Yes, it does.
There is a whole specific section on the I485 regarding J1.
The only options are fulfill the 2 years requirement or apply for a waiver.
It doesn't matter the last entry.

Yes, I agree with swsslfn it does apply.
You need to check your visa tho. My J1 was not a subject to the 2 year rule.

did you file for EAD and AP?
I got only EAD with wrong date. I got it back in January and it's going to be effective in August only... so few more weeks.

Thank you for actively replying. Mine is 4 months last July 1, called USCIS and told me have to wait until Sep to call them back. Just keeping the faith and remaining optimistic. All the best!
They are really bad with that.
What I did is I submitted inquiry online here https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do
And It helped. It was months ago so I don't know how much help it would be to you but it's worth a try.

Few more weeks you are all set how many months did you wait for it?
I waited 4 months to get it. Everything is so slow nowadays... I'm lucky I at least go it. I've seen that some people that applied didn't get it yet... such a mess.

There is no need to maintain F-1 status. After terminating F-1 status you won't have legal immigration status but "authorized stay" allowed by the US Attorney General.
I agree with that.
You are good to wait without f1

I do, unfortunately they made a mistake in dates and it will be valid from August so I'm waiting on that to find a job.

I applied for AOS while on F1 in November 2017. I graduated school this May, still waiting to hear back from USCIS for my interview.
I ended my F1 with school. While your application is pending you are legally waiting for their decision.

Not directly from USCIS. If you sign up for Informed delivery feature of USPS, you will get that info. However its too late now for EAD tracking number. You could probably do that for any future packages
Thank you!
You guys know everything! So happy to be a part of the forum

Actually, just now I got a text that they mailed my card today. Do you get a tracking number for usps?

Finally got an update from USCIS on EAD application after exactly 70 days of them receiving my package. New Card is being produced. Nothing on AP and AOS yet.
I just got the same update.
Did you receive your card yet? Curious how long does it take for them to make it and mail it.

Great news!!
Last night at 9:30p Et I got a text and email saying that my wifes I-765 and I-131 were updated. At USCIS.gov it said that her EAD card is in production and will be mailed!! Woo hoo!!
For those of you that have already received your card how long did it take from when you were notified until you actually received the card in the mail??
For those of you still waiting hang in there. We filed 11/3. So you all should be getting good news soon!!
Congratulations! Hope you will get it soon.
For me it's exactly 75 days today... they received my application November 8th. I'm trying to don't worry but with this whole mess with government shutdown, I don't know what to expect....

I wouldn't worry about it. They're barely processing July cases right now. You're months away from getting ajudicated so this will likely be resolved before they even touch August and September cases.
That really makes me feel better.... wait even longer :/

we are hoping by midnight some kind of deal will be reached. there is a proposal to extend the shutdown until February. DACA is huge on the list. ugh....I hope not. we have our interview on Monday.
Will they stop interviews then?

Your timeline looks normal. What i see here and check about notices and EAD approval dates you should hear some news in a week or two. Hope sooner than later. Good luck us all
Thank you for your reply. I hope you are right and I'll hear something soon.... I hate the waiting part through this process

Hi guys!
Wanted to ask you something since its seems like you know WAY more than I do! (Thanks to you!)
You are such a great help and It makes me so happy that we can all support each other here!
I keep up to date with our forum and keep reading your posts about you getting notice and changes in your applications.
I'm extremely happy for you! I just wonder why for me nothing has changed yet since I got done with biometrics... I know that some of you have filed as well I chicago lockbox. What are the factors that affect how quickly the process goes? I don't know if i should be worried or no....

Just to be safe I would bring anything that you have. You never know what are they going to ask you. I brought for my interview everything that we already submitted, EVERYTHING. They asked us for some of the original documents that we sent.
Also, we brought the most recent taxes, even tho it was for already next year (from when we submitted paperwork was exactly one year to our interview)
