My wife checked our account on Saturday and an approval letter was in our documents! It had only just been uploaded on the Friday 16th but we haven't yet received anything else. I put this down to the long weekend for Juneteenth, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with seeing the letter in the documents before recieving anything?

Hello! Congratulations to you! We were also approved on Friday! Nebraska then transferred to Cali. I saw our approval on Thursday under documents but it’s dated as Friday 6/16. Also received 2 emails from NVC on Monday. Things are rolling now!

So, I just remembered the name of the only person at the embassy in Cairo who performed a miracle for me and at the time my fiancé. His name is Shariff. He speaks perfect English and I thought he was American for a moment. He is very nice super patient and beyond helpful. Maybe you can ask for him? Good luck!

I just want to say and this might not be the case with you but I have had zero good experiences with anyone at the US Embassy in Cairo. I’m sorry this has happened to you and I hope it gets resolved very soon. All the employees I’ve had direct communication with have been useless. Good luck to you

Hi there, 

does anyone know how to go about getting an extension on NOA 2? The deadline for mine is 10/14/2017.  My fiancé is in Abu Dhabi UAE and moving to Cairo Egypt he has not completed interview, medical or background check. We are trying to get our case transferred to Cairo. I have sent multiple emails made many phone calls to USCIS, National Visa Center, American Embassy in Cairo and American Embassy in Abu Dhabi. I am frustrated beyond belief at this point. I was told I might have to refile completely I really hope not. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

we are hanging in there, the process is quite complicated, if there is a process? Going on 74 days detained now and I've spoken with him twice from jail. Still waiting on first court hearing supposedly 8/13 last 2 dates cancelled. Thank you for asking I hope everything is going well for you🙏🏽😊

Hi and thanks for asking. It's complicated actually, he had a court hearing in June I don't know what the outcome was. He has another hearing in September it's the final one. His family doesn't speak much of what has happened and there's many different stories. It's really very frustrating at times. For the most part my fiancé is good. I'm still trying to find a lawyer who will help me but so far nothing. I'm hoping the one I spoke to on Saturday will help us but then again I don't know. The court system in the Middle East is so so different from our own. I'm guessing because my fiancé is a foreigner to that country is why we have yet to find a lawyer who will take the case. He is Egyptian working in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It seems quite the norm to take a natural born citizens word over a foreigner regardless. I have not spoken to him since May 21st. I pray that the court will release him in September but really I won't know anything until I have a lawyer. In the meantime I've been educating myself with their justice system. Last week our paperwork was sent to embassy in Abu Dhabi. I'm hoping and praying for a positive ending to all this. For now there's not much I can do but wait and pray.

Our file date is March 13, I posted a couple weeks ago about the internet being down in UAE where my fiancé lives. May 22nd was the last time I received a message from him it was 6 days later I found out he is being detained in a jail in Abu Dhabi. I'm not 100% sure of the details however, what I know is a friend owed my fiancé money and wrote him a check. My fiancé signed it took it to the bank and bank personnel checking it said it was a fake check. (Not sure what that means exactly) bank ppl called police and my fiancé has been detained ever since. They are charging him with a felony.  He has never been in trouble with the law before, ever. Just a few short weeks before we would get our NOA 2 and we were both looking forward to everything after that. I am in the process of hiring a lawyer in Abu Dhabi. Does anyone know if he will still be able to immigrate to the US if for some reason the felony cannot be cleared? I cannot believe this is happening 😭😭😭💔

Nope. It works the same as WhatsApp, it uses data or wifi and not network minutes. We even FaceTime audio sometimes if the connection on Whatsapp is bad. I've never had a problem with being charged anything extra for it in the last 2-3 months since we've both had iPhones. 

I understand now, we both have iPhones so FaceTime is another possibility thank you what a great idea😊

If you are in United States and your fiancé in India isn't it expensive to use FaceTime?

@Ladystarlight you should download 'what's app' app. It's a lot better than skype and easier to use!! You can message and video call each other!! My fiancé is in India and we always use it and it works great 🙂

Thank you! When I speak to my fiancé again I will let him know we have so many video/chat apps lol none of them seem to work all that well. We will give What's App a try 

Hi there, just wondering if anyone besides myself has fiancé in Abu Dhabi? I'm frustrated that the internet has been down since Sunday it's difficult enough this process and waiting but to not have one message, email or skype due to internet problems really sucks. This seems to happen a lot. Does anyone or has anyone experienced this?
