My husband's visa was approved over a week ago in El Salvador and ceac has been showing ISSUED- your visa has been printed for 7 days. The embassy gave him a piece of paper saying you can track your passport to see when it arrives at cargo express. Everytime I try to track the passport it says there is no status update at this time for the passport number submitted. Also when I try to call the phone number it asks for the UID #. I enter this and all I get is please enter in the correct UID #. The embassy line is only an automated line & Cargo express says they have nothing to do with it. Anybody else experience this? I'm afraid his passport is lost somewhere & he is getting anxious waiting down in El Salvador. We don't know who else to contact. HELP PLEASE!!!

Send qn email to the embassy... Congensansal@state.gov

We are expecting our NOA2 any day and are working to gather everything we will need at the interview stage. My fiance, the beneficiary, was arrested in South Africa years ago. He was a legal resident at the time, but no longer lives there. I'm not exactly sure on the terminology, of what happened. He went to court but he says they decided he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. When he pulls his police report, it's clean from SA. We are attempting to get a certified letter in advance saying he has no record in the court since we expect to need it for the interview and it will take weeks or even months to obtain.

He has called the courts and they say they don't have a record of him in the system. This week he called to ask for the letter stating that he had no record and they told him that he should call the police station to get the case number, then they could look it up. He called the police station where he thinks it was and after talking to at least 5 different people, either saying they didn't know how to do it, or that he would have to go there in person, they hung up on him. He can't travel there and doesn't know anyone in that town to go to the police station on his behalf.

Any ideas on what we should do?

    Hi,

If that arrest is in his fingerprints he will have to find a way to get those court documents no matter what.  Even if his police clearance says no arrest the information is somewhere out there.  Hire an attorney to find it. I went through something like that and the CO did not care, we couldnt find it they wanted that document. Took us so many months probably over 7 months to finally get to the court document.

    hello All,

My case was in administrative Processing since 6th aug as they asked me for additional docs submission however i submitted all docs on 8th and CEAC status shows Administrative processing,

today AEG passport status shows, "your passport is being delivered to post",

    What does that mean??

    Regards

It just means your documents are being delivered to the embassy.  If you go into AP for a long time eventually it will say no info for this passport has been found.

    Please I need help

My husband is from El Salvador his interview was Sep 26 2017 he was given a 221g paper asking for additional documents for an arrest that he had 13 years ago we provided all the documentation on 10/11/17 they were no date updates since 10/31/17 I wrote to my congressman on 12/12/17 and he sent an inquiry on December 13, 2017, two weeks later i got a phone call from the US embassy in El Salvador where they requested another interview he went to his interview on Jan 3, 2018 they were not date updates on CEAC until I reached my senator on 01/18/18 his date changed to 1/19/18 because of the senators inquiry I sent an e mail on February 2, 2018 and his date changed to 02/5/18 but still AP Im so worry because I keep reading post about second interviews and getting approved within 2 to 3 weeks but ours still stuck can someone provide an input of their case, I m losing hope. Anything else that I can do for my case, i will appreciate it.

    Hiii,

Did you get approved after all or are you still waiting?? I'm in a similar situation.

That is the email that I received today "that it has been escalated". The part that is just so sad, is that the US Embassy does not care how it is hurting the American Citizens who are waiting for their loved one to return. I feel totally abandoned and disrespected by my country (USA) after this experience, and my feelings about my country have definitely changed. This experience is not for the faint of heart, but I was assured by our attorney that it would be a quick process due to the dire needs of having my husband's help with my two disabled children and that his case was clean. I am not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me, I just feel that the system in wrong, flawed, and punitive, something that I never would have imagined that my country would be part of, ever.

It has been escalated? What does that mean? Sorry to hear you feel that way. We all feel that way since they don't care about separating families. I do think that since Trump has issues with gangs in El Salvador, the US is doing extra security checks. I know in my case thats whats happening.  :( we just need to be patient and pray!!

I am trying to focus on that but my husband has been there for 3 months now, and we were initially told that 3 weeks and he would be back home. My husband is not a criminal, there is no reason for it to take 4 weeks to look at 3 sheets of paper we submitted per the 221g. I sent reams of legal documentation, proof of our relationship, and they looked at none of that when he went to the interview, only that I am not Salvadoran (i am fluent in Spanish). He has been gone so long from El Salvador it does not even feel like he belongs there anymore, and he doesn't. He belongs here in the states with me.

I'm in the same boat with my fiance at the embassy in El salvador. We are also in AP but ceac website says refused. We have been like this for 2 months now. We emailed them they respond saying a CO is reviewing his case.

