You should call USCIS to file an inquiry, since you're outside normal processing time. If it's not going anywhere in time (although you still have 2 months, but def call first thing Monday morning) you should file another renewal for EAD so that you get another extension letter.

Weird enough I hear from a lot of people that renew EAD that they just never get a renewal, just the extension letter. Prob they're so busy with initial EAD's that they don't have time to process the renewals.

I tried calling them almost every week and they can’t provide much information even the Tier 2 officer. Do you know someone who filed another ead renewal? Is it safe to do that? Thank you

    Hi everyone,

I think I have the weirdest immigration timeline one could have. K-1 visa got approved pretty fast in May 2017.  Came to the US in June 2017. Got married in July. Applied for the Green Card and EAD/AP in July. Then EAD/AP combo card got approved within 88 days. Here's when the fun starts...

The combo card expired 10/16/18. I applied for the renewal in July 2018 - so in a nice timely manner. 246 DAYS AGO. Even with the 180 days automatic extension, I will still lose my job in 3 weeks.

Yes, I made an Infopass appointment. They can't rush EADs, but they put in a request for the Green Card interview expedition - since it's been almost 2 years that I'm waiting for it. Well, that's nice of them, but I still have no sign of it happening anytime soon.

Yes, I have a lawyer. Apparently the best immigration lawyer in Maryland. She said I'm really on top of my paperwork so there is noting she can do for me.

Yes, I called the landline and put in service request - 3 of them. I call every 30 days. Everytime someone promisses to take care of it, and NOTHING HAPPENS.

Yes, I have my congressman working on the case. So what. They told me they will get back to me once USCIS replies. They never did.

Yes, I sent letters from my employer stating he's gonna be terminating me SOLELY because of EAD expiring. And mine and my husbands testimonies of financial hardships we're gonna face. Had the congressman forward the same letters to USCIS, too.

I guess I'm gonna lose a job that I love, because of nothing.

Anyone there with a similar problem?

    Thanks, guys

we are in the same boat. I sent my EAD Renewal July 2018 and it’s still pending up to this day. I even call the customer service every week but still they can’t provide much information. I will lose my job in 4 weeks if I don’t do a Employment re-verification 😞 Do you think sending a new EAD renewal papers will be our best option?

Transgender is prob pretty new for immigration. It sucks that you have to suffer the consequence of them not knowing what to do, but it might take them a little bit to figure out if they legally can put another gender on your GC (I would say since you have a court order it shouldn't be a problem, but we all know immigration doesn't think the same way we do)

Just to be sure you could at least file for a renewal of your EAD. If they make the decision after your EAD expires (although it's 2 months from now) you can't legally work.

If they approve your GC they'll dismiss your EAD renewal. And since you filed AOS you don't have to pay for EAD renewal.

Hello. I filed my EAD renewal last year month of July but I still haven’t got any update since they received my case.

  4. Good day everyone! I had my AOS(2 yrs greencard) interview last week Feb.19,2019 in Houston Texas. I am a transgender came here through K1 visa and I legally changed my name and gender marker last year. My interview lasted for 30 mins. The officer asked us a few questions about our relationship and me and my husband both answered good, we gave the officer all of the papers, documents and proof of our marriage that she needed. And she told me that she’s not sure if she can change my Gender, she went out of the room and when she came back she asked me this weird questions:

Officer: so are you a fully woman now?

Is everything in your body woman now?

Me: What do you mean Ma’am? you mean if I had a surgery before?

    Officer: Yes!

Me: No ma’am! But I gave you my court order that I legally changed my name and gender and also here’s my doctor’s letter.(I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed with the way she asked me that question)

Officer: I don’t think I can change your gender here cos I’m not sure but Immigration rules is different than the State law. I need to consult my supervisor about this and I will give you a call.

Then she had me a paper “Notice of Interview Results”

    Reason for Continuance:

Your case is being held for review. At this time USCIS does not require any information or documents from you blah blah....I need to wait until 120 days before I can make an inquiry about my case.

It’s been a week and I haven’t got any call from her nor a letter from the USCIS. I even don’t know if we got approved or no. It’s stressing me out. I’m currently working and my EAD extension will expire first week of May, I don’t know when I will get an update from them. Is this normal?

  5. Hello everyone. I hope someone can help me. So I filed my Adjustment of Status Petition(AOS) last year month of August and as for the moment I’m still waiting for an update with my petition(My current status is: AT THIS TIME USCIS CANNOT PROVIDE YOU WITH INFORMATION FOR YOUR CASE).

Then March of this year I changed my name(First name) and gender marker(from male to female). So my question is. How can I update or follow up my papers to the USCIS because the papers that’s on their hand is under my previous name and sex(but my signature is still the same up until now) How can I inform them about this. Thank you so much and God bless!

  6. Hello everyone. I am living in Sugar Land Texas for 2 months now and got married last Saturday. I am planning to change my first name and my gender marker into female before applying my AOS but I don't know if this will be possible in a short period of time cos I have 25 days till my 90 days visa expired. Is changing my first name will be faster than doing it both? if so can someone help me about the step by step on how can I change my name here in Texas. Thank you very much.

  7. Hello guys. So I just moved here in Sugar Land TX 2 months ago through K1 Visa. I am from Philippines and getting married next week, my fiance told me about this insurance thing that he wants me to be part of his health insurance. But I suddenly feel nervous and scared cos I don't want to cause any trouble to him if his company find out that my name and gender is still male. I told him that maybe we can wait till I can legally change my name and gender but I still don't know how and if it's still possible. And I feel like it will take years? (i'm not sure). So my questions are:

Is it okay if my fiance can put me in his health insurance with my gender identity after we got married? Does my gender identity will affect his work? (i'm afraid to be discriminated)

How can I change my name and my gender legally? What are the steps?

Thank you so much. I know that this is very sensitive topic but I hope I can find some answers here.

B2 classification could be an indication that you may have a follow up visit to the County Health Department for further testing for TB. A member stated that within 2 weeks of hitting the POE they got a call from the county board of Health that they needed to see her and open a file on possible immigrant with TB.

Did you have any issues at the exam that might indicate a followup visit in the US because of TB related testing, interview or any other issues?

I don't have any problem with my medical yesterday. I finished it one day and even got the vaccine the same day means i passed the medical right? I asked a group on facebook and some of them got the same "B" on the slec stamp and told me nothing to worry about. I don't have any TB history. Maybe that member you are saying undergo sputum test and had undergo some treatment.

  9. Hi guys. I just got done my medical yesterday for only one day and also got the vaccines and result. I'm just curious about the SLEC stamp on my passport I saw a "B" sign there. So I assume that I'm on Class B category. Should I worry about that when I get in to the US or in my AOS? I remember the only thing that the doctor told me was I'm underweight and adviced me to eat more food, the more the calories the more I will gain weight 😂

  10. Hi guys. My fiance was a newly grad last year and got his first job last year month of october. We have his ITR , pay stubs and job contract stating his salary for a year which good enough and above the poverty line. My question is obviously his ITR can't be pass the poverty line cos it's only from oct-dec.. Do you think we will face a problem on US Embassy? cos they say it only based on ITR...Any recommendations?  Thanks you
