service requests, no response. the decent thing to do is to give me a call back. THIS IS NEVER ENDING.

We on the same shoes, received a text from USCIS for a call back on Tuesday since Monday is a public for my case inquiry. Hope is positive.

    My questions & solutions:

    1. Did you marry your husband/wife before dec 31?  - if you did you and your spouse could file your taxes jointly in 2018 for your 2017 taxes and you just had to send an extra letter to the irs that you elected to be treated as a resident alien for that 2017 tax year.

    2. If you didn't marry your spouse by the end of  dec 31, 2017 then you don't have to really file your 2017 taxes. Just file your 2018 and 2019 taxes.

    3. You pay taxes for 2017 on or before april 2018. So if you didn't make any solutions for that, make sure to iron that out at least before your interview or the soonest possible time.  Not filling the right taxes can be considered as fraud.

    - i arrived sept 2018. And i married sept 2018. Me and my husband filled mfj (married filled jointly) for 2018 and 2019. You can file mfj even if you don't work or don't work here at all. Cause I don't work and for the 2018 taxes i wrote that letter electing to be a resident alien. Got that info from the tax sub forum in this visajourney forum. Helped a lot. And i never had a problem.

Thanks ... I got married January 2017 but got to the US December 27th. Will definitely work on the 2017 tax return since I didn’t file for it

    hey guys!

Just updating you guys on my case.. today i got a notification from the uscis app on my n400 case. It says that my biometrics was scheduled already. Yay. But i will have to wait for my appointment letter in the mail.

I checked the uscis egov website and it reflected my status there.

Meanwhile i checked just the uscis gov website and it has not been reflected yet there.

Oh and i also wanted to say there was discrepancies on the dates. In my noa1 letter it had sept 8 as the received date and they sent my noa 1 on sept. 16. But on the websites it had sept 15 or 16 listed. A bit odd. But i remember when i was doing my k1 visa and aos too there were some discrepancies between those 2 websites and actual noa 1 and noa 2.

So anyway because those 2 websites show different info... i usually check my case on two websites now just tbe sure.

My case was expedited and consulate called me to inform me of my interview date and to schedule my medical 2 days ago. The consulate also informed me that medicals can come after interview and it’s okay. The hospital sends the results directly to the consulate in Jamaica and not to the applicant. Some countries probably does it differently. So you are wrong - “One can be interviewed without the result of your medicals being ready at the time of your interview” It all depends on your country and the consulate process and of course your particular case. My case proves you wrong and I will let you know how it turns out eventually.

Oops sorry I thought you re from Nigeria . Beatbox of luck

    Interview concluded.

    Visa Approved.

    Lagos Nigeria.

I was scheduled for 6:30am, and I was pretty much done at 9am. Interview lasted about 2 mins.

    Questions asked were:

    Whos filing for you?

    Ans: My Dad.

Tell me about your dad, like what does he do?

How long has he been in the US?

How often do you talk to him?

What medium do you guys use to communicate?

When last was he in Nigeria?

Visa was granted afterwards. No document was checked.

Finally, my 7 year wait is over. Wow

    Thank God.

    Congratulations

No, I meant that I will be having my actual medicals tomorrow Dec 21 not the result. The consulate said it’s okay since it’s still within 7 days before my interview. Remember though,  interview is not dependent on the medicals,  but decision to approve and issue visa will of course depend on the medicals results amongst other things.

Oh okay but why did you wait this time before you schedule your medical: Medicals alone takes 2 weeks before the result is out and without the result to the embassy you can’t be interviewed . So I really don know where you get your information from, anyways I wish you all the best
