After months of waiting and trying so hard, we finally got the NOA2 Friday, at which point my ex-fiance proceeded to inform me that he no longer wants to come to the US. How do I cancel the petition if it's in the process of being forwarded to the NVC/how can I stop that, as quickly as possible so I don't have to draw out the pain?

If you're going to post about how I wasted time that could have spent on somebody else's, please don't. I'm already devastated as is.

I think that was their NOA1 date. Our recieve day is the 25th and NOA1 is the 30th...really hoping for results soon because waiting until monday is terrible. 

NOA1 was the 25th, so still not far off =(

Majorly bummed, but at least I still can dream for tomorrow.... According to VJ estimates hopefully I can maybe hear back then? Congrats to all the lucky ones who got approved!

Man, my received date was the 23rd. Happy for you and major congrats! Just wishing I could have good luck for once.

Congratulations!! Anybody know if they do all approvals at the same time? (Like sending out a batch at X time in the night, or can they trickle in until 11?)

4 more hours until I get to be glued to my phone again.... It's so much worse when you expect to hear back from them around now rather than when you first submitted and knew you wouldn't hear anything for a while.

Man now I'm panicking that mine seems to be exactly one of the "middle" ones that got skipped... I hope that doesn't mean something is wrong.

Another brutal day passes without a word from them....  Bummer.

aw man people so close to me before and after were approved - I feel like they just skipped mine! Some serious progress though

Any updates on January numbers? Where can we see the data/run the scripts for ourselves?

Quite probably a dumb question, but is there any way to differentiate which service center the approvals/RFEs/data is from? (Texas or California)

Thank you all for the responses- I really appreciate it.

He has a PhD in engineering, so I have no doubt he can get a job somewhere (he's a really bright guy <3), and it's likely that he could even get a job in the same company, but it's very unlikely he can get one at the same group. Part of why we did initially decide to come here was that in theory he could find something that he'd like, but I think he's thinking of all the great positive things that he has right now (he also loves Europe.) I don't want to make a decision for him, but I don't know how to shake the fear that he'll resent me or it will make him unhappy.

We have talked about it, and he said he still wants to do this (despite all of that), but I'm also uneasy feeling like as all of this negativity builds up he'll "change his mind." That's not exactly the best way to start a marriage either...

I completely panicked when I read your responses that as of today, they were on mid November. Fortunately, it seems like they just advanced their "as of" date by a month what it was before/it's as of February 28th they're on November.

Almost a year?! Do you mind sharing your timeline? My fiancé is going through the London embassy so that sends off all sorts of warning bells for our application =(

I apologize if this isn't the right place for this- wasn't really sure where to post.

I'm the US petitioner, and my fiancé is French living in the UK. One thing we've struggled with throughout the whole process is that he absolutely loves his job, and although we work for the same company (different branches), he can't work remotely/has to quit his job to move to the US. I recognize that this is a decision that he has to come to terms with, and we've been very open throughout the whole process about that it's important that he doesn't hold that against me or feel resentful of me for giving it up (the headquarters is in the US, and there aren't that many openings in the UK, among other things), but lately I'm growing more and more concerned the longer he's working at his current job, the more he'll end up regretting giving it up, and I don't really know what I should do. Have any other non-native Americans been in this position before, and any advice/suggestions about what you did? Is it better that I call things off so that he's happy and we don't take that risk?
