  1. My AOS was touched a couple of minutes ago - pretty much the same time as yesterday. I wonder if it's an automated updating thing that's going on, or if somebody really has just sat down at their desk and done something to my file? (ie put their mug of coffee down on top of it, most likely!)

Seems like they work that way, once it gets to CSC the AOS gets touched for 4 days and then stops..

Ive seen that in few signatures, and they have stopped for me as of the 10. You will prolly get a touch tomorrow as well!

Damn... don't want them to stop, I want my AOS touched at 9:30 sharp every morning!

And yeah, I've been studying signatures closely to see what's been going on with other people's touches. Hmm... interrrresting!

Good luck to all of us! :)

I didn't put it in my signature, but I also got touched every day for about four days after I got the pending at CSC email.

  2. My husband took my last name when we were married. I never thought I might change my name - I like my name, I identify with it, and my mother never changed her name. It wasn't important to me to have the same name as my husband, and it would have been alright to give our future children his surname. But he liked my name and was keen to take it, so he did. And it's cool. :)

  3. Regarding driver's licenses - My husband came here on a K1, and got both his SSN and his Indiana learner's permit before we were married. The learner's permit definitely didn't expire with his I-94. I can't remember the exact expiry date, but it's something like a year or two from the date of issue. He changed his name when we got married and got his SSN and LP updated with no trouble.

He'll be testing for his driver's license in a couple weeks, so we'll see if things are different. Getting the learner's permit was pretty easy, though.

He never drove back in England, but he played lots of video games, so it really was pretty easy to teach him to drive. He parks crooked, though.

  4. Hola! Our biometrics is scheduled for June 21. :)

I presume you're going to the Indy USCIS office? Remember to take $5 with you cos that's what they charge you for parking there! Rip-off!

Hilarious. Thanks for the heads up. I'm still deciding whether I should send Pigu (who will be newly licensed to drive at that point) up there on his own, or if I should take the afternoon off work and go with him. Probably the latter.
