NVC will reset the scan date if there are any new documents received or any information changed.  Your scan date will be the date on which they have received all payments AND all required documentation (e.g., forms, civil documents, etc.).  When they have received everything, the review timer starts.

In other words, if you sent in additional documentation or if your case information was updated, the new scan date would be your "Scan Date" and you would start your 11 week count from that date.

I noticed you said attached.  Are you email filing?  This thread was for mail processing I guess I can add email filing to the forms for reference.  Please make sure you fill out the following form to share your progress with the rest of us :)

No I did mail filing. And that email was just to change my embassy. I don't know why they added those to my documents as the attached docs in the email didn't have to be forwarded to anyone. Now because of their error I have a new scan date 😭😭😭

  2. Hi All,

So I sent in my packet to NVC on march.

    scan date: march 22nd

    new scan date: April 27th

    embassy: Islamabad

I never sent in anything besides the packet in march which included a documents n i think I didn't leave anything out or and questions unanswered.

Now im not sure why they have this new scan date for me.

Only thing I did ask for, by email in march was to have my embassy changed to Islamabad instead of UAE. So my first email they reviewed n March and initiated the change. My 2nd email which was the same as first. Someone reviewed it n submitted the docs that I had attached (birth n marriage cert) for proof that they are from Pakistan therefore our interview should also be in Pakistan.

Now that NVC received those 2 document again they generated a new scan date. But they already hav those in ny original packet from March.

This new scan date will put me a month behind. Now I am so confused which scan date to follow for my 11 week review period🙁

Can anyone help me if they had been in a similar situation.

    Thanks ❤

Congrats!!! Hope all goes well for u.

If you call NVC after ur CC instead of waiting will they schedule ur interview date?  Or does I depend on ur embassy? How comes others don't do this n still waiting to be scheduled?

Wow congrats ur case seems to be processing faster compare to others. At which embassy is your interview?

I just submitted our package to NVC hope all goes smoothly and gets approved quickly as this distance is killing us. Really missing my husband:(

All the very best to you!!!

  6. To qualify as a household member, you must be at least 18 years old and fall into one of these categories:

    • you are the sponsor’s spouse or dependent on last year’s taxes (even if you don’t actually live with the sponsor), OR
    • you are the sponsor’s father, mother, adult child, brother or sister, and you  do  live with the sponsor.

Luckily, a household member does not have to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

In fact, you can fill out Form I-864A as a household member if you are the immigrant seeking a green card and you meet the requirements explained above. But your income would have to come from lawful employment that will continue after you become a U.S. resident.

    No problem. :)

To be honest I would have thought the interview would have been in UAE as he's currently living there. But I would call NVC to be sure of this, especially if it's difficult to travel between UAE and Pakistan. I have known members to have their interview in the country they are living in and not the country they are actually from. So call and have it changed.

That's good you made yourself the agent. Be sure they have both your email address and your husbands, so that you both receive the information.

Yes you can always get the police certificates now, and this is the time you should, as you are collecting these documents to submit to the NVC

    Good Luck dear! :)

    Hi,

Thanks again. I just want to know if you know how we can check what the current interview dates are for the country.

So I had it changed to UAE since he's working there. So NVC changed It to UAE

But now in thinking that I shouldn't have gotten it changed coz most of our docs are from Pakistan, like birth n marriage certificate n all. N i think interview dates are faster in Pakistan than UAE?

So what should I do now ?

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents.html Once you've paid the fee's the NVC will email you the AOS and IV checklist. Above I gave you the link from NVC for collecting documents and the next following steps in the NVC process. I advise you read it well, and see what applies to your situation.

Also, please read the wiki link I had given you, it gives step by step, exact information on what you will need to do. If you follow it and take heed the advises it will make this whole process much easier. It's a lot to read, but totally worth it. :)

One more question, on the letter we received it said that the interview will be in Islamabad Pakistan. But since my husband is in Uae is it possible to ask to have the interview in UAE?

Thanks again, will review the information.

The last notice we got from NVC did include this Civer Sheet which had a checklist of all the documents we need to provided for the financial docs and AOS.

i was wondering if it's okay to get he police report right now, even though I have only completed step 1 only.

i called NVC to validate that I, the petitioner will be the agent so they noted it and said to wait a week and then continue to step 2, pay fees, and then the other steps.

So is it okay to have the police reports dated for now, since they are valid like for 6-12 months I believe?

Please see my comments above and please read this guide as it is extremly helpful and provides all the information you need for these next steps at NVC

    Good Luck :)

Thank you so much for your reply.

i have a few other questions,

What are the IV supporting docs ?

So I only need to do the I-864a only for the AOF, since I'm living with my father? My father will fill in the household member section and I will fill in the sponsorer section? The rest (interpreter & preparer) section I will leave blank?

My husband will also also need to provide his medical record, so when will they ask for that? He has lived in Pakistan and now has been working in UAE for almost 8 years. So the medical has to be from UAE since he resides there now? And will they also ask for his immunization record?

  11. I'm a US citizen, applied for for husband on July 2016. My priority date is July 22, 2016. Most recent update on my case is that it was sent to NVC and I just selected my agent. Not waiting to complete the other steps.  I wanted to know how much longer will it take now to receive an interview date. As now I have to wait 2-3 weeks after selecting agent to do the further steps (pay fees and submit financial & other docs).

For the police report what must we include in that? I am currently not working and don't have a W2 so my dad will be supporting us, so how can u include him on my affidavit of support.

After the interview what are the chances of it going under review? As I have heard most of the cases for a guy go under review for 3 months

    Thanks

  12. Im a US citizen and I filed I-130 in July 2016 for my husband. My priority date is July 21, 2016. On January 25th 2017 my case was sent to the department of state for visa processing (last update on my case status).  What's next now? What other document should I have to send now? How much longer will it take to get an interview date and all?

Do I have to contact NVC to ask then if they received my case? If so, what number should I call? And can we choose the country which we want to go for the interview? Coz my husband works in Dubai and also has resided in Pakistan but for him UAE embassy will be more convenient instead of the one in Pakistan.

Can someone plz guide me, thanks loadzzz!!!❤
