  1. Just accepted a job offer which is due to start 23rd July.

My EAD NOA1 was 20th April so 23rd July is outside the 90 day deadline.

Question is do you normally get teh EAD within the time frame, and does the EAD allow you to work anywhere etc as the employer said they will need a number of the form or something when I start!

Anyone had experience, one hand im ecstatic about offer, other hand worried as I know what USCIS can be like

  2. Must have gotten lost in the mail. Did your biometrics letter not have 2 different MSC numbers on it, one for EAD and one for AOS? I forget how that works (and don't have my copy of that letter handy).

The cash has been chequed for both EAD and AOS, The letter before the bio appoontment letter only has 1 reciept number for EAD, nothing for the AOS? The actual Biometrics form was taken when I went to the biometrics?

Maybe I should call them, does anybody know how to call and actually speak to a person and not a machine

  3. I have been made job offers to start on the 23rd July, My notice date for I-765 was 20th April, so all going well I should have EAD by the time my job is supposed to start. My question is if I have not recieved it in the 3 month limit is there anyway to get it directly on 20th July so I don't lose this position?

  4. How do you know if you have had a touch?

    I logged into the USCIS site with my reciept number and this is all it says;

Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On April 20, 2007, we received this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. Does this mean I haven't had a touch since they recieved it? I had my Biometric on 11th May, surely it should be updated from there!

  5. I have recieved my NOA1 regarding the work permit with a notice date for April 20th 2007, It still hasn't arrived in the mail yet!

My question is, if I still haven't recieved it after 3 months i.e 20th July can i go down and collect it in person form my local office? I am sure I read something like that a while ago.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it!

  6. You need to go to a civil surgeon in this US, to find one near you Click here

They may tell you you need the entire medical, you don't,just the vaccine suppliment, call around untill you find a decent price (can range from $10 - $50 for this form) and that they udnerstand what you need.

You take the form you got of your vaccine at the medical and your vaccine records, they'll put it on the form and seal it up in an envelope and voila!

Cheers for that, got an appointment Monday costing $20 which is very fair.

So I just send the package they give me off with the rest of the AOS forms.

    Again thanks!

  7. Well as a scouser I think this thread is 'proper boss like'

I think in Liverpool we have our own seperate language anyway so have to make a real effort to adapt and speak slower in the states!

When I get bladdered though I start to speak as if I had never left the place....

The word 'Alright' always seems to confuse the americans, we know its just a hello but alot of them seem to think it's a crazy question. Also when they ask me "Hi, how are you' I always reply 'sound mate' that also seems to get me a puzzled look.

And if one mor person asks if I'm Scottish, Irish, Martiian

  8. Hey guys hope everyone is doing good!

Just about to send my AOS package of and have seen that I need to have something called the I-693A form included. Now alls the doc in London give me was a sheet showing what needles they gave me, no official looking form saying I-693 on.

ANyone else have experience with this and how to go about it?

    Cheers

    Davd!

  9. The federal tax return is the form 1040. You have two options, if you have them send photocopies of your 1040, W-2(s)

and any other IRS forms you filed with your last taxes, or you can get the IRS to give you a tax transcript and file that with your I-864.

So is this just the forms that I sent to the IRS, I sent mine online so I just print them off and use them?

I have the form 1040 that I sent to the IRS, just isn't signed as it was done online but still has all my tax information

    Thank You

    Amie

  10. Hi Everyone,

My husband and I are filling our AOS and we are a little confused on the supporting documents required for I-864. In the instructions it says:

"You are required to provide proof of employment and a photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued transcript of your complete Federal income tax return for your most recent tax year. If you were not required to file a tax return for your most recent tax year, you must provide an explanation"

I am confused as to what the 'complete federal income tax return' is. I thought it was the W2 but the instructions go on to say that the W2 is seperate from this. My other thought was that the federal return is the refund you receive from the government after filing taxes, but I received only a direct deposit back from H&R Block so this can't be right either.

    Can anyone help?

    Amie
