Hi....so today I received a letter from the Orlando Field Office USDHS asking me to appear at their office at the end of July.

It says that I need to bring the letter, passport, birth certificate, Affidavit of Support, etc.

    But I have 3 questions...

    1) Why does the letter look so informal ? It looks like a Word page I could print myself comparing to the NOAs in the past. (lol)

    2) It only says that IF my spouse is petitioning for me on Form 1-130, he should be there and I should take proof of relationship. I didn't file the form 1-130, so my question is...does he have to be there?

    3) Is this the famous letter for the Green Card Interview?

Thanks for clearing this up for me :)

What does your status say on USCIS webpage? Mine says my interview has been scheduled. Also, I got the NOA for the interview requesting the same as you.

  2. Hi,

I was given a job offer and I'm wondering if theres going to be a problem because my SS Card has my maiden name on it. I havent been able to go change it, so now I'm wondering if this will be an issue with my new job.

Please help. Thank you for your input!

    Hi !

I just want to share some personal experience in case somebody is considering to travel to Canada.

We have applied for the Green Card ( interview waivered - still waiting) but the combo card is on hands. My husband and I were going to Canada for a family wedding.

    1. Ukrainians do need a visa to go to Canada UNLESS you have a Green Card ( if you have a GreenCard you dont need a visa to go to Canada).

    2. If you do need it - apply for a visa through the Canadian consulate in LA or NY ( it is an online application, but they will request to mail your passport a bit later. totall cost is around 150$ US)

    3. Crossing the border is not a problem - you show the passport with a visa, they stamp it and you are good to do.

    4. Going back. That might be fun.

    a) if you are driving and entering the US through a fairly small customs office be prepared THEY PROBABLY DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR COMBORAD IS!!!! Make sure to explain them! ( I mean it !)

Dont get too upset when they start asking you about a temporary greencard OR some weird forms ( I-150 or something like this) . The combo card replaced all of those.

    b) make sure you have your passport, your combo card and your marriage licence (especially if you were changing our name).

    c) plan your trip keeping in mind that it might take the customs a while to (GOOGLE? :P) and learn more about what your combo card is. It took us almost two hours to cross the border.

    Enjoy your trip!!!!

    Hey YandP

    Maybe you could help...

Did your wife get the Visitor Visa fromCanada while she had her EAD? I just applied for one and, like your wife, just have my EAD. Not sure Ill get the visa before this family trip in early June. Any input would be great! Thank you!! If you dont mind me asking, what documents did you send?  Was your wife working at the time of the application?

    THANK YOU!

So My wife just received her AP/Employment Combo Card.....the whole reason for applying for it was so we could go visit her brother in Vancouver BC from Seattle and also vacation a little up North.

Now we have discovered that the Canadian Government does not accept that documentation for entry into Canada and it is really only good for coming back to the US.....

Does anyone have experience with this ? with this card, is it any easier to get a multi entry Visa into Canada ? Any other way to make this work...

    Thanks for your input...ugggggg...another roadblock....!!!

    Cheers,

    Curt

  5. Hey guys,

Just an update. We hadnt hear anything about the approval of I-131 and I-1765 until last week. Fianally, I got an INFOPASS. The officer told us that our application was WAY behind (no kidding?!) and that she would personally call to find out what was our status.  She called me the next day to say I should be getting my combo card in a month!

We also contacted our Congressman and his office confirmed that the approval of I-131 and I-765 was expedite.  So it there we go! WE got a real confirmation that both my work and travel authorization will be approve soon!

So, if you are still waiting, please get an INFOPASS or/and call your Congressman!!!

Any november filers here still waiting on EAD with no RFE. I am a december filer (12/22), no RFE yet and no news yet on my EAD/AP. I raised SR day 92 , standard reply saying wait.

What should i do? spoke to level 2 officer on day 95 and today day 106. Standard replies.

Anyone who was waiting on EAD with no RFE beyond 100 days, what steps did you take? i am losing my mind

Still waiting on EAD with no RFE. In my case I filed 11/29.  This is driving me crazy!

  7. This is the safe choice. You can marry and try to AoS now, but if you come across a CO that has some kind of grudge against adjusting from tourist visa/VWP, then you may regret doing that.

Eric-Pris whats your problem? You seem to have issues about others people's decision on doing AOS from B1/B2 or other kind of visa.

    Please, dont misinform other people.
