That is not an issue.  You just need to show how you all communicated over the course of your relationship.  Pictures, phone records, etc will help.  I will post a list later or tomorrow of everything we took to the interview.

I think they are still scheduling into next week.  Hang in there my friend...the wait is almost over.

Good luck and all will be well!

You have a great sense of smell @James-Bond007! We got approved! The interview went smoothly. I spent more time waiting to be interviewed than at the interview itself. I got there at 8:20 for my appointment at 9:30. My husband came with me but they didn't allow him to come in with me. I got a number and sat there for an hour, got called to get the rest of the paperwork they requested on an email. Sat again for another maybe 30 minutes. I was very nervous cause I didn't take my X-rays. The X-rays were saved in a CD and they do not allo people to bring in CDs, USB memories and similar things. Imagine how worried I was when I saw everyone with the CD. I swore I would get a green sheet telling me to come back with the CD.

Thankfully that didn't happen ???? in fact, I spent all night printing pictures and other information and they didn't ask for it! They didn't ask me for proof of bonafide marriage at all. I would say the interview lasted 1-2 minutes. They asked me around 6 or 8 questions.

    -what's my husband's name?

-when did I get married? (Date)

    -what does he do?

-who does he work for? (Family business)

-which other members of his family work in the business?

-how many siblings does he have?

-what's my father in law's name?

When he asked the last question he was already reaching for the paper they give that says your visa is approved ? Everyone that great and smoothly. One piece of advise tho. My country is know for being insecure but there's crime everywhere. Make sure to stay aware of your surroundings. The US embassy in my country is in one of the nicest areas of my city and there are a lot of cops around. But when I was crossing the street I figured I would join my husband at the McDonald's close to my embassy, where he was waiting for me. I was very happy and as I crossed the street I saw 2 very odd looking men that when they saw me crossing the street they stared at me then stared and nodded at each other. One of the man started walking down the street while the other one stayed behind. Big red flag to me. I decided to stay on the corner next to a cop just to make sure nothing happened to me. The cop asked me what was I waiting for since it's not allow to have people waiting close to the embassy surroundings. I told him what had happened and he allowed me to stay next to him until my husband got there and picked me up.

The cop said they work in the area and they're there every day but that just seemed fishy to me. Anyways, this was just some advise to make sure you don't let your happiness distract you from the surroundings, especially when you leave the embassy.

The consular officer told me I would get my passport back within 2 weeks, but most people here and friends of mine told me they get it within 2-3 days so hopefully I'll have my paperwork and passport by Wednesday next week ?

Good luck to everyone still waiting, believe me, the wait was worthy. The happiness and peace you feel when you hear "your visa is approved" makes it all better.

  2. Just came back from the medical examination ?? super tired. Don't plan anything for that day since this proces will take all day. And even if it doesn't take all day you will be left with no energy to do anything else. Just for FYI to everyone I got 3 shots, influenza, mmr and tdap. Some underage kids at my location got 5, idk what the other 2 were for. If anyone has any questions about medical in El Salvador go ahead and ask away. I might not reply today cause I'm exhausted and will be  taking a nap. But I'm so happy this is over. One step closer to being with my hubby ?❤️❤️ Interview is in 2 weeks.

I haven't been on here in a couple weeks, but wanted to let everyone know that my husband and I are currently in Ciudad Juarez - we've completed his medical and biometrics appointments, and everything was a breeze! It's actually been fun to be here. His interview is at 7:15 AM tomorrow morning - wish us luck!! And I'll catch up on all the messages when we finally return home :) Hope everyone is doing well!

That's awesome! I have my medical on Friday and I am so nervous ?! It's very expensive and I hope the cost stays low. My husband will join me here 3 days before my interview so hopefully we'll be able to celebrate together the approval ?. The day is almost here. Good luck to everyone!

I have a question about rescheduling our interview appointment at the London embassy.  We contacted the embassy about the possibility of moving it up a week or so in order for my husband to be here while we're off from school for spring break.  They directed us to the website ais.usvisa-info.com that shows the calendar for the embassy in real time and allows one to change their interview.

My question is do you have to cancel your current appointment before you can see the calendar?  I just don't want to give up the appointment without knowing if there is an earlier one available.

Anyone have any experience to share regarding this?

I'll share you my experience, different embassy though.

I registered on their website as the guide on the nvc website said to do. They had available an interview for February 22nd when mine was scheduled for March 10. I called the embassy and spoke to a rep that told me I couldn't rescheduled an appointment made by the NVC because they know how long it'll take for everything the embassy needs to do to be done. So I was left with my appointment for March the 10th.

Try calling your embassy to see what they can do. It all depends on the embassy I think, I've read other reviews saying that they were allowed to change their appointment. But my case didn't apply.

I hope this helps, Good luck ?

So When I called the NVC they just gave me my appointment date but when I downloaded the pre-interview checklist it said we had to register with the VIC (Visa Information Center). I started to do that but I decided to wait until I get the interview letter since I have not gotten it either.  I have not called the embassy yet as I was just trying to figure out this whole medical appointment thing.  I want to travel with my husband since his in the states but I had to figure out the timing before I can get a clearance from my job.  Since his is a one way ticket to El Salvador we have to time it out so we  get everything he needs.  I will keep you posted once I get my interview letter. -_-

I went to that website but our country wasn't even on the list so I didn't do anything with that, I call the embassy and that's what I was told. I'll let you know if I find out about anything else

    Hey Fatima,

Did you register your appointment already?  My husband just made his medical appointment.

Hi, I actually just got off the phone with the embassy. The NVC website instructs you to go to their cgi to schedule the appointment there but the customer service rep told me that we are not required to register. I haven't received the confirmation email from the nvc about the appointment so I was waiting for that, in case the medical appointment required me to give some sort of number or info that was only on that confirmation email. Did you ask any questions?

Hey guys! I'm little late in announcing this, because I've been working and busy giving all my loved ones the exciting news... MY VISA WAS APPROVED YESTERDAY!!! I'm over the moon and can't wait to finally begin married life! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

To all those worried about upcoming interviews, there's nothing to worry about. It's very casual, very easy, and they're really friendly. I will post a full review on my timeline at some point tomorrow. Good luck everyone! :goofy:

    Congrats!

  8. I doubt that an interview could get scheduled on the spot randomly. If this did happen I'm sure there must have been a reason behind it. Maybe the person requested an expedite previously or maybe the embassy the case will be forwarded to isn't as busy as others.

Our interviews will come, we just need to be patient. I know it's hard, but I think Trump's recent immigration policies is getting us all a little freaked out. I wasn't able to sleep last night cause I was so worried he might decide to include our country in the list of bans. Getting worried and losing patience is not going to get us an interview date faster, in fact it will make us lose our minds more since the NVC is taking their sweet time scheduling our appointments.

    Good luck to everyone here!

p.s: I don't think I have been added to the spreadsheet either

Hey Fatima, I am doing the process for my husband but he is here in the states with me and we are planning on traveling together to El Salvador whenever we get an interview scheduled.  Have you tired calling the medical facilities that are listed on the approved list where the medical exam is to take place?  I am planning on doing that so that way if we can get the vaccinations here rather then pay over in El Salvador.

Hey I will call the medical facility but I want to have the interview date first so I can also schedule the appointment as well. Thanks for the info ? I received the case complete email this morning
