I called and they told me to wait another week for the Hard copy in the mail and give me 2 different receipt number which I'm able to track my case online and one is invalid. Does it mean I already have BIO scheduled but I missed it? Worried now.

I don't think so. I noticed on my husband's biometric letter that one of the receipt numbers listed is the same as the NOA letter, which does not work to track the app online. And there is a second receipt number in the biometrics letter right after the first one, that does work to track online. So if the agent didn't tell you that you missed the appt, then I suspect that you are still fine and just have to wait for the letter. I know this process is so nerve wrecking!! Uugghh. But things will move along slowly, but surely. Good luck!

    Hi everyone,

it's been already 2 weeks since my NOA1 date and still waiting for my biometrics appointment letter :(

    anyone in the same situation?

    please respond :(

    thank you

Yes! The date on my NOA is 2/13 from VCS and I called them today to see what's going on. The agent said I have to wait 30 days from the date we received the NOA before calling  I really pray for patience! I just said thanks you and hung up. They are so unhelpful sometimes

To all my fellow ROC's, isn't it weird you put in for AOS and you're sat there every day waiting for your GC with excited anticipation after the K1 or IR, but once you get to ROC, you think ok, here we go again and the excitement, the waiting, the anticipation is just not as much there any more.  Reason, because you knew how long it took for AOS, you realise that you are not an American, you know they will still take their merry time, as your still classed just an alien! Sad, but true!

@shell20aawww don't think that way! :( they just have a high volume of requests. Although I do recommend for everyone that can, to apply for your citizenship as soon as you're eligible! That way, you won't have to worry about going through  any of this process ever again :jest: and you can reap the benefits of US citizenship! That is our plan for my husband as soon as we bet this 10 year GC in hand.

We'll be sending ours this month, but I'm wondering about what people think about a few things regarding the form itself.

    1.  My husband has a child in his country, but I am not the mother.  We do not plan to bring her to the US.  Should we still list her in Part 5?

    2.   What is the reason for asking for the interpreter’s address in part 9?

    3. I have been helping my husband with the form.  Even though I am his wife, should I still list myself as a preparer in part 10?

I called and asked USCIS these questions, but they said they could not advise me!

@meghanbangoura no, do not list his child since she is not a conditional resident like your spouse. And yes, you list your info including your address under the interpreter portion. I completed our I-751 that way, as well as the I-485 the first time around, and did not have an issue either time. Hope this helps! Good luck!

IS NOA1 when its arrived at the center and someone has signed for it?

Mine arrive today and signed by E. Barr Please update if I am correct

@rohanrob No! Today is your submital date. The NOA (Notice of Action; form I-797C) is the letter you will receive in a few days indicating that they received your I751 and that your GC has a 1 year extension while the I751 is being processed. This NoA will also  indicate that you will receive another communication soon, informing you of the date and time of your appointment.

My DL (and green card) actually expired Feb. 5th - due to various circumstances I ended up filing just a few days before the end of my 90 day window. In any case, my SIL was kind enough to drive me out to the center today and I walked out with my new license about 30 minutes later. I too read that it could take up to 3 weeks but he had no problem in verifying me in the system. I took a lot of extra ID verification but the only thing he looked at were my old license, my green card and the NOA, and he made scans of each.

Perfect! I am glad it worked out smoothly for you! We will plan to go about a month in advance just in case. I have learned that dealing with the DMV is just unpredictable and sadly, sometimes if the staff is in a bad mood that day, they aren't very helpful. Again, thanks for the insight!

Renewed my driver's license (PA) this morning with my NOA1. Very straightforward. My new license is valid for 1 year from my green card expiration, so I'm going to end up with the quite the collection of PA licenses (think I already have four).

That's awesome! My husband received the letter from PennDot stating his DL expiration date is expiring soon. Stated he needs to take NoA letter to renew, but that it may take up to 3 weeks, since they verify the info with USCIS. With that said, sis you fo to renew it well in advances? Did you receive the new DL same day?

Ahh, good to know! Well hopefully they'll tell me when my biometrics appointment is :).

Another odd note, I went to book an appointment at the DMV (assuming my DL was up for renewal because I could've sworn my DL was same duration as my 2-year GC). Well I just took a look at it expires in 2019... so I'm thinking the DMV person just gave me a 5 year DL when I initially applied for it. So, since it's still valid... no DMV for me!

@Lights that's awesome!!! My husband's is only 2 years as you thought yours was! We will

be at the DMV in May once his GC expires.

Also, question: Will he have to make an appt with USCIS to have passport stamped due to the NOA? Or how will he be able to travel in the mean time, while the 10 year GC is in process? I am just still astonished on the processing time I was told earlier today since the 2 year GC only took 3 months.

    Here we go again!

I am VSC filer too. VSC processing time is longer than the CSC. VSC filers will have 10 years GC in 10-12 months from NOA date. CSC filers will have it in 6-8 months.

Thanks so much! Wow! I didn't know the process took so long! My impression was that the point of starting the process 90 days before GC expiration was to have the new GC by the time the current one expires. SMH but, as long as my hubby will still be able to continue with our life as it is, being able to work, drive, etc. I guess that's all that matters . We will wait patiently!

I think they always cash the check first followed by NOA.

They make sure the form is filled up correctly with no errors. Same with the check. If the both looks good, they cash the check.

Once the check is cleared by the bank, they send the NOA.

Perfect!! Thanks for the insight! I just wasn't sure since I see everyone received their NOS a day or two later. Or perhaps that's just the date it is issued and they just receive it a week or so later. Will someone please add me to the list???

Thank you! I'm excited... should get my NOA soon (according to your list). Thank you for making the list!

Hello!!! I have great news! It looks like despite the fact that my I-751 arrived on Saturday at VSC instead of Monday it was not rejected! Praise God! This morning the checks are being processed, so I suspect that the NOA will be in the mail box before the weekend !!! So excited and relieved !!! Has this happened to anyone else, where the checks are processed first?

I remember you guys too! I've seen lots of names I recognise from AOS and that never-ending 'Notification of Potential Interview Waiver' thread!

We're mailing our packet off on Thursday and I know that @shell20 will be joining this thread at the end of February too.

This USCIS fun never ends, does it?!

Well I hope it does end soon! Lol it's too stressful dealing with USCIS. I am still waiting on either the rejected packet (because it arrived 2 day early on Saturday 2/11) so I can remail it, or the NOA1 letter saying it's all good. Pray for us! I hope we receive something by the end of this week!
