  1. A quick question to those couples living outside USA. Which choice do you make for the address:

Go with USCIS / NVC advice of using a US address ( we would use a relative)

Go with your current home address ( Europe in our case)

I ask because we called NVC today to say we should have had our letter back on Apr 4 or 5 and now on 18 not received, requested email and told 7-10 days for the number etc.

As unsure of amount of post we get prior to Consulate interview, reaching out for advice.

Well sadly they just received it yesterday and haven't assigned a case number yet., it is a pretty long time since the approval, yes, but for some reason it was sent out from Nebraska 12 days after approval.

I have just called NVC and found out we should have got a letter - they received our stuff and had it on their system 2 weeks ago .....

You may have to call daily. Sorry.

Wow! Thank you for your answer. I had no idea I am truly shocked that someone would borrow a child. And part of a deal for a green card even more sad! You made me a little worried. If anything I can provide them with dna evidence that my twins are his kids. Would that help?

STOP BEING PARANOID ...... USCIS is a monster of admin delay no more ..... scams are scams and you have zero issues, there is always 1% who are F****** and they live everywhere .....

Rest easy, USCIS trips your mind ..... we have enough madness in our lives without worrying about the "system"

And I got this response back,

    "Dear Megan Wenner,

Thank you for writing to the U.S. Visa Service Desk.

We understand that you would like to know if the issue with the ESTA will affect the U.S. Immigrant visa application of the applicant.

Please be advised that on the applicant's visa interview, a consular officer will determine whether or not the applicant is eligible for a U.S. visa. We are not able to advise whether or not the applicant is eligible for a visa in advance of the interview.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/gss_australia to share feedback on the services we provide.

    Have a pleasant day!

    Sincerely,
    U.S. Visa Service Desk"

    DO NOT WORRY

The local in-country Embassy / Consular staff know nothing, I was referred to the Department of Homeland Security, another country visa office (Frankfurt issues their own) and USCIs and each pointed me to another Department.

It was ESTA and I-130 related and in the end I travelled and had no issues at entry into New York (just the usual questions no more) - I had to travel and thought F""" this .... if I am barred that will be the last trip and forget the USA as a life plan ( I have been married to a USC for 20 years and still treated as if I am 3rd rate criminal).

Your clue as to the lack of professionalism is .....Please visit Survey Monkey ..... so a non-Government server collects private information and can be accessed by anyone ...... DO NOT WORRY ....  ignore 80% of the posts on VJ as well, you are the one who really knows your own facts and situation.

In fact the survey is meaningless as ANYONE can complete it ........ again pointing to the professionalism of the offices !!

the USCIS process means I will not be seen in life or death in Nebraska ..... :jest:

So the question is does having children with someone rule out all doubt for the person who will be interviewing us? Will they see oh they have kids so of course it's a bona-fide marriage and no further questions asked? Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you all

Who knows if the children are yours ...... USCIS start at level 0 ..... someone in the past will have "borrowed a child" for interview purposes and children do not confirm bona-fide marriage.

USCIS may even think you got married for the children after you got pregnant and gave birth and it is part of the "deal" to get a Green Card.

USCIS tough, expect the worst and it will be easier.

I unknowingly voted in federal election without knowing its illegal. Anybody know what is the first thing I should do that can help me when I apply for citizenship ? other than getting immigration attorney ?

I know it was a really big mistake since I just found out thats its illegal.

    Advice will be appreciated. Thanks

    De-register yourself as others suggest.

    Choices:

    • Move state or change your address, get another job elsewhere, lay low and stop posting on a public forum where IP addresses and other information can easily be obtained. Give you time to think and plan as this is possibly not going to disappear in the short-term.
    • The whole voting process and such things as the DVL offices being "targetted" to get sign-ups highlights one of many issues. For whatever reason what has happened has happened.
    • Get a lawyer, admit it and face likely consequences and a public trial and fall-out .... "you are one of those who faked the election ..you can see the headlines and Twitter" as someone has found one - hope you are also not Russian.
    • Join a religious order and hope a greater being will help you.

You certainly woke up the people in the forum .....it also is not a "only you" problem before all post telling you the world is going to end.

Hi everyone. We submitted our I-130 US Citizen with a received date of 9/7/2016 by Nebraska Service Center.  I have called the Customer Service center twice with no help they never gave a referral number, or  (SRMT) inquiry number.  I have done online status inquiries on their website daily saying its within processing times. We have never received RFE.

If anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated.

You have a receipt with a LIN number?  Form I-797C? If so you have your "reference number" and you got lucky won the lottery and got Nebraska.

If you read August filers ....I-130 and July, you will see the past wait times, many are still waiting to be processed.

Hi, I'm hoping that somebody can help me with my confusion. I'm in the process of getting a vaccination record in Canada.

I know that I haven't got all the vaccination as what's listed in the letter from NVC.

I can possibly get some of vaccinations in my city before going for Medical in Vancouver (I will need to fly there along with my son who is immigrating with me.)

Can anybody help me with whether or not I should try to complete all the vaccinations that are listed prior to medical or this should be done at Medical?

