Urgh really??? I got an RFIE for my AOS yesterday online, just waiting for hard copy to find out what its for.  So frustrating to wait this long only to find out now!  Wish they would pre-screen earlier on in the process.  Will this effect my EAD?  My NOA is dated 11/16.

We received an RFIE on our AOS and immediately responded - but this was about 45 days after filing. It did not affect our EAD - received approval on day 95. And for us, it apparently didn't affect our AOS too much, as this morning we were scheduled for an interview.

Short story : RFIE - request for initial evidence ( restart the clock) and RFE - request for evidence (just pausing the clock). This is what i was told

In our service request response (which we got the day before the EAD approval) - it said that our EAD would be processed 90 days from the response received to our RFIE. Which would have been from 12/14 - but it ended up processing at 95 days from original filing date.

Good news then lol. I spoke with uscis in the morning and they told me that the clock restarts from the date they received our response to RFIE ( January 17 ) so I was pretty scared. How long it took after they got your response until you got approved?

I don't think that really matters - as you can get an RFIE at a different time period in the EAD/AOS application process. Received ours 12/9 - they received response by 12/14 I think. EAD approval 2/7.

Congrats!!! I did the same thing as you! They received my documents on Nov 7th and I opened a USCIS service request on Feb 2nd. But my status haven't changed at all. My case is active for 94 days :(

We received our approval on Tuesday - on day #95. I think yours should be coming up soon - be patient. We even had an RFE on our I-485. Now I'm just waiting for the USCIS website to say they mailed the card. Just says new card is being produced. Haha this whole process sucks. Sometimes I wish I didn't know about this forum - since I feel the need to check all the time!

Different categories process at different speeds.

Basically that means that it's not as relevant for a K1 like myself to compare with your case.

If you look at the "other visa" option on the VJ site - it states: "entered on a non-immigrant visa, married US Citizen, applying for adjustment of status" - which is exactly what we are.

Feeling discouraged this morning. Filing date for EAD is 11/4. We put in a service request last week. Answered overnight that as we got an RFE on our i-485 relating to a translation of the birth certificate - that the EAD will be processed within 90 days of 12/14 (the date they received our follow up). Which pushes us back to 3/14. I feel like I see people get RFEs on the I-485 and it hasn't affected their EAD application. So upset right now if we have to wait another month when we should be hearing now...

I guess I was stressing for no reason... just received an email that our EAD was approved this morning and a card is being produced. Beyond thrilled!

The USCIS app didn't notify me. The email generated is what I noticed. I had to refresh the app to show the status change - so the app did not push out a notification.

I have put in the same dates as I did during the i-129f process. There it says "i-219f sent" this is the day I sent it... I have considered this the same as the filed date i.e the day I file/send it i the same day.

Then there is the received date which yes they input into the system, but there is no field for entering this in VJ. Then there is the NOA date...  The timeline processing data counts from the filed date.

Technically I sent it on 10/31, filed date was 11/4, and receipt date is 11/18. If it was based on my "sent" date I should have definitely been approved bt now. They are currently on 11/5 - as estimated by this site. But obviously that is not all exact.

You don't enter the received date in VJ only the date filed. This is what it counts from. Just check someone in the October thread that already was approved ;)

But the received date is the date filed. Then there is the "receipt" date. Per FAQs, received date (which is also shown on the USCIS website) is the date application was put into the system. Receipt date is the date the NOA was printed.

Haha I can only imagine! Quick question....Visa Journey processing date is from the date the case was received or the notice date? (My case has a gap of 16 days so it is a big difference lol)

Now you have me second guessing myself. Input later date and now it says estimated 2/5-2/9 on the site. Haha I don't care anymore - this process is nuts. Based on this we should probably hear something within the next week. Maybe this will stop me from checking the website so often.

see the following FAQ link from this site: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Notice_of_Action_(NOA)

The received date is the date it is entered into the system. The notice date is when the letter is printed. I've been using the received date. I mailed my applications on 10/31, received 11/4.
