    Hi,

Are there any April 2017 Houston filers who recently did their AOS interview.

How long did it take to get the green card in the mail after your interview date?

My interview has been scheduled for November.

I got my interview letter today! I filed I my AOS on April 2017, interview is on Nov as well ... we are in Houston.

🤗 now it is time to collect some items and get ready for interview.

We just went through the same process getting a drivers license renewed in Houston when the EAD was about to expire (3 weeks).  It took some assertiveness and persistence to overcome a number of human errors at the DPS, but we eventually got the license renewed for another year based on the pending I-485 status.

Meanwhile, we are on day 166 waiting for the EAD/AP renewal and day 503 waiting for the AOS. At least the DPS is faster than USCIS.

Hello, could you please tell me the DPS office that accepted your documents?

The one in Highway 3 rejected me twice.

When you get your interview notice make a post I will do the same. My license will expire this thursday, I am still waiting on EAD renewal. I applied for license renewal and checked the save system and I actually have to wait until it’s expired. I have to go back on friday once is expired so they can issue anothe license for another year.

Good luck! DPS did not help me with my expired license. We went twice ... they are not accepting extension letters.

I submitted my EAD/AP renewal documents 145 days ago ... so still waiting for a miracle to happen.

I just forgot the GC ... maybe by 2020 will get the interview 😂

    Hi Ninatica,

Print this list of documents for a CA license, highlight "valid/expired EAD Card with Notice of Action (I-797 C)" in the top right column and take it in with you, along with your EAD and extension letter. By law, in CA, that is valid. Employees are just not familiar with it. If they still refuse, ask to speak to a manager. I haven't done this yet as my EAD expires in December but I have heard of someone else doing so successfully and it is my plan for then. By their own rules, they have to renew your license based on that. Also please let me know how it goes :)

    DMV list: Federal_NonCompliant_dl_DocsList.pdf?MOD

    Good luck :)

In CA law is different since people must drive as a right. In Texas they do not care :( I called USCIS when DPS rejected my request (even my husband reached out to the manager from that DPS office) and they said that every state has its own rules.

Can't you renewal your driver's license with your NOA1 from Combo Card extension? I talked to Tier 2 officer and she told me I could do that, but that could also easily be a lie lol

unfortunately I went to the DPS office 2 weeks ago and they refused the NOA1 + 180 say extension. They said only EAD card is accepted to renew driver's.

I felt so sad and cried a lot since I am now pregnant and feeling sensitive. I need to drive to office and hospital to my appointments. My husband was with me and they did not care the extension. DPS in highway 3 in Houston.

I called USCIS and they said that the timing to get the EAD renewal is 4-6 months ... it used to take 90 days. This is crazy.

This morning i checked the new USCIS processing time website, and it shows something alarming.

Look like that the USCIS office in Dallas for the AOS family based is processing August 2015, anyone from Dallas has more information about it?

    Thank you.

I'm a Dallas AOS filer as well. Status was change to ready to schedule interview since June 19th. Received my EAD on mid August 2017, nothing since then

    Hello,

I am a Houston AOS filer too. My status was change to ready to schedule interview since June 21st. Received my EAD on mid August 2017, nothing since then. Wow ... same case over here 🤔😐

Hello Everyone! I haven't been active on the thread but I have been following. I am in the same boat as some of you where i have been waiting 81 days since my status changed to case ready to be scheduled. I need some reassuring words I didn't think it would take this long for an interview to be scheduled. Any one have updates. My case is in California but not sure which location? Anything would help!

    Hello Larry,

I am on the same boat, I got my EAD/AP already. However, my AOS status (I-485) changed to case ready to be scheduled 91 days ago. I am in Houston Texas, came on K1 Visa as well.

I have no idea when I would receive the interview notification (if any) either. I attended the Infopass appointment on 8/22 and the officer said that maybe by January 2018 since there is an important backlog.

I heard some case even no need interview

I had INFOPASS appointment on 8/22. The initial reason was EAD delay, since I got it before appointment I asked them about the GC appointment and the officer said that by January I would be getting the notification no matter if I came on K1 Visa.

    hey dear, quick question.

Is it your AP come with your EAD?

coz, when I checked EAD was producing, but last time I checked my AP case is still same

    thanks

    Hello dear, firstly congratulations 🌻🌻🌻

Yes, it is a combo card, you would receive your card along with a letter providing instructions. As soon as your EAD status says "emailed" you should wait 3 business days to get it.

My AP case status never changed, relax.

OMG I just saw the approval letter for my GC. And the case status states that my card was mailed. I wasn't even paying keep up with the status since the estimates lately are around 10 months. I didn't have an interview either. I am so excited.

Thanks visajourney and everyone who contributes their knowledge and data.

    Hello,  congratulations! 🤗🎉🎉🎉🎉

Did you attend any interview to get it?

    Congratulations once again

  12. Hello everyone!

I am happy that the majority of our cases have been resolved. I got my SS# this week 🎉🎉.

I got my EAD/AP combo 2 weeks ago. However, I have not received any appointment notification for my GC. I have read that you K1 fillers got the notification even though got the EAD/AP.

Now I am tracking USCIS Website to see if the status of my I-485 has changed.
