  1. I've just been sorting out my paper work from my interview....and have just realised that i still have DS-230 part II. The lady didn't ask me for it or anything.....do I need to contact them about this?

    Thanks :)

They didn't take it from my guy either, when he had his interview. He's keeping it, just in case.

  2. Thanks for all the good wishes and vibes!

    I am happy to report:

    SUCCESS!!!

Well, like Barry Bonds' lifetime stats, it's with an asterisk, as Mr. Psho-to-be still has his passport -- he explained to the interviewer that we were booked to Amsterdam on Monday, so the interviewer told him "I'm approving your visa, but here's this form -- call SMS when you're back, and they'll collect your passport, we'll insert the visa, and SMS will courier it back to you."

So we were delighted that we don't have to stress about our holiday in the Netherlands.

Oddly, they didn't collect DS 230 Part 2.

No "welcome to the United States" but he did get a "congratulations."

I did look around to see if I could recognize Dan, but I didn't. I hope his interview went well!

No celebrities either, but a herd of Virgin Atlantic flight attendants, though.

SO PLEASED THIS PART IS OVER!!!!

  3. Chopping Broccoli by Dana Carvey from the SNL skit.

Whenever I bring out the broccoli- Mel gets on the piano and sings it for me.

    LOL!!!

We have two songs: the "I'm A Giraffe" song from the "Zoo Animals On Wheels" episode of "Get A Life."

The other is that Darkness song: "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" but I call it the "Sing like a Girl" song, because I can never remember the lyrics, and I sing "Here's the part where I sing like a girl!"

    Touching you, touching me

touching you, god you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love

Here's the part where I sing like a girl

  4. How odd.

We have several at my office, so that's where I found mine. Maybe if you know anyone in the real estate biz, they'd have one at their office that they'd let you use. Otherwise, $10 or so isn't that bad.

We have a notary on staff, but since this involves salary etc., I'd rather not share with the office.

I'm just annoyed at my bank. Grr. Grr. Grr.

    One more dopey notary-type question:

What else needs to be notarized? I have my tax transcripts, and my last tax return (although that's duplicated in the tax transcripts). Anything else?

  5. Sooooooooo... our interview is July 31 -- if all goes well, we'll be approved, and we'll get the visa.

We booked travel to Amsterdam for Monday, August 6, which may be cutting it close for getting his passport back.

Alarmed, I told my guy, and he said, "I can travel on my driver's license -- they don't like it much, but I can do it."

Is this true, because he's going from EU state to EU state? We're flying, if that makes a difference.

  6. Well color me silly for not remembering that!

Obviously there's no harm in it, but I just don't see the point, particularly if all I'd want a copy for is my own reference (in which case a photocopy does just fine).

Well, I don't want to spend money I don't need to -- so I'm glad I just need the one bit notarized!

    Thanks, Tracy!

  7. I don't recall seeing that. I only had 1 notorized copy (and then a photocopy of that). They took the notorized copy from Chas.

At AOS, you use the I 864 (or I 864 EZ), which no longer has to be notorized.

Phew. Thanks! That's what I thought.

I read that weird tidbit in the "Tips" section:

When you fill out the I-134, fill out the one form, then you can duplicate it to make two copies more, and

sign all 3 in the presence of the notary, that way you end up with 3 certified copies (you can copy this

form, it says so on the instructions.) and you only have to fill it out once.

  8. If this needs to be moved, that's fine, but I was just wondering why I need 3 notarized copies of the I-134? I think I read that in one of the guides here, but it doesn't say why, and I've not seen anything else about 3 notarized copies. Having 3 copies isn't mentioned in my Nolo press book. either.

Does the London Embassy need this? Is this to have it for AOS?
