LOL - yeah just what I thought. I have no problem baring all either. As said above they already have SSN etc etc
-
Hi - wow, hardly seems like almost 2 yrs have passed since regularly frequenting VJ from K1 to AOS.
I've read through numerous posts and only saw a few remarks on financial/privacy concerns.
I'm ready to send bank statements, joint credit card copies, etc. I believe I saw one remark on marking out all but last 4 digits on credit card copies. I've also read to include all pages of bank statements even though both names are on page 1.
So any thoughts on exposing all one's financial info on bank statements, like where all those checks etc went, or full account numbers regarding credit cards and statements?
thanks much

Thanks all! yes it was fast, hard to believe we can take a breath from paperwork until mid 2009....
good luck to you all

Yesterday, Sep 21, my wife's green card made it's official arrival.
As we all know, consistency is NOT a USCIS attribute.
We received official approval notice on Aug 28 via email - never received the paper notice as the email said.
On Sep 12 received email that card production was ordered, and
on Sep 18 received another email notice of AOS approval being mailed.
With GC in hand who cares about the mail notices!!!!!

Good luck to everyone !

Congratulations! You didn't have to go to your local USCIS for an interview? I've never heard that before
Not uncommon at all - many here report that happening...

despite an early RFE for the full medical when we had just sent the I-693A and a ridiculous request for another copy of the I-129F approval,
and the help of the local congressman to determine that the POE file with medical hadn't met up with the AOS file,
and the odd resumption of processing (without sending any of the requested RFE documents) and a transferred to CSC notice,
tonight this was received - -
*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

I received 2 emails yesterday informing me my wife's EAD and AP were approved... I had been wondering about the EAD since we were notified in July of a Request for Inititial Evidence for the I-485, "You are ineligible for interim employment authorization pursuant to Title 8, Code of Federal Regulations..." The RFE was for the full medical (which I've posted elsewhere) but was cleared up after the congressman's office helped and found out about a temp file not yet linked up where it should be...and then oddly being notified that normal I-485 processing was being continued and transferred to CSC.
-
UPDATE: we received a receipt regarding the I-485 transfer to CSC., with this first sentence, "This is to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing:" ...CSC
Still wondering about the earlier RFE for the medical and fiancee visa approval I called the congressman's office again...response was that the medical from POE finally caught up with the temp file at MSC and now CSC. As for the I-129F copy, wait until you hear further from CSC, it at all.
Otherwise, for some strange reason it appears the RFE has been self-corrected....odd, very odd. From all I've read here, this is out of the ordinary.

Legally the name on the ticket has to match the passport.
You might get away with it, but for anyone else: Please book tickets in the name on your passport!
Wouldn't this only matter for international travel? Realistically, if one is traveling within the US, and you have a driver's license in your married name, then the ticket can be in the married name as well. What would prompt some authority to ask for a passport?
-
Not enough coffee yet. I only read the top CAPS line..
OP - that is weird. Mine wasn't transferred until they receive my RFE response.
yep, the congressman's office agreed it is weird......?
-
nobody has had this happen?
I'm asking about being transferred to CSC while a questionable, pending RFE hasn't been sent back to MSC?
anyone...

Two weeks ago we received an RFE for the medical and a copy of the I-129F approval. Since we're a K1 visa no medical was required, and we had sent the I693A. I've posted about this several times. To handle the medical thing I contacted the congressman and we found out my wife's file from POE still hadn't made it to MSC. Once that happened the congressman's office could better sort out the medical request.
This morning I got the "usual" email: "Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.
The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS that was transferred to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location is now pending there. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you."
However we never sent in what was requested on the RFE so now I'm wondering what's up? I will be contacting the congressional office today.

Just called about 10 offices, and 8 of them got mad at me. They said I dont know what i'm talking about and we need the full medical exam. F them. They have nerve to tell me that it doesnt work that way.
Read them the I-485 instructions where it says a medical isn't needed !
-
Ok, just called to price to have the vaccination report transfered to the supplement. However I was told that my wife will now need, a skin test shot and hepatits B as well. Is this the truth? Or an attempt to try to milk more $ from me?
YOU DO NOT NEED HEPATITIS B - don't fall for that nonsense. Read this thread, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69857
and all the links....

The medical that you handed over was sufficient for AOS - unfortunately it seems they have lost yours between POE and the service centre. Join the club - contact your senator and ask them to look into it, maybe they can find it. It works for saome but It didnt work for me and i have just mailed a new one, at my own personal expense, back to CSC.
This sounds like the same ####### I've posted on similar threads in the past week. As I posted a few days ago, our medical hasn't yet made it to the correct place with the service center - in other words from the POE to the service center is taking too long, and when you file AOS they kick it back to you for the medical because they don't have your complete file - we found this out last week from our congressman's office. We're now waiting for things to catch up before proceeding to answer the RFE.
-
thanks to the help of others' posts, my wife got her Fl driver license today. Knowing that others got it with AOS NOAs we did so too. My wife got her learners permit first, a month after arrival. Today, even with her expired I-94, but with the NOAs for I-485 and I-765, we went to the Delray Beach office and she took the road test, passed, and the license will be mailed.
-
So do you not need the medical any more? We got a medical RFE too and our turn around time was short(entered in Feb, AOS in April). Then again, our case was transfered to CSC so I was surprised the medical didn't get spotted sooner. We got CC'd on a letter our congressman sent to USCIS in DC.
For you and the other posters: We're waiting for the file to catch up and then the congressman's staffer will find out about the medical. I'll have more info on or about July 30. We cancelled the Infopass after getting this info.

