Hello everyone, I was renewing my B1/B2 visa on May 2017 through the drop-box service and then I received my passport with a white paper attached to it asking me to show up for an interview. I showed up with all my documents ready and they only asked me to fill out an application, which I later knew that it was the DS-5535, and since them I've been under administrative processing. I sent the passport in May 2017 and the interview was June 20th 2017. The last case updated is August 5th 2017. The embassy is in Cairo, Egypt.

SAO background check it takes from 3 months to 48 months

My friend got his K1 approve from pakistan, took him a week after the interview. I think it all depends on each case. Were you born in jordon? And did you try to get the congressman involved in your case. It goes after once you involve the congressman. They will at least tell you the problems they are facing in approving your case. But I hope Inshallah you will get it sooon. INSHALLAH brother.

Yes bro we both born in jordan and till now we dont speak to the gongressman i think its not gonna help

    Hi Everyone,

this is the only thread I found useful to get answers, I have been looking for answer, Please help me guys,

M Fiance was interviewed on 12th of Feb, the CO wanted the Original Birth Certificate. (the status was on AP)

we sent that in on 15th Feb.

Embassy Received it on 23rd Feb, ( the case status was still on AP)

case updated 28th of Feb (status still in AP)

on 9th of March Case was created and update and STATUS CHANGED FROM AP TO AR.

on 20th March the case was updated and went to AP again from AR. but the case created date remained 9th March.

I am really confused and need some help with what could happen next.

if anyone can give any update I would really Appreciate it.

Hello there, Your case was put under administrative processing with the new extreme vetting process. Did the consul ask you to fill out the supplemental form ds 5535? We are in the same situation, I worked in Iraq for almost 3 years to and my interview was last sep 14,2017. I had everything, complete documents, police clearance in Iraq, my contract my Oec and all but they still put me under SAO (Security Advisory Opinion) we had to go thru this whole process becos we once travelled to a country they considered sponsor of Terrorism so they have to conduct more thorough background and security checks. We have to wait for our clearances from Washington and different agencies in the states. The embassy here cant do anything about our case hanggat wala pa yung clearance natin na yun. Ive been waiting for over 5 months now. Mag 6 months na nga this coming March 14th. Its a very long wait but wala tayo magagawa about it. I know 2 other girls with the same situation like ours din. Theyre Pinay as well. Venus worked in Syria and Bernice worked in Libya. And until now we're all still waiting. Dont worry its very normal, delay nga lang talaga.

Agree with you im in the same they put me in sao before 10 months ago and still waiting till now so good luck all

It sounds to me like they’re just gonna let it die. You could contact your congressman and see if they can make an inquiry about it, or you can cancel the K1 getting ahead of them, go there and get married and file for CR1.

No i dont think so man if they eant it to die they are not shy to send it back to usics but they need time i hope soon inshallah

Their reply literally just told you they don't know how long it will take, so why would you think someone here could tell you how long it will take?

AP has no upper limit; it can take weeks, months, or (rarely) years.

I know dude but before 4 months ago when i make inquire they sent that they are waiting the final approval from the department of state

  9. I make inquire about my case before 2 days ago and the embassy send back this email

    Thank you for your email.
We appreciate your frustration, however, for the visa to be issued we must receive the proper authorization from the Department of State. It is difficult to predict how long it will take the State Department to process any given administrative process. On average, cases take about six months, but we have experienced cases that have taken much longer.

Unfortunately nothing can be done from our side other than waiting for the State Department answer and following up on a regular basis.

As soon as an answer is received we will be in touch.

    Thank you

anyone can hell please how long it will take !!!!

    Anyone knows whats going on??

My interview was on 21st December no 221-g or AP,

CO said i will get the visa in 10 days but still nothing. My IV status changed to NIV and it says “application received” as of 23rd jan.

both update and case creation date are changed to 23rd January. But it’s been more then 2 working days and the status still hasn’t changed uptil now.

This week or next week you will get it inshallah

Hi guys, just read the entire 12 pages here LOL

I'm the American and my fiancee is the Filipina lady.

    K-1 Manila

Interview was around Nov 4th 2017

Case has been "READY" - for interview - Immigrant from the very start and never changed for over 2 months.

    No official 221g.

I had multiple prior petitions so they said "reviewing" our case.

They kept her passport and still have it till now.

As of today Jan 12th, 2018 the case went from READY IV to "Application Received" NIV

Any thoughts on what is next?

How long till AP or Issued?

    Thanks

    Steven

As i know in this 48 she will get it ;))

    update us bro
