  1. Hello everyone ☺️

I have a question, I'm applying the n400 Online and I'm a little confused And was hoping anyone can help!

I'm applying as my 90 day window is open, since I have my three year green card anniversary coming soon And married to a US citozen, Hence when I'm applying online however I some of questions.

I've gone through the application online and so far The questions relate to where I lived Five years ago, employment, travel etc.. All for five years ago even though I came to the US as LPR coming up to three years ago. although I've listed the requested information, the information Is predominantly of my time in the UK, then portrays my time in the US from 2017 and onwards. If I try to change it to time in US it tells me I'm missing certain time periods. Am I doing this correctly? Sorry if this is a really simple answer 🤦🏻‍♀️

  2. Hello VJ familia :)

I had my interview yesterday at the London embassy and through Gods grace I was approved! I will be putting up a full review in due course! I wanted to thank you ALL for your help and support!

I was just wondering how long it will take for my visa to be sent home? I checked yesterday afternoon and it was in processing, checked this morning and it's been issued! Does that mean it will be on its way??

    Thanks 😁😘

I had my interview last Friday 19th, and was approved all within the space of 25 minutes! At the London U.S Embassy. I have been watching my case status and today 24th May it has changed from 'AP' to 'Issued.' I registered with DX courier for my documents to be delivered at a home address last month when I scheduled my visa interview. How long did it take you guys to receive your visa & passport after it had been changed to issued? Will my passport be in a separate envelope to my visa so I can retrieve it? It's just I'm flying in 2 weeks and this Saturday I'm planning on going out with my friends for a farewell party and I need my passport in order to do so! (Not a big deal right now at all, I'm just curious!) my main priority is receiving my visa 😌

    Thank you so much! xxx

    Congrats on the approval!

Can I ask how your interview went?? Are you a k1 visa or cr1/ir1? What questions did they ask?? 25 mins is great!! 😁Did you show your latest tax information? Sorry for the questions I have my interview soon and stressing!!

Thank you all for your input. Yes its says immigrant visa to rejoin spouse in US denied under 214(b). No he has no convictions, his national police certificate says no trace. No drug or alcohol related charges or points on his driving record. Erm, only thing he got upset when uk immigration seperated us at the border and once again when he was denied his reinstatement of his ESTA visa. So thats the only reason why I could think of for the mental evaluation. We provided photos and letters and social media interaction as evidence at he interview but they were not interested in seeing them and they said it was approved just he had to turn in missing paperwork and do another medical exam which he is and we submitted missing paper work but it was still denied.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Has anything progressed since then?

So as the title suggests, I had my interview today and I am incredibly thankful it was accepted! Most experiences do not differ a great deal from mine. Wait for your number to be called check you have certain paperwork, went to the pay the fee, came back to the same window waited for my number to be called again for my interview.

If anyone has read any of my previous posts I stupidly mailed all of my i-864 forms and supporting documents to the embassy. Despite this they had the complete file there anyway, I bought along all the correct paperwork as I assumed they would not have it. So essentially had double everything.

The hard work in this process was certainly all the form filing and gathering evidence required. The advantage that DCF filers have is that you will take the i-864 etc with you to the interview, so any discrepancies can be discussed face to face rather than having an RFE this is my understanding anyway. Interview itself was incredibly informal, nothing to sweat over.

Feel free to ask any questions, I would have been lost without this forum!

Thanks to everyone who helped and pointed me in the right direction when I needed it!

    Aww congratulations!!!

I've got mine at the end of may and panicking sooo much!! Did they ask for your 2016 tax returns? Did you have them? Or just show your W2?

    Congrats again!!

I think if you have interview already then I would not worry about it because if it was a concern they would have done something about it ,, it's not what he claims they just want to know if he is filing every year ,, doesn't matter he file single or married he is still paying taxes

    Ahh ok thank you!

He had last year's tax returns which he sent to the nvc and that was before we got married.

Do I show the tax return we got this year? Or can I state my husband has filled, he made a mistake and awaiting the amendment? But I have last year's and this year's w2 form? *Confused* .. UK taxes are all done for us lol

  7. Hello people!

I have a question which im hoping my VJ famila can help with :)

So basically unfortunately my husband filled in his  tax returns for this year incorrectly by filling status as single rather than 'married filling seperately' using the turbo tax app (he did this beginning of April, before the deadline). As it's his first year filling as a married man, realising the mistake; he then filled in the 1040x form stating that he was advised incorrectly and wanted to change the status (again before the tax deadline, I also have a copy of this and the postal reciept as proof it was sent ).

