w'salam, first of heartiest congratulations for receiving well deserved email and whishing you good luck with expedite processing of visa.

    i) My Question do they send the old passport back to the applicant when renewing the passport?

ans: you need to request old passport back and send new documents ASAP without delays because your chances of expedite processing will be earliest.

ii) how do you submit the medial back to embassy?

ans: i'm not sure from which city you belong (i.e. islamabad, lahore or karachi) but nowadays medical is directly sent from authorized panelist to embassy and you don't need to carry reports. also your reports to carry to USA will be given right away which you don't need to carry to embassy.

hope you got answers of your queries, best of luck.

    best,

Thank You so much for your response. Its been 4 years so a lot of things change now and I did ask them to sent her old passport, and today they response me back that advised me  to contact with your panel physician for fresh medical if you want to process with your case so i hope they send her passport back too and i wish they could mention that they return her old passport. My mother is in Karachi so i am in process to get new passport and then will get her new medical.

  2. AOA everyone, I hope everyone are doing ok out there.. I finally receive a response from US Embassy Islamabad, and here is the response

We will forward your case for officer review and will get back to you for case requirements. We hope that this information is helpful.

My parents case has been in AP since June 2017. Did anyone receive any response from embassy since their case were in AP?

  3. AOA,

I hope everyone are doing well. Did anyone receive visa after they open. I am still waiting on my parents visa, my mother visa is ready and here is their response. i got this response on April 7 and since then no response from them. I sent inquiry but no response and i did contact my congressman last week. anyone got parents visa? please update. my father case is still in AP since June 2017...

hank you for your query. Our record indicates that this case was frozen and temporarily refused due to the Presidential Proclamation which was extended until March 31, 2021. We request that you wait for assistance as we begin opening up processing on visa cases that were frozen for over a year. When assistance is available and we are able to move forward with this case, our office will contact you with further instructions on which documents may have expired and what the next steps are. If you do not hear anything from our office within 6 months of this response, please send us a follow up inquiry.

Prepare to experience significant delays in visa issuance.  As of March 17, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad suspended routine visa services due to COVID-19 concerns and severely reduced staffing.  We will fully resume routine services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.

You mean they said you have to wait till december? How long you have been in admin process ?

i received the following response from embassy last week and has been in AP since June 2017. my mother case is now clear from AP, however my father case is still in AP.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Your immigrant visa is refused in accordance with Presidential Proclamation 10014 titled “Suspending Entry of Immigrants Who Present Risk to the U.S. Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the COVID-19 Outbreak.”

Proclamation 10014 will expire December 31, 2020, unless extended.  As a result, there is no action for you at this moment.  The U.S. Embassy will contact you directly with instructions after the proclamation expires.  You may check the status of your case at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker.

  5. AOA.. I received the following email after my mom case was forward to counselor on August 11 and got the message on August 28. Did anyone received the same message from embassy?

  7. Embassy finally response me today for my mother case... 😍😍....while my father case is still in AP...🙄🙄

Thank you for your query. Your request has been forwarded to a Consular officer for review and they will contact you with further guidance regarding your mother's visa. Note: You may still experience a delay with this admin process as our records indicate that approval is pending to process her case separately. If they are split then there is a chance that the officer will ask for further documents to complete her process.

Please be prepared to experience significant delays in visa issuance.  As of March 17, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad suspended routine visa services due to COVID-19 concerns and severely reduced staffing.  We will resume routine services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.  If you do not hear anything from our office within 6 months of this response, please send us a follow up inquiry.

thanks... I sent them inquiry in March 2020 and finally they response to my inquiry on May 12. any update on your case?

  9. Aslaam akeum all.

I hope everyone are doing fine an safe.. so i finally got response on May 12, 2020 from US embassy Islamabad that my mother visa is ready to be process after has been in AP since June 14 2017 😍 , while my father case is still under AP🤕 not what else they are checking and wish to process his case now since it has been now almost 3 years in AP. and here is the response from Embassy below

Our record indicates that the case is still pending under administrative process only for your father  and we shall contact the applicant(s) upon completion of this process.  Also, time duration for the process is always approximated therefore maximum cannot be predicted. If you do not hear anything from our office within 6 months of this response, please send us a follow up inquiry.

Our office is ready to process visa for your mother while your father he can get his visa later on upon completion of his administrative processing.

Please write us back if you want us to process your mother’s visa before your father so we can forward the request to the consular officer for review.

Please be prepared to experience significant delays in further processing of your case.  As of March 17, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad suspended routine visa services.  We will resume routine services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.  On April 22, President Trump signed a proclamation suspending entry into the United Sates of certain immigrants who present risk to the U.S. labor mark during the economic recovery following the COVID-19 outreach.  The proclamation is in effect for 60 days and prevents consular officers from issuing new visas to certain immigrants.   We appreciate your patience during this time.

    Hi all,

so finally my parents get their visas after a very long time. Here is my story. I applied for my parents in mid of October 2017. Uscis approved my mom case in May 2018 and dad case in June 2018.  I uploaded their documents in October 2018, and they had an interview in January 2019.

At the time of interview the CO said everything is ok but they need new photos cuz my parents wear glasses in photos. She said just gave me photos and then you will receive your visas in 10/12 business days in Karachi. But after one week my dad received an email of ds 5335 form, which we sent the same day. After that they just updated their cases on Jan 28. I sent them several inquiries but no response. In July, I contacted my senator, she emailed them and got response that they can’t predict that how much time it will take to complete the administrative process, the same reply that everyone gets. Anyways after that my parents cases got started to update. And finally in the end of July they asked for updated medical and photos. My parents sent them both in the end of august. After that they got several updates in September and October.
In November I again started to sent them email but the same reply I got. Their cases are in administrative process and we can’t predict.

On January 17,2020, their case status changed to expiring soon, then I again emailed them on January 22, because their medical will be expired in February  and got reply that they escalated the case to embassy. Jan 29, They received an email and call for re oath and fingerprints on February 4th. And  same day they issued the visa 😊 alhamdulilah

congrat... what you said in email.. and how did you send them an email.. my parents case been stuck in AP since June 2017 and still no update..

There is nothing you can do.. i am in the same boat too. My parents are in AP since June 2017. I did everything i could  and contact congressman many times and they received the same response under AP. best you can do it to reach out congress every 3 month and let them do the inquiry behalf of you.
