    forms for social security card

    My husband came to the USA on a K-3 nonimmigrant visa. We applied for his social security card and got a letter stating :

    We cannot give you a social security card at this time because:

    You have not given us the documents we need to show U.S. citizenship or lawful alien status.

    You must have a I-688 or I-766 along with the I-94 to get a social security number.

    When we was there we showed the lady his passport and she made a copy of the visa and a copy of his Moroccan I.D. After getting the letter I looked on the list of forms for uscis and I did not see the forms they are asking for. Any ideas, anyone??

    We got married the first time I went there. Yes, we did all the running around to get it all done for us to get married. It took us about 2 weeks to get everything done to get the approval to get married. It was worth it to us since we had already known each other for soooo long. The consular officer said to Othman that is good that we knew each other for a year. See it was not a red flag for us to get married when I went there since we had already been talking online for a year. I think the ones who meet too soon should not get married since that could be a red flag.

    For us, K-3 was definitely the way to go since it only took us from July 5 when I sent the fom off to Nov 19th when he got here in Texas. But, I do know it is very rare for a person to get so lucky since I read the timelines for all types of visas.

    Tattoos and piercings

    When we first start talking I told Othman about my tattoos. He wanted me to show him alot. He accepted my two tattoos but he does not want me to get anymore cuz he says he wants to see my skin. I have paw prints on my leg and his family saw them when I was there. They were curious about them. Also, I have one on my arm.

    Othman is pretty liberal I think about some things.

    A few posts back you said you had already found it and saw that I had already handed him his head on a platter. Well I don't think I ever said a word to him about it and that thread is only the tip of the iceberg. Again my comment was directed at the OP not you or anyone else. If you have not kept up with the threads and this situation then I don't see why you are even debating me about it. I made a comment, not a debate.

    I didn't say I found the original thread. I said I found one from OCTOBER where Judy said she loved her husband. The original is from June. I commented on how If you gave him heck then, that was the place to do it, not here. That is my opinion, but the reason why I have posted a link to the original thread is because it simply not fair to judge someone on the comments of another, in this case, you, JP.

    It seems clear that his post was taken out of context and distorted. There is nothing about divorcing, nothing that, imo, raises a red flag that he is using his wife. As I said before, I have communicated with him via PM and did not get those kinds of vibes. The June thread did not give them to me either.

    I would suggest that if someone wants to criticize someone for a prior post, they should link to that post to allow others to make their own judgments. It was wrong to ruin what should have been a congratulations thread for Hicham913 based on speculation when the thread itself could have offered the truth as one cares to see it.

    You are so right szsz this was suppose to be a congratulations thread.. The negative comments could have been posted in a seperate thread.

    Thank you everyone. I am so very happy that my prayers were answered. It has been so quick for us as I just got started with all of this on July 5, 2006. I am soooo sorry for those who are still waiting. :( It is hard to understand why a very very select few get the visa so quickly and why others have to wait months or even a year. Nothing a couple can do to prepare if they get a name hit. But, for everything else my advice is to read as much as u can on other peoples experiences at the interviews. So, you can try to be prepared for anything. Also, triple check all forms before sending them in. I was so worried about Othman having 2 forms to fill out to bring to the interview. We went over them while chatting online. But, I was still worried cuz I am a worrywart in the worse way. I nagged him quite a bit in the days leading up to the interview.

    I wish for visas to be issued soon to those still waiting. Keep the faith!

    Also , for those whose interviews are coming up soon make sure u leave nothing at home cuz u never know if they might want to see it or not. Be well prepared and confident. And pray ...pray...pray...pray

    HI everybody. I just posted under embassy reviews about Othmans expericence at the consulate. Thank goodness he looked over my employment info that morning cuz the CO asked him a question we did not even think of. The CO wanted to know the name of the company I work for!!

    Othman says at the end of the interview he was given a small green receipt and was told to please come tomorrow at 3 pm to get the visa and they will keep the passport until he gets it tomorrow. I will post in the morning after work under embassy review what all was said at his interview.

    He will buy his plane ticket on friday. We are hoping he will be able to leave on sunday. :dance::dance:

    Shoot. I tried calling him several times at 5am my time and tried again at 6 am. First a recording in french then in english. It says ur call did not go through. Please try again..............Maybe it is because his cell phone is turned off??? Shoot............ it is noon there. Surely he is not still at the consulate. I will try again in an hour. Also, I told him yesterday to call me if I could not get in touch with him.

    Hello everyone,

    Thank you for the wishes. I think I am more nervous than Othman. I can't believe the day is finally here tomorrow. I will call him at 5 am my time which is 11 am there. But, if he gets finish before then he is suppose to call me. I am so anxious to know something. After I find out I will post to let everyone else know the outcome. I am hoping for the best. If he gets the visa he might be here Sunday or Monday.
