People get petitioned for all sorts of skills...I don't think listing them all would be of much practical use here. Figure out what you want to do for a living, then - assuming it is the type of work that is likely to be eligible and you have the necessary requirements in it - find an employer willing to petition for that kind of role. I can't (in good conscious) suggest something specific without knowing if that's what you would enjoy doing for a living. And I'm not going to just throw things at the wall and hope something sticks.

In terms of industries, IT, medical & pharmaceutical, etc. tend to be open and have had success with petitioning people. But again, it depends on what you want to do within that industry.

Thank you for the insightful input.

You are likely to have better luck returning home and going to work for a dompany that sponsors L-1.  For your current type position, your US experience will be of value. L-1s also do not have a lottery.

That's a first. Thank you for that.

It’s not the “name of companies”, it’s the job, I personally know of companies that will sponsor some employees but not others. Quite honestly as a “sales consultant” I think the opinion of your current company is likely to be a general one.

Exactly, that is the case of my company, they will sponsor other positions, not mine. And yes sales consultant is nothing special and I even mentioned that since it doesn't require special abilities my employer won't do it - I understand it all. That wasnt the point of my post, but thank you for your thoughts.

Your title is not your profession. Your profession is the field you work in. Also not to be so discouraging but I don’t think being a sales consultant is gonna make you stand out from the crowd in order to get a greencard. It’s my understanding that the company that sponsors you needs to show to USCIS that you have remarkable skills that no one else does and that they would lose a lot if they were to lose you as an employee.

But like so many others have said this is not a job search website. You need to find that on your own. Just having a degree and holding a job doesn’t qualify you to get a greencard. Once you start the USCIS paperwork process is when you get to come here to ask questions.

I understand the process and all steps needed to get an employment based green card, I even mentioned it on the original post (EB3) and that my position doesn't require special skills or abilities for me to stand out, therefore, my employer won't petition for me because yes, basically anyone could do my job so yes I know simply having a job does not guarantee anything.

Thank you for your thoughts though.

This is not a job search site.  You are on your own findiung an employer.  It is very likely that oncwe you no loger provide favorable tax treatment afforded by the OPT program, you will have a hard time locating an H-1B sponsor.

A US degree NEVER was a guarantee for a way to a green card.  In fact, you promised to return home with your newly gained knowledge and skills.

Thanks but your response was not helpful whatsoever. I am pretty well aware this is not a job search site however my question is related to work visas therefore I will post here to find someone who can shed some light. Thanks.

That is not your profession... Are you an engineer or an administrative clerk?

Not sure I understand you. My title is sales consultant. And I already know my employer can’t sponsor someone on my shoes. I just want to know name of companies in which people have had success being petitioned and consequently became permanent.

So you’re looking for an employer who has a different opinion of your job? Or are you looking for a different job?

Your profile says F1 visa. Is that outdated?

Yes good call it is outdated.

I was on F1 status last year now I only hold my EAD card but it has an expiration date - Reason why I needed an employer who would petition for me in order to stay permanently. So yes I would need a different job, which is the reason for my post.

  8. Does anyone know which companies or which kind of organizations actually petition for employees for permanent full time employment? Aka EB3 visa. Anyone has personal experience with this? It seems to me that not many companies out there do it, and it can vary from job title to position to skills etc. My current employer won’t petition for me because my position does not require special skills or abilities.

    Any insight would be helpful.

    Thanks

  9. I am currently in OPT status until May 2018, when my EAD card expires. My question is can I extend the EAD card expiration date or renew it? I looked it up and looks like you have to file form I-765 again just like you did the first time to get the card and get it approved by USCIS obviously. My concern is that they won't accept it and let me renew it since my OPT period is only a year. Or is it possible by "reapplying"?

    Can someone shed some light?

    Thanks in advance

  10. I did get a letter in the mail but it doesn't say it's been approved it just says the case has been received and is in process. They received it 02/17, exactly a month ago.

  11. I tried calling customer service number too and it said the number is invalid again. What should I do? I am assuming it means it hasn't been mailed, so there's no tracking?which would make sense....

  12. I have requested my AED card and tried tracking it with the receipt # on USCIS website but they couldn't find it, said the # doesn't exist. Does this mean that the card hasn't been processed or sent yet or what?

    Thanks

  13. I don't understand where all that money is for or where it goes. From what I've learned, the employer has to file the I-40 form which costs around $1000. Then what? Whats after that? What about the remaining money?

  14. Hello,
My name is Luciana, I am 22 and I hold a student visa and look forward to getting a EB3 visa for after I graduate, this coming May in order to stay in the country. I am currently looking for jobs and employers who are willing to work the process with me. I am pretty familiar with how the process works but would like to have more in depth explanation. So, here's what I've learned so far: I need an employer who will offer a job letter. What do I do once I get the job offer? I was told that the employers would have to contact my immigration attorney to keep moving forward. However the immigration attorney I had was trying to charge me an insane amount of money $17k for the whole process. I understand that the process is costly however I don't think all that money sounds right at all . The second part of the process is applying for the PERM and once that gets approved I can change my status to resident. Right? And what's next? The green card? Is an immigration attorney really necessary because I know of people who never even needed one.

Can someone guide me through this ?

    Thanks!

Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
