Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to hear about what happened. Best of luck with the CR-1.

Do you know if it was an RFE or a NOID or a Denial that they issued when it was returned? I'm just curious.

It was a NOID actually, because of the mistake in the application and they thought we were lying, so we had to submit some documents to prove that it’s a mistake and after a couple of months the petition got approved, just wait for their letter it will indicate what’s the issue, and be prepared to reply them with what they need, wish you luck with it.

    Hello

Have you heard anything back about your case? would you please tell what happened afterwards? Our case just changed status to "reopened for reconsideration" as well..

Sorry for late reply, actually we had to hire an attorney because there were a mistake in the application which led it to be reopen again, so we submitted the required documents and the case got approved by the uscis, in our interview we got put in AP and then the petition got expired by itself, so we decided to get married and now we are going to do the cr1 visa. Hope it works because me and my wife are frustrated with this long waits and forced separation.

  3. Hey guys,

Me and my wife just got married in egypt and we are thinking about filling the cr1 or k3 application, and I got the marriage certificate translated to English, do I need to notarized it at the us embassy to use the certificate for the application, or the translation will work fine, and my wife travelled back to the us, can I do the notarization for her at the embassy or the us citizen is the one must do it ?

    Thanks

when I e-mail them they respond with the same message "Please note that your case is under Undergoing Mandatory Administrative Processing. The time needed to review an individual case is difficult to determine, once the process is complete we will notify you with the next step" the only time they responded differently is when I asked if they received the additional docs requested and they said yes.

you mailed NVC or the embassy at cairo? can you please send me their mail. thanks

It seems that most people in Cairo are going on AP. My fiance has his interview soon, we are trying to make sure we have all the documents that people were asked for during the interview even though they were not listed on the required documents.

@MenaMariel did you have your family registry? keed 3aeli? Apparently a lot of people were asked about this during their interview to ensure they are not married. My fiance requested his and the individual one (keed nafsi) just in case.

No they didn't ask for it nor any other documents, just gave me the passport and put me into AP and told me wait for the reply.

That bothers me too that they didn't take his passport but I have talked to someone hear on VJ that just got approved a few months ago and he is in the states now. He also had the same person Interview him. He also told me that the same man has interviewed some of his friends in the past and he didn't take their passport just put them on AP but got approved later on and had to send in their passport. So that gives me hope knowing this.

That's a very valuable infos, maybe he likes to do some checks before his final decision always , but still we only have to wait which is so frustrating.. thanks a lot for ur infos and wishing u the best with u and ur husband . Pls inform me if there's an update and I'll do so too

My husband told me that the console was very hard on him, but my husband answered every question that were asked of him. The console asked him the same question twice but in different ways. I think the interview went well for him. Because if he wanted to deny my husband he would have done so at his interview. He gave my husband a white paper and he only put an X on Administrative processing. He told my husband that he is not approve nor denied and they would contact him in a month but we have not heard of anything as of yet. The console did Not put an X next to his passport I mistakenly said the first time. The console gave my husband back his passport which in my opinion I don't think is a bad thing like some people have said because I have read on VJ that this has happen to some people on here where they sent in their passport on a later date. So I have hope, faith and I trust God and he is in control. Was the console that interviewed you a very young man like in his 30's.. Window.. I think 14 or 15.?

Yesss it was this one on widow 14, actually he wasn't extremely rude but he was yes kinnda aggressive and hard, the woman b for him that I handled my paper to was very rude actually and acting in a bad way, and yes I think if they wanna deny they would have already did it, maybe they wanna do some security checks or something I dunno, what just bothers me is that in most cases when they wanna do checks they keep the passport.

Your passport is probably expiring, that is why he put an X next to passport.

Hello Roma Iam sorry you have to wait too, I don't think in my case it's about the passport cuz it's valid till years in front, the problem that when they give u the passport it's said to not be a good sign, but I'll hope for the best , how was ahmed interview btw ?

Administrative processing can take as long as they want. From a few days to weeks to months to (rarely) years. A 221g white slip is not necessarily a denial but it isn't an approval also, since they gave you your passport back. So yes, it can be a bad sign they gave your passport back but I wouldn't lose hope.

There might be more to this case than you tell us, we (I) don't know.

Thanks a lot for your help, all what we can do is to wait now..

Looks like you are under regular administrative processing. It means you have to sit back and wait until they find you eligible for the K-1 visa as the officer did not make a final decision at your interview. Once AP is done, and you are found eligible, they will ask you to send your passport in so they can issue the K-1 visa.

Do you think this is a bad sign to give the passport back I mean is it regular in this case or not ? And how long this process is estimated to take ? Thanks a lot for ur help

Keeping the passport = good sign
Giving the passport back = bad sign

Does the paper say you need to provide additional evidence/documents? Do you have any red flags in your relationship?
Age difference? Religion difference? Met just once?