    Thank you.

Do not worry, take your records and you will find the horse doctor will still inject you to "maximise" revenues and to ensure you are "all legal".

If you get the bum shot, make sure you get someone else to drive you home or get a big cushion.

Thanks for the advice, I will request to speak with a tier 2 officer.

If you ask for a call back expect them to call and YOU have to be there to answer, if not, they log it as called but no reply, the person may try again but more likely just log it is called again but not there ...... it happens. For you, you get blocked for a month expediting and getting Tier 2 because of "the rules".

I called USCIS and received a response of "your petition is pending background check and FBI is the agent that does it".... is it a general response from them usually? Mine is just a standalone I-130 petition, so I thought they only check the legality and the bona fide of the marriage...

http://britsimonsays.com/administrative-processing-fbi-name-checks/   - 12- 360 days for an FBI check according to this website.

The background check level you get depends on the application data or, specifically, nationality, you will be assigned one or more categories or class. These are code named:

Bear (for foreign government officials, representatives to international organisations, and their families)

    Donkey (name hits, certain nationalities)

Merlin (for refugees and asylum seekers)

Eagle(certain nationals of Cuba, China, Russia, Iran, Vietnam)

    Hey guys,

My case was at Nebraska since August and just got approved. I've read something about calling to get the case number from them to pay fees to to speed up the process a bit. Can someone provide information on what I am supposed to do and where to call? Thank you.

2 weeks after approval date, contact NVC - BUT FIRST -

    • Update your timeline
    • Join NVC filers group - March 2017 and you will get help

Yes. Mine was August 8th as well. Speaking with a tier 2 officer explained to me that I was approved but website nor updated.

Updated and you did not know .... what do they spend the money on? Process is broken if they cannot approve you, auto send an email when a case status changes and as it is automated takes no-one any time.

    Like 1950 working in Nebraska.

We've been waiting now over 130 days for a NOA2, I know we are still in "normal processing time" per USCIS' website as our received date is November 3rd and they are "working on" October 15th cases. We are trying to keep positive but we've decided that if we do not hear anything, that I will move down to Chile just before my birthday June 3rd and we will get married and pursue the IR1/CR1 route.

Not a bad plan, medical expenses and reality of "Post Trump" are thoughts for us to pull out and live here.

Look how meek he is when today he sees Frau Merkel .....LOL.

Life is where you are and many people change their plans, learn Spanish and be back for the next election. Chile is not slow to act and develop: http://www.oecd.org/economy/chile-economic-forecast-summary.htm

There are opportunities and a support network in place so a soft landing and you get to enjoy the culture and life of your partner more deeply ....never a negative

Hey Guys, is there anybody else who is waiting to hear from USCIS after RFE sent in. I got a RFE on January 20th and sent what they asked for right away and they received it on 28th of January and haven't heard anything since then. I don't know what is taking so long. I see here a lot of people get approval in 2 weeks after RFE sent in but mine it's been more than 40 days.

Telephone them ,,,,, 40 days seems long.

He has a mechianical/industrial engineer job...thr chambers of commerce eont care...intern/volunteer and get US experinece in your resume and build your language/social skills.

The world is short of engineers and do not discount this method - you are from Canada which is full of engineers from Pakistan so as well as the formal network like this, other informal networks such as Pakistani Meetup groups and job related ones local to OP will apply.

ntern/volunteer and get US experinece in your resume and build your language/social skills.  - CONTRACTING is better option, you get paid not work for free and keep wages depressed with false hope and economic new Graduate employment.

Chambers of Commerce volunteering gets you access to attendee lists, an opportunity to call back later referencing the meeting ..... do not assume the language skills of the OP are not good either.

    Hi everyone,

Just joined this Forum. Want to know a little about Visa processes. My fiance is a US Citizen while I live in Pakistan. I'll get married soon when my fiance will come to Pakistan for marriage ceremony.

I am a doctor by profession, currently in process of ECFMG Certification. I've to take my USMLE exams as well. I don't have USA visa yet. Can anyone please guide me how it is possible to get married as well as enter US immediately after marriage to take my exams? It seems complicated. Thanks for your help. I hope we'll have great time together.

    Regards,

Think of Canada or the UK instead, much easier than the USA and both of you move 50% around the globe ,,,,, you will be welcomed as long as you avoid Grimsby ( Borat movie).

I am a student and I work part time. In order for my husband to live with me we have to live off campus. I told them in order to establish a residence with my husband , I would have to live off campus apartment is not covered under my scholarships. So it would be an out of pocket expense for my husband and I. I make enough to cover about 80 % of the rent but the rest would be covered by my husband. The apartment is giving me until July 31st to back out of my lease without penalty. If I do no tell them before the cut off date they will charge me the full year  Which will be around $7,000 dollars Which is an income loss of more than 75%. I provided them with a letter from my apartment and a statement from my school with what my scholarships cover.

Expedited for USD$ 7000 - somepeople have to pay more than that for legal services ...... WELL DONE .... studying business by chance? you have a future .... :D