So my question as I have my interview coming up at the end of may, is it sufficient to take what I currently have;  my husband's last year tax return (which was sent in the original affidavit of support form), all of his pay slips for the past few months, his employer contract stating employment and wage, this years w2 form that's required to fill in his tax returns. I do have the returned tax form for this year, but it was with the incorrect status. Would I take this and explain?

Any advice and guidance would be much appreciated!

    Thank you xxx

Thanks)) Congrats on your upcoming baby!

We also tried to expedite the process: our 1,5 year old son needs a major surgery ASAP, here in Russia they cut open, and in the USA it is a minimum invasive surgery, BUT for Russian embassy it was not enough reason. So for now we decided to wait (under doctor's supervision) because with possible complications of the surgery we could not fit into 6 months visa window... All this drag me into severe depression, and every day checking my email and calling NVC just killing me.....

Awww Hun, hang in there!!!! Such a shame that the Russian embassy havent expedited your case, as clearly this is a reason to why. I'm so sorry...  I genuinely hope and pray that your little boy gets his operation and gets better soon! May God make it easy for you.. hang in there hun, and offload on your visa journey familia if ever you need to!!!

  10. Hello all!!

We had our case completed yesterday (30th March) and just wondering how long it would generally take for an interview to be scheduled?

I do understand that they are currently booking May interviews, and have just received dates this week and will continue to book till next week (as informed by a rep).

Just wanted to know whether I'm looking at a May, June or July interview or later 😬

I am sorry. I hear ya. We have been seeing different responses on this thread. Some are being told they are still scheduling for May and some are saying they have stopped.

I spoke to a very nice representative on Friday night and he assured me we will be scheduled sometimes this week.

Hang in there folks. I feel it coming. :)

Ahh zebracakex I'm praying your right insha'Allah!!!! Need an interview or date or something at least!! Where was your cousin's consulate? And congrats on the approval!!!!

I'm wondering if anyone has called.. so badly want to but afraid of getting rejected and being told all interviews are done for may. 😬🙈

I just got off the phone with Rep ,, they said to call back end of month ,, 😡😡😡😡😡  depending on capacity  they might still have slot but she said call back end of month this not the first time I heard this 😡 I am a  idiot  because I will call back tonight and next few day but if I don't here something this week I will give up till end of month  patience is not my virtue  Lol

Lol Mike your not the only one who will be calling back when your told 'not to'!! I'm like a kid, tell me to call back at the end of the month il call back every day to see if il get any sort of answer haha .. arghh I totally Feel your pain!!!!

  14. Hello all!

I hope your well and eagerly awaiting our interview dates soon!!! Bring on may!

I have a question and hoping someone can help!

Basically my husband (USC) filled his taxes and used TurboTax to do so, so obviously as were married he tried to file his taxes married but filling singlely, however it would ask for my SSN (Which I obviously don't have going through the process still), so he attempted to but something in the box but it wasnt allowing anything but an 8 digit SSN, So he filled his 2016 taxes singlely, thinking that it would be ok because obviously I'm not there and I don't have SSN yet etc.. and then once I do go and get it all he would send the 1040x form to amend it to married filing jointly. So being a uk citizen and never having to do taxes, is this correct? As one, we obviously don't want to do it wrong and secondly having the tax report back for 2016 it says filled singly and if Ill have to take this to the interview I don't want it to be a reason for the visa to be delayed or denied! :L

Any help would be much appreciated please help!!!

@Nutella Thanks ukhti. I truly appreciate it. I received your email and replied back :P Yes you're right, insha'Allah any day now.  You received the CC email on the 14th of March, so exactly one week. Insha'Allah you will receive your so soon.

@Zebracakex Thank you dear. Insha'Allah we all will get an interview date scheduled so soon. To be honest I'm not quite sure what the hold up is. Looking back at other members who were from Cairo, it did not seem to take nearly as long. I do know we have two holidays coming up here in Egypt (Coptic Easter and Sinai Liberation Day - both governmental holidays), so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. But I'd think that at least they could begin scheduling for May a bit faster. Allahu Alim.

Aww I didn't receive it 😔 keep your head up Hun insha'Allah it will be so soon!!! As always your in my duas xx
