My wife, the visa holder, and myself and daughter will be entering in Houston this month. I've paid the fee already. Do we need to bring anything other than the sealed packet we were given? TIA

You'll need to upload the originals and a translation. Translation should be certified/official, mostly likely with a stamp and a statement saying that the translator is certified to do this work. That is what I had to submit, granted I was submitting hard copies, and not scanning them in to CEAC.

Normally a pink slip for accepted and a blue slip for rejection (even if they are just waiting on more docs to be submitted.) Surprised that your husband wasn't informed after returning with last requested docs. Like the above says, keep checking CEAC or try to get in touch with your embassy/consulate.

Interviewed on Sept 7, received the passport on September 14th. One or two days showing AP, then changed to issued. Passport in post a few days later.

Thanks everyone.

Unsure, but usually we fly through Chicago. Are any POEs considered better/faster than others.

Just looking at booking tickets for the my family as we relocate back to the states. My wife will be entering for the first time since getting her visa approved. Just wondering how long the process is at the POE as I want to make sure that I allow enough time for us to complete the standard procedures without worrying about missing a connecting flight. TIA

I basically had everything I had sent along with the i130, the i864, and then some more update documents for the time between submitting the i864 and the interview. Salary statements, steps taken to reestablish domicile, etc.
Edit: And the originals of everything asked for in the interview appointment letter.

Received and email about three weeks before the interview. Aug 16th received email, Interviewed Sept 7th.

Can you book the appointments online?
I don't think so. We just called into IOM and they acted as if it was way to close to the interview date even though it was a few weeks out still. They were booked up. Went through Cho Ray and my wife said it was fine, except one staff member was rude and was terrible at drawing blood. Vaccinations a few days later at "International Health Quarantine Centre of HCMC." Take results back to Cho Ray and receive your results/envelope(do not open!!!) Lots of running around the city, but wasn't too bad.

Depends on the place most likely. Here in HCMC only two places can do the medical check, and one was booked up solidly during the 3 weeks we had from appointment letter to actual interview time, and even the other hospital seemed to think 3 weeks was cutting it close. That could be due to issues here in Vietnam though.

Visa issued. Printed and in the post now. Thanks again.

Rarely will too much evidence be an issue. If you have it, why not send it.

Cheers boys. Big thanks to you both, but a bit grudgingly to one...;-)

Case status updated today, the 11th after interview on Friday the 7th. Currently showing administrative processing. Is that the normal message displayed so quickly after the interview? The reason I ask is because of one answer my wife gave during the interview regarding our co sponsor. However, the day of, the interviewer did seem to make an issue of it and gave us the pink slip and said congrats on a successful application.

When I access this page, it opens up to showing that I have chosen an agent, paid the fees, etc, the summary information page, with tabs for Fees, and IV application. Is this what I should be seeing? Is there a typical number of days I should wait for an update to our case. Thanks again Geowrian.

Hello I have a question regarding the affidavit of support.
My wife has applied for ir visa for me (she's a U.S. Citizen) but she's never worked and so doesn't meet income requirements for affidavit of support...Her sister is going to be the joint sponsor in our case. My question is which form will she (sister) have to file? Is it I 864 or I 864a? She is married and lives in a different state. Does she have to include her husband in the household size? And what about my wife and daughter? Will she be including them along with me in the AOS? Or just me?
Thank you in advance!!
both the petitioner and the co sponsor will file i-864 forms.

Bump for same question.

You'll need to provide more info to get detailed answers, but most likely an i-864. Scanned signature is ok. All photocopies until the interview stage, then some docs will have to be originals, like criminal check, passport, birth cert of beneficiary etc.

Completed our interview in HCMC last Friday. Visa was granted. Now curious about how to check the status. Looking at the CEAC website, the last info is still saying that our "case is ready for interview." I know I have seen mentioned here of a site that will show "visa printed" or "Administrative Processing." Is that found on the CEAC site? On the USCIS site it is just saying it has been sent to "was sent to the department of state." TIA. Thanks for all the help visajourney. Special shout out to Psburk or whatever your name is.

I tried to fulfill the domicile requirement with DL, land deed, investment accounts, but I also included a letter stating my intent to re establish after visa was granted, if granted. I've been away more than 10 years and it never seemed to be an issue.

Submitted docs in late July. Notified about interview in mid August for interview on Sept 7. Can't get here soon enough.

DHL from Vietnam is only 60usd. I wonder why so much more in Ecuador? I did thee same. Gave to my parents then they posted it priority mail. No problems!

Our interview has been set for Sept 7. As the petitioner, I have claimed $0 income and used a joint sponsor. The joint sponsor and household member provided salary and earnings statements for the current period of may and june. Do I need to get the most recent statements as well to present to the C.O. ?
Another question, HCMC allows the petitioner to join in the interview. If it is allowed, is it also preferred, or doesn't really matter. I'd like to join my wife for her sake, but wondering if the C.O would rather I not be present. TIA

Yes. Not sure how much weight the land deed carried. I've heard that a current DL can be enough, but any kind of credit/banking statements, etc, should help some as well. Never asked to submit any more docs or anything. Good luck!
