  1. HI everyone, I have posted a few times on this forum and have read everyone's comments. I am so thankful for everyone and the advice I have read. I have received my NOA2 and my case now has a case number...but it's still at the NVC. I was so happy to receive the NOA2 and thought that we are on the right track and everything will go smoothly. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way for me. I'm not giving much detail, but I am currently in Ecuador visiting my fiance. Everything was fine, but Tuesday he told me he didn't want to continue with the visa because his friend told him it was virtually impossible for it to be approved. Just to let you all know...please tell your fiance/es not to listen to discouraging remarks from others. I am devastated. I've known him since 2004 and we have been in a relationship for over three years. He has helped me through a lot especially through the death of my daughter back in August. His son has decided to live with his mom and didn't want to come to the US, so I do know my fiance didn't want to leave his son. I understand this, but It is still difficult to deal with. I have changed my flight and will return to the states on Monday (this was going to be a month long visit). I'll be ok. My faith in God is strong and I know He has me in His hands. I wish you all the best of luck in your visa process. God bless you all.

Wow that's awesome that you took that step to do that... I'm just a ol' Mississippi boy that knows redneck English haha!! I'll use southern slang words like "I reckon so" and she has no clue what I'm saying lol... I also pronounce my days of the week different and I've tried to teach her the southern way to do it... Mundey, Tuesdey, Wensdey, Thursdey, Frydey, Saturdey, Sundey 😂 She thinks it's hilarious... so maybe I'll have some success turning her into a true southern belle but I have my doubts lol!! As for learning Portuguese I'm excited to do so... I want to be able to communicate with her folks... thank God for google translate

Your post made me laugh. I'm from South Georgia and I use many of those same words. I'm in Ecuador right now visiting my fiancé'. I'll be here until June 28. We speak Spanish because he doesn't know any English. I am self taught in the Spanish department, but have a long way to go. I will say something in Spanish and by the end I'm speaking English (mainly because I don't know the words in Spanish). Anyway, I say "okey dokey" a lot to him and he understands that... lol

OMG I'M SO EXCITED!!! I just got my NOA2 in the mail!!! NOA1 received date was 02/03 and the NOA2 notice date is 05/09, though I just received it in the mail today, 05/24. The USCIS website still shows my petition as "Received", and USPS' Informed Delivery email for today did NOT show this letter! Check your mailboxes, folks!

Congratulations!!!   Just for information, it only shows the first 10 pieces of mail for each day.

I have enjoyed reading everything on VJ and learning. We decided NOT to submit our documents ourselves. Instead we paid someone to help prepare. Didn't like the expense, but we made our decision based on RFE. We assumed we had a better chance of avoiding RFE's. We will see if it pays off. Our NOA1 was Feb. 2. 🙏🏻

I'm praying you will receive yours soon. It's probably in the mail. :)

Congrats!!! I noticed on the tracker cases immediately around mine got RFEs and notices ... is it safe to assume that mine was touched and could be approved and in transit?? :) My receipt date is feb 1st as well  😭😭😭

Thank you. And yes I was thinking the same thing and then I received the notice today. Good luck.

    I received NOA2 today, finally.

The case tracker is still not working; it just says received. No e-mail notice either, even though I filed form G-1145. Our received date was Feb 1, and the NOA2 was dated May 16. I will be sending @iamdegie a private message with our case number so she can update her records.

To everyone else still waiting, hang in there!

Congratulations!!  I'm Feb 01 receipt date too. I'm looking for mine to come soon. I just checked online through USCIS, signed into my account and I had to select that I wanted to receive email/text notifications. I did send the G-1145 form when I applied, and I received an electronic notification when NOA1 was processed. It's weird that I had to sign up again for notifications.

U will, i know u will..God is good!.. so, did u received noa1 by email? Cause we've got ours by our mailbox... we dont put on my petition the form for electronic mails...

Yes, God is good!  I received notification through text/email for the NOA1. I then received the hard copy in the mail. From what I understand, many people do not receive any other notifications through text/email after the initial NOA1. You have to follow up on everything and make phone calls to find out, unless you wait for the paper copy to come in the mail. Even then, some have said that the paper copy never comes.

Tell me what you all think. This is the results of my scan for yesterday. For those of you that are new, the data is way off because USCIS either has decided to not submit approvals to the online status checker, their system is broken, or both.

Keep in mind that looking at this data is much like taking the red pill, once you see it, you have to live with the reality that USCIS doesn't work fast or in any organized fashion at all. You will know that your wait could be long and painful. You will stay in Wonderland, and I will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. :D:D

Thank you for doing this. I like the charts!  I have no doubt that the data is skewed. It's unbelievable that 300 cases have been touched for Feb and only ONE approval. Anyway, I've been checking the mail...nothing yet.

Dont worry... u will receive the noa2 later... just pray  and think positive..

look at ur timeline if what it says there.. cause mine says, i must received may 7 to may 15 d noa2...if we dont recieve it we need to call uscis california... but were so happy it comes on time!

again we need to wait for d manila case no. Almost 1 month waiting... again... 😀

My timeline on VJ ended May 14. I did call. I got the same update that it has been received... nothing more. However, I have contacted my congressman to see if he can find out something more. I mentioned that the online system wasn't updating properly. Hopefully, I'll hear something soon. I know it will come. I'm praying hard!

Im sorry... my mistake.... it was feb 1 petition and feb 2 d noa1.... im new here im still exploring d site... but it doesnt matter...  bdw, did u received noa1 too?

No problem. USCIS received my case on Feb 1 and this is the date that is used checking the online system. The notice was printed/dated Feb 03. I have the NOA1, but I'm still waiting for NOA2. Welcome to the site!

Anyone else here's date NOA1 date Feb 8th??  No word on NOA2 yet, my fiance and I are starting to get nervous. I'm hopeful we will hear something this week but I might have to call the California center soon. This thread has calmed me down a bit thought seeing how some people are also still waiting. Congrats to those of you who have gotten through this step though!! Surely the rest of us here will be approved soon enough!!

I'm Feb 01 NOA1. I haven't received any word on my case. I called CSC two days ago and only got the automated response. If you want to get more information, you would need to speak to a Tier 2 level worker.  I haven't done this, but I did contact my congressman and asked if he could just check on my case. I mentioned the online system wasn't updating properly, and when I call I just get the automated response (the same response I see online). Anyway, I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Sorry to bother again, we had a problem with the mailing address, we changed the address because in the first one we had problems receiving mail. So we called USCIS to ask for a change of address and to request them to resend again the letter.

In the letter we received it say:

    Received Date: 1st Feb

    Notice Date: 10th May

Is our NOA1 - 10th of May, even if they received our case the 1st of Feb? I'm freaking out right now

From what I see when I scan my case number, the USCIS goes by the receipt date. My case number is associated with the receipt date (Feb 01). The paper you receive in the mail has this date as well as the Notice date. This is the date the paper (notice) was printed out (it was mailed Feb 7.). My notice date was Feb 03.  I am following the receipt date with USCIS. On Visajourney, people say to enter the notice date (this doesn't make sense to me). It is confusing.

So we have our NOA2 and now I have a few questions

My love will be bringing her sweet daughter with her

Do we need to do separate DS-160 forms for them?

Do we need to have the interview?

Not so sure how the K-2 process works

    thanks in advance

Hi, yes. You will need to compete two DS-160 forms and pay the fee for both and have medical appointments for both as well. Age 14 and up are required at the interview. Check your embassy for specific requirements. Good luck!