I will not give too many hints but I found your FaceBook in about 2 minutes.  You do have a beautiful baby.  And your pink nails look great on that BMW steering wheel.  My point is they have access to a lot more than I do.  I won't give away any other FaceBook posts because you already know I just saw your account.  I didn't have to break in.  Just remember:  Everything you EVER POST on the internet is there forever, FOREVER.  Good luck in your journey.

Lol you're saying you wont give away other posts.. anything that's public on my profile is a cover photo, profile photo etc. Or anything i choose to put out there .  So thank you !

Believe me...so were we. However, they have to protect us and the USA so its all good

I'm just greatful with the embassy in El Salvador. I told my fiance if they do deny us in the end their just doing there jobs.  So far they have been nothing but good to us. Any other embassy would have shut us down in seconds. Even when I thought about giving up due to his arrests they called me to tell me their is hope! Wow ! God is good.

USCIS has a right to inspect and investigate EVERYTHING about you. That is what you sign away when you input your signature on the I-129f form. Go back and read it. They looked at our Facebook too over four years ago...no big deal, drivers license, credit bureau files, NCID etc etc...

    No big deal.

Yeah that's true. I guess I'm just shocked lol.. but thank you!!

Hi, sorry to hear your struggles. We were in no where land for 3 months before Embassy issued her visa.

What do you mean they broke into your FB? Did they ask for your FB user name and or account passwords or is your FB just open for all to see?

If they did not ask you for the FB info then how do you know they were looking into it?

    Thanks

    Steven

I'm assuming they did because they told him things about me that I posted on fb.  My profile is very private.  I had recently posted an angry msg on fb saying I got into an argument with another driver who was attacking me. I also said luckily I'm not driving my bmw so I'm fine if they scratch this car.  They asked him does she still have her bmw??? How do they know what car I have or don't have?   They also told him that in february I visited him and that we stayed in a beach resort..  which I posted pictures on fb of our hotel suite with beach view.  Where else are they getting this information?

Thanks so much for taking the time to tell me this. Its been super hard finding information in regards to El Salvador. They didn't ask about languages spoken by chance?

    Hi Jay,

They did not since I speak spanish. Every case is different, if their is a language barrier between you and your fiance they might wonder and ask.  Just prepare yourselves for any question and be honest. I think in our case, I made sure to send really good evidence that we were a couple and had visited him atleast 5 times within 1 year.

I agree with everyone else, I am sure its just going to be a little delay .

Im marrying my fiancee from El Salvador? Off topic do you what questions are asked in the interview?

    Hi Jay,

At his first interview they asked him what was my full name,  how many times have I visited him in El Salvador & dates & how did we meet.  Since our baby had been born around that time they asked him if he had met the baby and wanted to see pictures of the baby.  They did not ask about marriage plans, and he took additional evidence of our relationship he told me they did not care to look at it.  They kept his passport also and told him visa would be issued in 10 days until they realized he was missing court documents for his arrests so we we got put in AP. He told me the CO was really nice.

Again it could be from previous crimes, to as you said, he usually was with someone when it happened... one of those people could now be a known gang member or be affiliated and they are checking to make sure there is no ties to him. Seems they are just scouring through everything and I don't blame them. Obviously you know about MS-13 and it's a big problem in El Salvador and it's becoming an increasing issue here in the US through several states so. I hope you do keep us updated though with any new information that comes along through the process. Could help others later on knowing maybe what to expect with second interviews and such.

Yes!! Everytime I see the news about trump talking about MS or whatever gangs from El Salvador , I'm thinking he will ban the whole country sooner or later.  Praying!! Hopefully our situation gets cleared and we can move on with our lives. Thank you!! I will post when we hear the results.

There's a lot of ways to look at this, but here's the way I would look at it:

If they found a reason for him to be inadmissible, they would have refused the visa outright by now and provided the option for a waiver, if available. If they haven't found an inadmissibility yet, they're still investigating something so you just need to wait until that investigation completes.

Thank you Geo! You're right. Well hopefully everything turns out great at the end.

He admitted to these arrests and all I assume since he has to provide a police report/clearance. It really could be they are digging deep to make sure he in fact is not a gang member or associated closely with any gangs. Also depending on what "petty" means exactly, they could be reviewing them to see if they are inadmissable crimes.

I forgot to mention, yes they did ask him if he knew any gang members or if in his neighborhood they were any gangs nearby or close by or next to each other.  They also asked him if he still friends with his old friends from 10 years ago. He said no. He told me hes never been friends with any gang members. In el salvador is very dangerous to be friends with gang members. It is no joke.  You know what I'm thinking?? Since I live here in LA and this is where MS and 18th street started they could be thinking yes hes a gang member and his fiance a chola . Luckily, I live in a nice area in LA and I have a career.
