    I am not sure.

I did submit Police Clearance Certificate which they asked for. Tomorrow the consulate will be close for 4th of July so I'm hoping it should change this week. I did receive an approval slip once I was done with the interview but I can't help being little worried.

Have you checked to see if VJ has an Indian consulate forum so that maybe you could see if others have went through this?

Hi, Is it normal for visa to go through administrative processing and how long does it stay there? I been reading on VJ and it seem it can get stuck there for months. I know I'm being paranoid  because I got a slip saying I was approved but I thought only visa with some issue go through AP.

Have seen some take days and some weeks. So it seems to vary depending on what is triggering the AP status. Maybe background check?

Okay I finally made it to the U.S.

I am living now with my fiace and everything seems good. My POE was JFK (NY) and it was a weird experience. Very different to my previous entries in the country. He never asked me a thing. Just scanned my fingers and my eyes. Then when other officer was coming by he handed my papers to him and said K1.  They asked me to follow him. I sat in some chairs a bit terrified thinking there was something wrong. Then other guy just stamped something on my papers and gave me my passport back. They didn't say why it was that. Or what it was for.  I found it very sketchy but they let me in.

I am now preparing the wedding and today we are getting our marriage license.

Do I have to get the SSN before getting married or after???  I want to take his last name

Welcome to the states :). While it is recommended that you get your SSN first you don't have to. If you are taking his last name and you get your SSN 1st you will just have to go back to SSA office to get it updated with name as it is on marriage certificate. You can call local SSA office to see if they show you win the system. IIRC some have reported that they show in the system instantly with I-94's being electronic but with anything YMMV.

The medical exam at K-1 stage, is definitely done in home country. It would defeat the purpose for a Visa if its done in the USA.  The doctor will fill out form I-693, make sure beneficiary gets all his shots overseas. Although Vaccines are not required for a K1, they will be required for the AOS in the USA. However, they will a little expensive overseas, but let me tell you its a lot better than having them done in the USA. I had trouble finding a USCIS doctor willing to do ONLY the Vaccine Supplement without requesting beneficiary to do the entire medical, which cost of $400 or greater if performed. I called over 60 clinics, local and nonlocal. I was even willing to go out of state to have this done and drive at least 4 or 5 hours to a certified doctor. Some clinics required him to be a registered patient just to sign his Vaccine Report, and a full medical, ridiculous!!! I explained to all of them he already had his medical and reminded USCIS instructions. That if beneficiary has done his medical within one year period, he is not required for another medical only the vaccines.

So in short, if you want to save time and the headaches trying to find a doctor here for the Vaccines, please have them done overseas and his full medical. The full medical is required for the K1 visa anyways, so even if the doctor tells you vaccines are optional at this  point, do them at that point, I recommend it.

Yes she got her vaccines and medical exam done in her home country. I am wondering if I-693 had to be used or just proof of exam and vaccines for the AOS packet?

Hello everyone, I was supposed to file the AOS package in May but procrastination got the best of me and well, here I am , just finished putting together the whole package which includes:

    *G-1145
    *Cover Letter
*I-130 & I-130A, along with all the supporting documents
*I-485 along with the I-693, form G325A and form I-864
    *I-765

I won't be submitting a I-131 since my wife doesn't have a emergency need to go back to her country.

We're just waiting for the lab results to have form I-693 complete and then we'll be mailing the complete AOS package this Friday 6/2/2017.

Feel free to comment and paste your case, I'll be updating the thread as things move along.

Have a question. Did you get the i-693 from your medical before the k-1 visa interview or did you have to see another doctor before you could fill it out in the states?

So i got an email from the NVC today with my case number...really weird, didn't know they did that,

i went and checked the status and it says it is in transit and it says

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

what does that mean, your interview date was provided to you by the NVC?

Congrats! No it just means it is in transit to your embassy.

Hi everyone. I am so happy to have came across this website! My anxiety has sky rocketed ever since I sent in the I-130 in December 2016 for my husband and then the I-129F in January 2017, but I guess that's normal when you're dying to see your other half right? LOL

A little back story, I'm from American Samoa currently residing in Alaska and my husband is from Western Samoa. We have been together for 4 years now, and were recently married in April 2016 in Western Samoa.

Both my petitions are being processed in the Nebraska Center. Anyone else being processed there too? I've read they are probably the slowest center of all and that is definitely not helping with my anxiety LOL is this true?

So glad to go through this journey with all of you and know that I'm not the only one feeling the way I feel about this entire process.

Thinking you mean the CSC? Don't believe Nebraska processes petitions any longer. So had you heard anything on the I-130? Not sure if then filing a i-129f will cause an issue due to pending I-130 application.

    Hi!

Does anyone know a way to track approvals that are heading to NVC

We were approved friday 28th April...so was just trying to see if I could find apps on same day or 1-2 days before to give me a rough estimate. I am aware it can take 6 weeks :/ on day 19 lol

Unfortunately you can only call NVC to see if they received it. Would give them a call as they should by now so you can get a case number.

      HI! Could I ask you?

How do you know that they received your case? Does it show online without receipt number???

I have Receipt Number that shows me that case was approved on 13 of April. Will it change something there and show me that they receive my case without Case Number??

    Thanks in advance!

Good luck guys in this process.

Can call 603) 334-0700. Once you have case number you can track to embassy here https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

    Hi Brandon y Nadia,

    How's your progress?

we just did the express police certificate today without appointment. But I'm assuming it's quite similar with appointment. The beneficiary has to go in there and present a form filled during the online appointment process, and then pay a fee (we paid the faster 1 hour service). After that, they will gather the fingerprints and then the beneficiary has to specify that the police certificate needs to have a clause saying with exception to article 51 in penal codes. Then afterwards, it can be accessed online and printed. Fairly simple.

As with check boxes, I talked to an attorney, and they told me it's due to mismatching instructions from the old days. They recommend that I just make a cover letter with boxes and manually check everything I present in the package for submission.

Now we are all set to have the first visit to medical on the 9th of May. Hopefully we can submit by 12th.

    good luck

My fiancée is going today for the certificate. So hopefully all goes well. Has her medical on May 16th.

yeah, the secretary of dr. Kelly told us that 1st visit is to get doctor's order to proceed tests and 2 days later the doctor hand over the sealed envelope.

btw, we figured out the police report, it turns out that the express service works, no appointment needed, just have to complete an online form and print it and present to a special branch that handles express service. we're opting for that option because normal appointments are booked out til 12th.

have you guys noticed something odd in the packet 3 PDF?

    it says

"I have in my possession and I am prepared to submit all the documents listed

above that apply to my case, as indicated by the check mark I have placed in the

appropriate boxes. I fully realize that no advance assurance can be given to me as

to when or whether a visa will actually be issued and I also understand that I

should NOT give up my job, dispose of property, or make any final travel

arrangements until a visa is actually issued to me."

hmmmmmm, what boxes??? we can't find a form with boxes. did they send you something that might look like it contains boxes?

No hadn't noticed anything with boxes to check as I was emailed the packet 3. But maybe it is something that is sent or given once they receive paperwork from beneficiary is my guess.
