Well - now the online system is stating that they have an interview scheduled...

Hey Chris, this is exactly what happened to me. On October 13th I sent them an e-request, 3 days later they replied that respond has been sent but I've never received anything... mentioned that to Tier 2 officer, but seems she could not care less... Last week I sent a letter to a congressman to help me found out what exactly going on with the case... Will keep you posted on his respond once received...
Basically, since holidays are coming I put myself on "standby" mode... won't let this situation ruin my New Year celebration...  

So... Supposedly a response was sent to my inquiry about the time taken on the case, but I've not seen it.  They ask for an email address, so I would assume that they would have sent an email, but then again, I never did get a confirmation via email that my address change had completed successfully.  I did, however, receive a message that they had started to process my address change at the time that it was going in, so I know that they had the right address back then.

Does anybody know if this kind of request is something that they would handle by postal mail only, or should there have been an email?

I just filed a Service Request for "Case outside of normal processing times" - the field office is processing filers from Feb 18 at this point (or as of July 31).  So, I was correct in extrapolating earlier when they refused to allow me to submit an inquiry...  In any case, all this does is start another, different wait cycle, since the service request can take up to 30 days to be returned...
 
Patience...  We shall see how this goes forward....

I have a bad feeling that in Jan-18 I would have to contact a state Senator in order to make the case moving. This is insane to see people that assigned to the same IO as you do, and they already got their citizenship and you are not even in line for the interview.
This waiting times makes me tired, I'm not even sure now, if I would be as happy as I could be once they eventually schedule my interview... 
Right now I am kind of in "Ok mode", what ever will be, will be... So, I am ready for Jan-18 option lol  

We have the same PD but my field office is Cleveland, OH.. local office processing per posting is Jan. 19..... & the wait continues....Oh mother earth  , what have I done in life, my case is taking longer than what I thought..7-months next week, still no interview letter today.....

Ah the "fun" of all this... 
 
PD is Jan 25 - my field office (Buffalo NY) is processing applications from Jan 11 as of the end of June (was Dec 10 at the end of May, so progress.  End of April showed something in September, if I recall right - so May was an extremely productive month for them!).
 
However, I can't even send an inquiry as of yet, since my application is within the "normal processing time", even though it would make logical sense that a month and a half ago they only had 14 days to catch up to my PD... 
 
So - here we sit and wait.

Today is my birthday and today I received my US Passport.

I'm still here in the same boat...  Fingerprints Feb 17, nothing new.
 
In my case, I know I have a file with the FBI, since I was born in Iraq (but to Finnish parents, there as expats).  Thus, I was interviewed after the attacks by the FBI.  I have also had the misfortune to have entered the US from Canada hours after first gulf war started, which called for some interesting times spent with CBP at the port of entry - again simply because I was born in Iraq.  Never have been a citizen or a national of Iraq, but yet it sets a flag...  Anyhow, as such I know that a name check with the FBI will not come back with no hits, so now they have been forced to go through all the records, which I'm sure will take some time...

Ah yes - you are from one of the "country of" places..    I have lived in one ending that way (in the native language) and another similar "country of" place (with a different language ending).  Obviously, I am from another "land of" countries as well, but that one does not usually cause people to take note in such issues...

Note that this is *NOT* a quote that should be attributed to me...  I suspect that this is probably VIK376 who is in line; mine certainly is not - still stuck in fingerprints.  So, the date that is marked on the table for me is not accurate either..

At least it looks like you are "in-line"...  Mine still shows only that a fingerprint appointment was scheduled (and done in Feb)...  I would love to see some traction on my case, but alas, that does not appear to be the case...
