Hi guys ,
I have some good news to share. We were on AP for a little over two months. We got four updates since two months mark. And finally today the CEAC status says Issued. This was a very stressful journey and I am glad it is over. This forum was very helpful. I like to thank this forum and the people who runs it and everyone else who help and support each other. For those of you who are waiting due to AP. Be patient and you will hear the good news soon. I wish you guys all the best.

Hi! He's not from Afg, he is from Sierra Leone (West Africa).
It doesn't matter where he is from. On NVC website it says that AP last at least two months. It could be longer depending on the case. Good luck.

Hello,
I know you can bring your immediate family member with a green card but it is going take twice as long. I know a family with green cards brought their three kids under 21 and it took about two years I think.

Hello everyone,
He's the skinny - please be nosey! - My husband arrived November of 2015. We won't be doing his ROC until the end of this year, so he may not be getting his US citizenship until late 2018 to early 2019. However, his brother and his family (wife and four kids) arrived in the US August of 2015 on SIV (special immigrant visa for Afghan-US interpreters), which designates my brother-in-law and his family as refugees. (We live in the same home, but for clarity, I will say they are a different "household".)
So, I say all that to say, we now want to bring mom over. Right now, she is not living in the family's home in the village and the family is pretty scattered. I was wondering if anyone here has any input on a Form DS-7656, Affidavit of Relationship (AOR) for mom under brother-in-law's green card? If she were to qualify, that would make her priority three - any opinion on how long that may take or where I could find reliable info?

Hi,
I guess I'll join everyone else. My fiancé had his interview August 24th at the US Embassy Freetown, Sierra Leone and was given the ds-5355 form to return the following Monday between the hours of 3pm-4pm. He returned the form that Monday and it was updated that day (the 28th) and then again the 29th. Nothing has changed since then. The consular wrote on the 221g that the process can take up to 90 days. They did return his passport which expires in May 2018, but the return of the passport scares me, as I've heard that's a bad sign. I don't know if it's because we need at least 6 months validity on the passport or what. This AP really scares me and it's what I dreaded the most because of horror stories. Any advice given is appreciated! TIA
It is a waiting game after the interview. Be patient and expect to wait at least two months. Wish you all the best.

Hello everyone. I'm new here but I have been following the trend for awhile too see how far everyone have come along with their form DS-5535. My fiancé had his interview on July 23rd. The officer provided him to fill out the new supplement question form. It's been more than a month since his interview n there has been few updates on his case but it's still under AP. I just hope we all hear the good news very soon. But if any on you hear the good news than to plz keep us updated.
Hi, welcome to the forum. Nice to see someone from afg. I got few updates after it hit 60 days mark but it is still in AP. Wish you good luck.

Does the embassy make many updates to the CEAC website during this time? Do they ever ask for more evidence and things?
I got update when I reached my 60 days of AP. Every case is different though. I guess at this stage they will let u know if something is missing or require more evidence.

Our interview for CR-1 was 8/9 the next day we were told to complete the 5535. The case hasn't been touched since 8/17 or so. We're in AP too
If you filled out that form and your are put on AP. Expect to be on AP for at least two months.

Did they not say anything after you reached 60 days? How long has it been for you? The embassy told me that the investigation ends in 60 days, and they'll let you know if there's further investigation to do afterwards. It's been so difficult for all of us.....
I have been in AP since beginning July. I called NVC today. They said the only thing they can tell me is that I am still in AP.

did you try to submit an inquiry? It might help ....
Not yet, I was going wait for week or so to see if anything happens. If I don't get anymore updates I will sent them an email or call Nvc

Hey Maryam! you got an update then they called you for your visa or you are still waiting?
No, they didn't call or anything yet. Just an update. Not sure what that means.

Yes i know. It looks like ppl on this thread received their visa within 60 days. Do you know if they will actually do anything after 60 days? I mean i spoke to someone at the embassy and they said the investigation ends then and they decide for a further investigation if theres another hit in your application. Does that mean i'll get my visa issued if it all goes well in 60 days..?
Hopefully everything clears after 60 days and you hear something soon. I got an update on my case when it reached 60 days.

I know dude ..... All they do is basically to copy the status message and send it back to you without any clue or anything helpful ...... Our CEAC status have changed 3 times, last one was on 16 August.
They say to wait 60 days before contacting them when you are on AP.

Congratulations!
Did you have to fill out the form DS5535

Nice topic. I think once people get approved and issued visa they wont come here to comment. It would be nice to know though for the rest of us waiting for AP to get approved. My husband was issued AP two months ago pending approval. No updates yet.
