  1. I got my approval notice yesterday, which was a HUGE surprise because the USCIS website says they are processing I-129Fs dated May 1, and they received mine mid-June.

The expiration date of the notice is April 14, 2018. This only poses a problem because of finances, as we had anticipated at least 2-3 more months to save before getting the approval based on the website. Does the expiration date mean that he has to at least have submitted the visa application? Or does he also need to have an interview scheduled by then, too?

    Also! Re: I-134 - when/where do I send this...?

    Thank you!

  2. Hi!!

Last night I was just about to finish up my petition packet, planning on sending it out today when I re-checked everything for the 100th time... I got the instructions for the form from the USCIS website, but they did not correspond with my application.  I downloaded the form they supplied and it's totally different!  They NO LONGER include the G-325s, they are now included in the I-129F application itself, which is now 13 pages instead of 6!

I think this is so important for the VJ members to know, Lord only knows what would have happened had I sent in the out-of-date form!

I've attached the new form and instructions as well as linked to the website. Admins should fix this!

errrrrr, my mistake. Just saw that the VJ site DOES have the new form, but the instructions on the forum still say to include the G-325. My mistake! So sorry!

  3. Hi! I am going to send in my petition for my Canadian fiance within a couple of weeks. I am just trying to map out the whole process so we know what to expect. Once your fiance received the NOA2, about how long did it take for the petition to be logged in Montreal (obviously after passing through the NVC), and how did you know? Did they send you an e-mail? A lot of the information on this site is a few years old and I know circumstances may have changed. Thank you and congratulations!

100% agree that this not the most compelling evidence. Clearly, evidence of in-person visits are the best type of evidence, however, with that said, there have been many instances of RFE's being given which asked for evidence of ongoing communication (phone logs, etc.). If you look at these RFE, the requirements they outline for this include records that show (i) your name, phone number, (ii) your wife's name and phone number, and (iii) date and length of duration of call. So if you DO want to provide such evidence, just take these requirements in account.

The problem with that is that we do not make phone calls due to long distance/international charges... which I'm sure everyone here understands. If I need to call his number directly I do it through Google hangouts, which only stores logs for a few months and never the duration of the call.

  5. My fiance and I communicate through very frequent Skype video calls and through daily iMessages. The problem is that you can't get a single log of the Skype calls, only with messages (personal stuff in there), and because our texts are iMessages, they don't go through the phone company (only the Apple server) so there's no log of those.

Anyone run into this issue? How can I resolve this?

    Thanks

  6. Hi everyone,

I am petitioning for my fiance who lives in New Brunswick, Canada. Can anyone tell me about how long the process takes on his end? And will he seriously have to take TWO separate trips to Montreal (which has the closest government approved doctor)!?

I pretty much have an idea of what the process entails, but if anyone can shed some light on it, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you!
