Hi guys. I filed N-400 form based on 3 year married.
I just had my interview today and was recommended for approval. My appointment was at 7:30am. At first, the officer ( a black women) asked me the civic questions. I answered all 6 questions correctly. Then she told me to write what she said " California has the most people". And read a sentence.
After that she went over my application, went through the Yes No questions which is really long.
Then she asked me ALOT of questions about 6 years ago since I first came to the Us. How i met my husband, why I move, how long I have been in school( I was a international student), pla pla pla. I think she suspected something about my case. I got a litter nervous but I tried to answer all of her questions as calm as I can with a smile.
Things were getting difficult because She still said she confused something about my case( i have no idea). And asked me if I have any health insurance. I said yes and show her our join bank statements, phone bills, health insurance bills which had our name on it, car insurance with both names on..she looked at them and added some more questions.
OMG, I thought I was in trouble and she not gonna made a decision on my case. But thanks God she went through everything and congratulations to me that I passed the test and a letter gonna sent in mail about my Oath in the next 3-4 weeks.
Such a relief!!! But still have to wait :((
An advise to those who filed base on 3 year married: be prepared to all question about your relationship with spouse. And bring all evidences with you.
Good luck guys!!Hi guys.
i passed my interview today. We were waiting for 2 hours and the interviewed me lady was kind, nice and tried to make the athmosphere not very official but when she went to YES-NO questions she asked me every single question and looked at my eyes.
He asked me about how I've met my husband, when, where, etc.. everything about my current marriage and my previous marriages and the city where we live... be well prepared guys and remember all details and when you were divorce with your previous spouse.
I even do not remember what were the questions, it was going so fast. Let me try:
- about the cold war
- about the communizm
- about George Washington
- war in 20th century
- how many representatives there are in the HOUSE
i do not remember the last question.
I read and wrote the sentence about Whashington and The White House...
I've seen 2 thick files ( both mine) on IO desk. Then we did have issue to print out the letters. She congrated me and told I am approved. I had to be back in 1,5 hour for my Oath ceremony invitation letter for the ceremony TOMORROW! I felt tired and happy.
Everything was going nicely and you should be totally prepared in any case... I've seen many ppl without any supporting docs in their hand and they looked very upset and left without any letters...
wish you all the best on your way to citizenship. Thank you very much for support all us and shared the info. Could someone please update my dates.
Thank you

Interview passed yesterday. The USCIS officer was an absolute delight. We laughed a lot and she made it all very painless.
Six questions:
What is freedom of religion?
What is the capital of the USA?
Who is the Commander in Chief of the military?
What is the highest court in the land?
What is the name of the Vice President?
How many amendments to the Constitution?
Had to laugh at the 'How many amendments to the Constitution' question. On our three hour drive I kept saying 23 and my wife kept correcting me. Finally I made up a rhyme:
'The amendments are from heaven, that's why there's 27'.
I repeated the rhyme during the interview and got the question right!
I had to read out 'Who can vote'? and then write 'Citizens can vote'.
She asked if I had any questions. I mentioned that my wife's interview had been rearranged for two weeks later and she was kind enough to interview her immediately after mine.
The Montgomery office has only been open since June 2017 but they have fabulous staff. Everyone was really happy and upbeat.
Ceremony should be February 23rd.
Congratulations! That's great! Thank you for sharing the details with us!

Sure thing - just didn't have a computer handy yesterday...
Questions - as many of them as I can remember... What does the cabinet do, How many years do we elect Senators for, How many supreme court justices, Who becomes president if netierh president or vice-president can serve. I can't recall what the last two were, but I did notice that all of them were pre-selected and printed out. I did have to read 'What month do we celebrate Columbus day' and write 'We celebrate Columbus day in October'.
Beyond that, it was a simple matter of going through the questions on the application, and she wanted to see my passports - I had one expired one and the current one with me, but since most of my trips were to europe, as an EU citizen, I don't get stamps there, so they are pretty much empty other than US entry stamps.
I was asked about trips out of the country, where all I could state directly was that I had attached a full listing, and beyond that I could only state that I had gone to Europe roughly once a year except for 2016, where I did three trips out there - all to visit my mother who lived in France.
For the entire experience, I had a 2:45 appointment, and got to the office at about 2:15. Took few minutes to go through security (winter in Buffalo - coats, scarves etc), then they had a hard time scanning a fingerprint at the reception desk. Got called up about 30 seconds of having sat down at right around 2:25, with the IO stating that she had a no-show so she was well ahead of schedule. We were out of the office with everything taken care of by 2:45-2:50, with an Oath notice in hand...
There was only a slight bit of back and forth questioning when asked about military/militia service - I have served in the Finnish Army as standard conscription, so going through those questions was nothing more than stating that yes, I have served and I have had military weapons training. The question was about a militia, which was specifically relating to a non-national army militia, so the correct answer there was no.
I was also asked about tickets and the like, and she simply asked what the traffic ticket fines were, and since they were under $500, she didn't care.
Quick, easy, done.
Thank you very much @jkstark! Happy New 2018 Year!

Let's hope this week brings us good news of interviews!
I wish you guys to get your interview letters as soon as possible. I did get mine dated Nov 29 and scheduled on Jan 11, almost 1,5 month ahead. The other Feb, April filers got their letters later for the earlier interview dates. Might be it depends on either FO and IO schedulers both. Anyway I am pretty sure you will get your Christmas presents ( letters) soon. As me I am better after my surgery and will start my preparations next week.
Do you know guys where I can get all info about my speed tickets, I paid them all of course but do not have the info about the first one in 2014. Not sure where to get it. Thank you for you help.
God bless us.

IN my interview that was actually the very last question.
Any tickets in the last 5 years.
I told him about 20 years ago, he said good.
I acted according the instruction how to fill out N400 form but I will mention about it for sure! Of course we are not going to lie. The interview is going for the purpose to get all stuff done very well....
have a nice weekend and lets see... I started to study the civics...

I hope you're right and I get my interview next week. In regards to your question I think it is always better to tell the truth. If I were you, I would let them know about the speeding ticket. Never lie. I am not an attorney or expert, that is just my personal opinion.
You are totally right.. anyway we have the opportunity to add or change ( fully disclosed) our application form N400 during the interview...

Get well soon!
Thank you so much @sunshinestate2013. I really need it...
yesterday one more Floridian March filer (Orlando FO) got his change of status turned on " Interview is scheduled". I am pretty sure you will get yours within a week, at leas two weeks...it's moving... I have almost 5 weeks to my Interview. My husband will take work off day to go with me for the moral support that's why I love him...
I still am not sure if we must say YES about situation question I'd we do have a couple of speed tickets. I was pretty sure if they are less than $500 we should not mention it ( as stated in N400 form instruction) but many guys here from different states told that yes, we should... what do you think?
