  1. I have been searching the forums but haven't seen anything recent so I thought I'd ask since the answer I found is from 2010.

We are filing out my husbands I-765 documents for the temporary work visa so we can send it out with his I-485 and all those other documents, and the only question that's stumping me is what exactly is his eligibility category? I read through them, and I saw the (a)(6) one that was for K-1 visas. But, since we are married and technically his status isn't a k-1 visa holder, he's adjusting status. The other question which I'll link here said (c (9) but I'm not sure why that is correct, or if it is still correct in 2018.

Any explanation or help would be greatly appreciated :) we are hoping to get all our documents sent out tomorrow or the next day!

  2. The completion of his vaccinations is apart of his K1 visa. He arrived a month and a half ago on his K1 visa with just a couple of vaccinations to complete so he can apply for adjustment of status. He is my husband as we got married last week using his K1 visa

The reason I added it in this form is it says "K1" on his paperwork, but if there is a better place for my question please let me know.

  3. My husband decided to finish his vaccinations in America since the visa medical center in London had really long wait times for getting appointments this summer. He had to get his Td (Tetanus shot) and Flu shot. The medical center in London had said he also needed a second MMR (measles mumps rubella) shot and marked it as something he'd need from the civil surgeon in the US.

When we went in today, we talked very in-depth with the doctor about needing the second MMR shot, but our doctor reassured us probably two dozen times that technically only one is required for a life time according to his document saying what is required by the US government. We even expressed wanting to get it, but he assured us over and over we would just be wasting our money since it's not needed for the visa since my husband has already received it once and that is all that is needed. He's been doing these kind of work for 39 years and never once had anyone return saying that a 2nd one was required for their visa.

I wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience, as I can't really find anything online. I feel bad for second-guessing the doctor but it was marked on our paperwork and it just struck us as odd.

    tl;dr
is a 2nd MMR shot required for US Immigration/K1 visa? our US doctor says it's not even though the UK doctor marked it as something that needed to be looked at.

The print out with your appointment details saves time, but even if you didn't have it, London has a list of who is supposed to interview that day and would let you in. Did he also print out his payment confirmation?

He has a photo on  his phone from his payment confirmation, as well as he email for it. The Appointment Instructions page has his card details on there, the day he paid it, and what type of card he used. Does he need to for sure print out the confirmation page or will his information on the appointment instructions page/the email be enough?

    This is not it...

Ours came as an attachment to the interview appointment email, as the NVC set our interview.

If you set your own interview time and date, you are looking for whatever document you have that is the confirmation of the interview details.. it will have your name, case number, date and time of the interview, location and your visa type...

Security must see this and your passport to let you into the building, having confirmed you are meant to be there at that time and on that day.n

Thank you so much!! He just saw this as I was reading it to him. They sent him five different emails and it was in one of the last ones. He's off to go print it out as we speak. Thank you again!

  6. My fiance's K1 visa interview appointment is on Monday, and we were just going over the paperwork last minute to be sure it's all there. Just had a quick, and hopefully silly question.

It says he is required to bring his Appointment Instructions Page printed out with him.

Is this the page? I was just thrown off because it says on the paper itself "you must bring a printed copy of your appointment instructions page". If this is the page, why doesn't it state that at the beginning? It also says "we recommend you bring this with you" but a sentence later saying you NEED the appointment instructions. The wording is just a little weird and I am overthinking it, and not sure what's right.

Any confirmation if this is the correct page would help, and if not where can we find that? We found this on the US Embassy page for London, and again on the online website you go to book appointments.

It's so weird too that they are using http which is not secured.

    I tried accessing this https://uk.usembassy.gov/iv-contact/

    Check if this works.

I gave this a shot and I got the same error message ): I'm going to call my fiance to see if it works from his side. It may be because I'm in the US at the moment? Which would be kind of silly in my opinion if the sponsor couldn't contact the embassy. lol but that may be the case.

  8. I've tried multiple times to send a question through their website but every time it comes up saying "Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://uk.usembassy.gov/iv-contact/" on this server."

Has anyone had this issue? or know a way around it?

I've called them to ask my question when I was in England last week, but they said they don't answer questions over the phones as they aren't equiped to answer any sort of visa questions and to contact them through their website.
I've submitted my question on both my phone and my laptop.

  9. My fiance and I are finishing up the last steps before scheduling his interview with the US Embassy in London. He's going for his medical on Saturday and we're so excited to be nearing the finish line.

But the big problem is that we can't access the DS 260 online. Whenever we type in the case and invoice number it says that it's not right. The Case number is definitely right, and the invoice number should be his birthday, as YYYY-MM-DD, according to the US Embassy website. We've tried it in all sorts of ways to see if perhaps the instructions were wrong. Is there something that we are missing? Or perhaps a step we missed? We haven't filled out anything else online, haven't logged into anything so perhaps we are missing a crucial step or piece of information?

I'm going to call the NVC tomorrow to see if they are able to help, but was curious if anyone had a solution, or had experienced something similar.:)

  10. The NVC contacted me today via email ! Though not with information regarding my visa ): I sent a letter to the USCIS California Service center in February to see if they would be able to change my fiance's address since he had moved the day before, and the ended up forwarding my letter to the NVC, which they responded to today (a month later), saying they are unable to do that.

Still waiting on hearing about whether or not they've recieved my case though! It's been 4 weeks since the USCIS approved our NOA2

Have you tried calling NVC? Their customer service has pretty flexible hours (7am - midnight EST). :)

Also, if USPS informed delivery is available in your area, it will help with the "did it come in the mail today" stress. Plus it's free! https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

I've seen a few people say that when they called they were told it takes 4-6 weeks, so I haven't yet. I may do that today.

And I just signed up for that, it's such a useful tool ! thank you so much. unfortunately it says I have no mail on its way .... ): this is probably going to take the max amount of time ugh

  12. So happy to see so many people finally being able to book their interviews ! <3

I got my paper copy NOA2 on the February 16th (was approved the 10th), and still waiting to get any sort of comformation from NVC. It's driving me a little crazy haha I am only home two-three days a week since I work as a flight attendant, so I keep getting worried that I'm wasting precious time only to come home and see that I haven't recieved a letter yet. Hopefully we hear something back soon! My fiance has already started getting his papers sorted for the Police Certificate and other documents so as soon as we get the go ahead, we're ready to go.

  13. Looks like I *DID* get confused, the link I have is in regards to changing the US citizens address, and I've not found any information regarding changing the UK citizens address (the one who will be moving to the States). Most of the information I have read in regards to changing his address says it doesn't need to be done until later but that doesn't seem right to me? I'm dreadfully confused, and the links I am finding on Google are to forum posts as opposed to perhaps a link to the USCIS website which would have solid information.

  14. My fiance moved two days ago to a house down the street. We had looked in how to change his address which I think is the Change of Address online (( https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do )). I wanted to be doubly sure before doing so, as I don't want to mess anything up since we are very close to recieving our NOA2! I tried to look at some old forum posts regarding this issue but they were back in 2016 and I wasn't sure if anything has changed since then. I was a little confused since the instructions don't mention our particular visa, and was worried I was going to mess up!

    tl;dr

How do we change my alien fiance's address to update the I-129f  / NOA2 and to recieve other information as they send it.

  15. My bad! I was under the impression that this sub-forum was for introducing yourself. I've yet to ask any questions because we've just started putting together our evidence and finished filling out some of the paperwork! The links provided are so useful! The main USCIS site definitely isn't as thorough.

Everyone here seems so kind and ready to help one another. I've been directed here by a few people who are in LDRs and are currently going through their visa process :)