Not at all our relationship is tottaly true and we are engaged for 2 years now and love each other so much ,we meet 4 times before and we have the same religion and the age is perfect. But Maybe cuz I applied to a study visa before and got denied, Cuz the console asked me abt it. Do u think ya th case ?

  12. 5 minutes ago, Dee elle said:

It means they want you to submit the documents requested.. if you dont submit the requested documents, you will be denied...  submit them and see where the process goes then.. administrative processing is the generic term used for post interview processing... it doesnt mean either denial or approval in the future...it just means more processing is needed...... keep going!,

They don't ask for any papers just signed infront of administrative process and the passport that he gave me back and told me to wait, do u have any idea about this process or what to do ?

  13. 5 minutes ago, Dutchster said:

When they give you your passport back, that's usually not a great sign but it doesn't mean a denial either. Read extremely good what the paper says and deliver the documents they want to see before they approve your visa and put it in your passport.

The console didn't ask for any documents, just marked infront of passport and administrative process and told me to wait till they contact me .i dunno why they gave me the passport and sign infront of required documents!

  14. Ok, I just got out of my k1 interview in the Cairo consulate. The console gave me my passport and a paper saying you need to send these documents to complete the case and checked infront of passport and administrative process and told me wait for our reply. Iam really frustrated after all this pressure all what I get is more waiting time. Does anyone know what this means? Is it a sign for denial? And how long it gonna take or if there's a way to do abt it ?.

    thanks all,

One of the two things, NOA2 or the April 26th letter was a mistake by USCIS. It does happen..

You need to try to talk to a tier 2 person at USCIS and find out if your petition actually was approved and sent to NVC or not.

Can also try calling NVC and inquiring if they have your case or not.

Perhaps your case went to NVC and was returned to USCIS for some reason?

    Hi all,

so today we got our notice of intent to deny, the reason was that cuz last year we did a k1 visa and my fiancé made a mistake taht she wrote in marriage history that she was married before and wrote her stepdad name cuz she though the question is about her mom not her and we got a RFE from USCIS back then to prove that she's divorced ( while in fact she's never been married and it's just a mistake) we didn't continue the case and it got denied! So this years case they noticed that again and said it was approved by mistake and they gonna deny it if we didn't send them a divorce papers or death certificate! So the question now how to prove to them that it's a mistake and my fiancé never got married before and she's single and how to do this process ? Does anyone have some experience with NIOD ?

  16. Hi Everyone,

We made a k1 case th last year and got a RFE for it cuz my fiancé did a mistake that she wrote in the marriage status her father in law name cuz she thought it's a question about her mom not her, we didn't continue the case and didn't send any proves to tell them that this is a mistake and the case got denied.

So so this year we did another k1 case and it got approved the last match, then the case status changed and found that they reopened the case and cancelled the approval and sent us a letter of intent to deny the petition, cuz they stated that in our last year case we said that my fiance was married and we didn't then any divorce certificate to prove that she's able to get married!

So so we have nearly a week to send them proves that this is a mistake and my fiancé is single and never got married before, what do you guys this the documents needed to prove this? And anyone had an experience with niod before ? How long it takes till they reply and is there's a big chance of denial even we sent them the required documents ? Thanks all for sharing ur experiences and ideas .

Are you absolutely certain there wasn't some mistake in the paperwork you submitted?

It could have been something simple that was just incorrect.  Could be they caught a discrepancy.

Its unlikely calling uscis will get you anywhere.  But if you don't get the notice letter after a week or so you can definitely ask them about that.

we sent all the documents they asked for with proofs, and I think if something was missing they would ask for RFE not send NIOD directly and the fact that they approved and then send me a niod makes us very confused, we are waiting for it, it was sent on the 26 so it should be reaching us in a couple of days I guess.

Thanks for your reply, actually we got our NOA2 letter at 27 of march and it can't be a mistake then we called NVC AT 16 of April to enquire about the case that took so long before we get the reopen of the case  mail at 24 of April, once we got the mail my fiancé called USCIS but talked to tier 1 the one answered was like reading from the site and said we don't have information why they did open it again and we have to wait for the actual letter , and now at 26 of April we got this NIOD that says they sent us a notice about the decision they are going to take, we really don't know what's happening but it seems there's no fault and they are actually opening the case once again and denying it for a reason we don't know, and it's really frustrating to wait for the actual letter! Are there any cases like that before ?

  19. So after I got my NOA2 of approval the last month and was waiting for our case to be sent to NVC, we found that our USCIS status has changed a couple days ago to case reopened for reconsideration, and today the case changed to ( we mailed you a notice explaining our actions ) stating ;

    Your Case Status: Decision

On April 26, 2017, we began reviewing your Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice and submit any requested materials. If you do not receive your notice by May 10, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
    ..........

We have googled it and found that it's a NIOD and they intend to reject the petition . We are really confused and don't know what's happening, our petition was approved and now everything suddenly changed and going to be rejected.

Does anyone have any infos about it ? Thanks all
