The reason it's too late is not necessarily because it has been forwarded to NVC but rather because I am now married.
If you are married, then you cannot file for a K1 or fiancée visa.
Yes, I understand. I am married too. If I had known this process would take longer I most likely would have filed K1 as well.

Maybe I should have gone the K1 visa route since it takes less time.
I thought this too but, too late now. I hear once it's forwarded to NVC it goes pretty fast from there. I sure hope so.

I thought I'd join in...I too am waiting. What is the normal processing timeframe? I thought it was 6 months but by viewing this thread I see some of you have been waiting longer. It's been 5 months and 4 days for me

Hi August,
Welcome to the hell hole of Nebraska!! I don't think we will have issues for age difference, per say, it is common in DR. But that being said, never know how the IO will feel on the interview day. Just a very different culture you experience with a Dominican.
We are at 170 days now, just waiting patiently, thats all you can do. Hang in there August!!
Thanks for responding.
Yes, hanging in there. At times it's tough but I realize tough times don't last forever. I have a coworker who went through the process years ago. She always says it seemed like it took forever but now that she has been here 7 years, looking back seems like the time flew by. I am looking forward to that moment. I am patient, my hubby not so much lol. But, I told him hey nothing we can do but wait. Hopefully we will all be hearing something soon.

I know his post is a bit old...but I wanted to say hello to you ladies. I too am older than my husband by 12 years, and he is also from the Dominican Republic. I sent our I-130 application in December and got notification it was received and being processed as of 12/12/2016. Still patiently waiting. Mary Lou, mine is with the Nebraska Service Center as well.
Great post, while my hubby and I love each other dearly and have lots in common the age difference always scares me when it comes to the immigration process. This post made me feel better. Thanks all!

Hi all, I received email and text confirmation yesterday that my case was accepted and forwarded to the Nebraska Service Center for processing. Is it at this point, when it reaches Nebraska, that I could possibly receive the RFE? Thanks!

Thank you!
Welcome to the forum.

Thank you Catuela. If I get RFE won't that cause a big delay? Ugh, I can't believe I made such a silly mistake.

Hi all. I just sent my hubbies I130 pack off earlier today. It's been a crazy day and one of my family members is really ill and I realized after I shipped the pack I missed a section on the form. I reviewed my copies when I arrived home and I accidently left the section at the bottom of my g325a blank. It's the bold box that's outlined and asks for applicant to print name and alien registration number in the box outlined by heavy border below. Did anyone else miss this? What happens now???