I posted about our RFE on this link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=78220
Yesterday I got some info from my congressman's office - my wife has a temporary file at MSC - her paperwork from the POE has not yet made it to their office. Actually her file is at another office miles away from MSC and should connect up in the next week. I'm guessing that's part of the reason for the full medical exam request, they don't have any paperwork on her medical. It still doesn't answer why we were asked again for a copy of the I-129F approval, as it was provided with our application submission.
So what's the conclusion here? Was AOS filed too soon? My wife arrived 14 April and we filed 16 Jun and the RFE was dated 6 Jul - too fast for USCIS to get paperwork in the right place?

Hi There,
I hope somebody here can help me. I had my medical exam done in my home country last month in order to get the Fiance Visa. Now that I'm in USA, I wanted to have the information on the vaccination worksheet from the medical transferred onto the I-693A to file with AOS. The DS3025 worksheet says "vaccine history complete" and for Hepatitis B it says "not age appropriate".
I went to the civil surgeon today and he said I also needed Hepatitis B shot. So I wanted to ask if somebody knows where I can find the list of required vaccinations for different age groups. I remember reading somewhere that Hep B is only required for children and youths under 18. I don't want to spend that extra money if I don't have to.
Also, I called the USCIS customer service and they told me I needed a new full medical exam, which is bullshit as we all know. When I read them the instructions on the I-485 AOS form about Fiance's who had the exam within one year don't need a new one, the person told me that he couldn't help me any more and would transfer me somewhere else. I didn't have the patience to wait on hold any longer.
Thank you in advance for your help, my fellow VJ-ers!
NOT REQUIRED. Read this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;#entry935357
You'll find links in the thread with instructions to the physicians - proves the point.

Yes another update...
I can't say enough about our congressman's staff. I live in the same town as his district office, actually it's less than a mile away. As they were perparing to send me the records release form, they realized how close we are to the office and called us and said it would be quicker if I just came in. They called again this morning to ask us to bring my wife's A# and the CSC address/case info. We had all that ready to go(RFE, medical records, vaccination uspplement), but still appreciated the calls. Now we get to play this waiting game. Even if they're not able to do anything, I feel good that our congressman is at least trying.
Rebbecajo, I understand your points about not getting a senator/congressman involved with every little thing, but as a co-worker told me this morning, that's why they're there...to help us. If it was an error in our part, I wouldn't have had any problems working things out on my own, but the fact of the matter is someone else messed up, not us, or that we're aware of.
I totally agree with going to the congressman's office. I did so yeseterday. As I posted the other day, we got an RFE for the medical and a copy of the I129F approval(K1). We had sent the I693A and the I129F. The congressional office was only too willing to help, fully knowledgeable of these issues, having previous experience. Had it just been a form or two to resend I would never bother with the congressman.
-
Geez, sounds like they misplaced/lost the file again. I see this happeneing to people on here over and over. If it turns out that this is the case for you, please report it to the Ombudsman. This needs to stop and Im sure if the Ombudsman gets enough complaints, something will be done. This is ridiculous.
yup, my thoughts too - I've drafted a request for my congressman to find the missing medical - we think it went to Miami. How they can "lose" the copy of the I-129F petition approval is beyond me!
-
I had the same request for the medical. I went to infopass and was told that I could sent back the RFE with a letter informing them the medical is not required but they warned me that "No officer is going to approve a green card petition without a seeing a copy of the medical." Infopass did nothing for me so I contaced my congressman who called the USCIS. Within a week they found my husbands medical which was in his "other" folder.
The point is I woud be hesitent to just send back a letter stating the medical is not required, because if it really is lost your petition will not be approved. I'm not sure if they would have looked for my husbands medical if I had not involved my congressman and just sent back the RFE telling them to look for it.
Good Luck
Christina
thanks, yes I read your posts on this. My wife does recall asking and being told the papers were being sent to Miami. So I wonder if Miami has her medical info. I'm ready to contact the congressman and perhaps set up an Infopass too. As the other poster asked, we do have our own copy of the I693A. The other oddity of this RFE is I did originally send a copy of the I129F approval and they're asking for that again too. The I693A was submitted in a sealed envelop from the local CS.
-
Well I've read some other's experiences on this one, but thought I'd question it anyhow... we got an RFE today on my wife's AOS.
Two things, proof of the I-129F petition, and the I-693 medical exam.... So right off the bat I know this is a crock....because,
with regard to the I-129F we sent a copy of the approval and it was listed on the cover letter. That's the easy part, I can send another copy of it.
But the I-693 medical. My wife had her medical in Feb 2007 as part of the K1 visa process. Per the I485 instructions, K1 visa applicants do not have to do a medical if within the past year, but send the vaccination supplement. We did that - we sent a sealed envelop from the civil surgeon who completed the I693A. It was even on the cover letter that only the vaccination supplement was being sent because the medical was in Feb 07.
So now, after reading other's responses to this, I wonder if we should just respond with the copy of the I-129F approval, and re-iterate that the medical was done in Feb 07, and per the I-485 instructions a new medical is not required and just the vaccination supplement and include another copy of it.
Suggestions? I know some of the obvious is to get a new medical, or try infopass or the congressman. Sheesh. We follow their instructions and still it goes screwy!

we're one day behind you with our K-1/K-2 AOS submissions.
best of luck
Looks like we're in the same boat regarding the K2 visa too
Bill
good luck Bill - right behind you again !
VSC ROC Approved!!!!
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
Was just reading about a recent VSC approval, who applied after we did, and wondered how much longer to wait. So I went out to check the mail and there was an envelop from USCIS - approval notice dated on Oct 20, 2009
Thanks for all the help from visa journey!
