Hi! I filed for adjustment of status and everything was approved and received 4/28/17. i had my biometrics appt on 5/28/17.

any idea when i will get my AP and EAD?! it's past the 90 day mark now. I am NOT a K-1 visa filer though. Married a US citizen and filed for AOS

    Hi there

It looks like USCIS is behind on processing APs and EADs. I applied at the beginning of April, got no news for 90 days, then I put in a Service Request and an Expedited Request and also reached out to my congressman to ask for fair consideration of the expedited request. I finally got a notice of "new card is being produced" for my EAD last Friday - that is 106 days after my application was registered with USCIS. Right now you should expect longer processing times but it never hurts putting in a Service Request for them to check your case – it could help. Worst that can happen is they don't get back to you - but it won't delay your card any longer. Good luck!

  2. Hi everyone

I recently received news that my EAD card is being produced (106 days wait). There are no new notifications on my AP, though, and haven't seen anything after that first notice of "your application has been received". Does anyone know if EADs are also created without AP? Or do they always send the EAD/AP card combo now? I applied for the EAD and AP at the same time with my AOS.

Thank you all! You are a wise group of people.

    Good morning, one and all.

Great to hear so many of us April filers have seen progress with our cases; a welcomed relief for all involved and peace of mind. Sorry to also hear a fair few are experiencing setbacks and are coming up against the proverbial brick wall. The worm will turn soon enough, just hang on in there.

I'm aware that there's no hard and fast rule for any stage of the process, and that processing times vary greatly on situation and location. However, I was wondering if there's an average time any April filers have experienced regarding the wait time between a case being 'ready to be scheduled for interview' and actually receiving an interview date? I'm already fed up with checking multiple times a day for that elusive update and am just anxious to hear of news.

    Hi there

When I spoke to a tier 2 officer on the phone they told me my application was ready to be scheduled for interview as of May 31. But doesn't mean i will actually get an interview or if it will be waived and there is no indication of time. They said it's normal not to hear anything after that notification for a while - processing times vary.

    You're third wedding??! Wow!

I received 2 NOAs yesterday, one for AP & one for EAD saying both were approved, but my AP status hasn't changed online. That seems to be the norm so I think you'll be absolutely fine there.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞

Ha! Yes, all small affairs (more like wedding picnics ha!). Thanks for the encouragement.

I will update here once I get more news!

    Fingers crossed for everyone

    Hey @hommeaetage, @sinayion, @mmmp & @earnhaaart,

All of our EAD/APs were approved on July 27th or just after. I was just wondering if anyone's has been mailed to them yet? If not could you let me know when it is please?

I'm going crazy because one of my best friends is getting married on 13th August in Scotland and I really want to be there! I thought I definitely couldn't, and then I could, and now I don't know anymore! I haven't been home since Feb 2016 either. I was hoping my card would have been mailed by now as it was approved on Thursday of last week, but it can take up to 30 days to reach us according to USCIS.

    Anyway good luck everybody!

From what I've seen, people are getting them in about 7-10 days. I haven't received any more news after the "new card is being produced" notice. I have a flight coming up as well that I thought I would have to cancel. And my husband and I have our third wedding coming up in my home country with my family - so hoping to make it to that :D

I haven't received any notification about my AP, though. Is there any chance the EAD comes without travel permission?

  6. Hi all

Thought I would update you on my situation. I am at 100 and something (i chose not to count the days anymore as it gives me anxiety). I put in a SR on the phone with a tier 2 officer to expedite my EAD on the basis of financial loss and having a job offer. I got all those notifications on the uscis website that the request has been assigned to an officer so I'm expecting something in the mail about that. In the meantime, today I visited my congressman's office in NYC with the same request, plus a cover letter and a copy of the job offer. They said they will reach out to USCIS today and ask for a "fair consideration" of my request. He told me it's always a 50/50 chance to get it approved. I'm not getting my hopes up, but keeping my fingers crossed I get a positive response.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

  7. Hi fellow April filers,

I'm at around 100 days now, I put in a service request on July 10 and no answer since then. I just called my congressman's office (in Brooklyn, NY) and I got an appointment with their immigration expert on Wednesday. They were very rude and unfriendly on the phone, which has me a bit worried about them making an actual effort to get some resolution when they contact USCIS on my behalf. But one can only hope for the best. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Turns out I was/am missing my biometrics. I'd assumed that, as I never received an appointment, my biometrics taken last year were still valid; clearly that wasn't the case.

Either way, a representative from the congressman's office spoke directly with USCIS and arranged for a new appointment first thing Monday.

I'm taking this as meaning that once my biometrics are taken the EAD should be processed fairly quickly because USCIS are clearly in correspondence with my congressman re: my expedite request, and my AP has already been approved. Fingers crossed it's all wrapped up within a week.

Wow -- what a bureaucratic journey you've had! What was the process you followed in getting in contact with your congressman? I am passed the 90-day mark and need to urgently expedite EAD and AP. Did you make any SRs or called the congressman directly? And how long did it take from calling to getting the AP? Thanks!

I have sent our AOS last April 7th to IL and until now we have not received anything from them.  Have not cashed our check yet either  I wonder where is my packages.  Have sent it in an ordinary mail and there is no way to track it.

    Hi there

Ordinary untracked mail is not very reliable and also very slow. They should have received your package by now, but you never know if it wasn't tracked. You should definitely try to send your immigration packages with a tracked mail service. I only use FedEx - it's worth the extra money as they are, IMHO, the most reliable and fast.
