  1. i'd also like to point out.. my status online has never changed nor did i get any notifications about my cases even though i have received a letter saying with my interview date.  i'm not complaining but just make sure you're keeping an eye out in your mailbox.  i've signed up for the USPS notifications for incoming mail and that's helped twice now for knowing that we've got mail in from USCIS that the case status never showed online.

  2. My wife and I just were traveling for the holidays and received a notification from USPS that we had mail from USCIS waiting for us at home (got that on 12/27).  We just got home today and found our interview notice scheduled for 1/30/2018!

For those not following, our priority date is 2/21/2017 which is roughly 310 days between notices and 340 days to the interview.

For anyone with experience with this.. my wife's medical is dates 2/01/2017 which will be just short of a full year on our interview day.  Should we bite the bullet and pay for a new medical to bring with us?

Update. So husband and I relocated from NYC to pittsburgh Pennsylvania due to family issues plus it's cheaper here anyways. We already had a notice for "interview is ready to be scheduled since may 30th".. we moved October and after changing our address n following the steps to do so in the first week of November we recieve the online notice saying "interview schedule for december 13" we now have the paper notice. Just waiting for the date now n preparing all documents...

Congrats. Seems like we should all

move to Pittsburgh. Hope the family issues have resolved and the move went well (it's a lovely city btw..). Good luck with the interview.. keep us updated!

    I have a SSN

Like Mollie said, you need your EAD in hand within 3 days of your start date for proper I-9 verification.  My wife just went about this and her employer delayed her start date by a day to give buffer room for the card to come.  For us it took a full week from card in production to card in hand.  I've heard a number between 1-2 weeks is normal for delivery.

I did that after seeing your post. but it seems like it only updates for packages but not regular mail idk. am waiting on interview notice cause I received. "the ready to be schedule status online around may 30th

Congrats on getting to that status so quickly!  The online tracking is definitely only for anything where a label is created.  Informed delivery tells you about mail actually showing up that day.

From everything I've read, "Ready to schedule status" could still take a while to change to actually interview being scheduled.  Lets definitely hope for the best though!

  6. Just a heads up for folks.  We got the update that the "Card was mailed to me" on Friday.  However that status never changed to picked up by USPS like I read that it often does and when we called USCIS to get a tracking number today, we were told it wasn't actually mailed yet.  That was a bit disheartening.

However, we are signed up for My USPS (you can enroll and confirm your home address on usps.com) and there in our package manager, we saw that we've got an incoming priority mail package from the USCIS office in Missouri with anticipated delivery date of this Thursday.

Definitely some great news since my wife has already missed her start date of today.  All in all, for us this process will end up taking just shy of 120 days =/

  7.

Yep, I came on a K-1 and the status still says fingerprint fee received.

I know that the section you linked is the more appropriate one for me, but there isn't a NY filer thread so I figured I'll join this one even though most of you guys probably came in different visas.

I noticed in your timeline you filed for an expedited EAD.  What is the criteria for doing so?  My fiance is has a job with a start date that's cutting it close to our anticipated EAD arrival date so would love to expedite it if possible.

It looks like we're on similar tracks! Biometrics appointment for us was 3/20.

Can I ask what your online case status says for your I-485? Mine is still stuck on "Fingerprint Fee Received".

Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received

On March 22, 2017, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

submitted AOS on 02/14/2017 marriage based. To Chicago lock-box. 130/485/765 New York City filer run down:

    1. USCIS received it on 02/17/2017

    2. Notice of acceptance for all three received text/email 03/10/2017

    3. Biometrics ASC received 03/14/2017

    4. RFE sent to us on 03/17/2017

    5. RFE in mail on 03/23/2017

REASON: FORGOT TO FILL NAME IN PAGE 3 PART 4 OF i-864 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT.

    6. RFE sent back on 03/24/2017

    7. USCIS received it on 03/27/2017

    8. USCIS text update notice of receipt on 03/29/2017

    9. Biometrics done one 03/28/2017

    10. Waiting for a decision

Haha. We had the same reason for the RFE. Go figure.

  10. Just an update.  My wife had her biometrics appointment on March 21st.  We also got an RFE because we forgot to put my name in one of the fields on the affidavit of support.  Go figure even after checking things 5 times, we still missed something silly.  Mailed that back as soon as we could and our case seems to be back on track.

Now begins the wait for the EAD/AP and then the interview date itself.  Looking at the 2016 thread, seems like June 2016 is being processed right now so about 10 months of waiting.

  11. We filed our AOS application combined (I131 and 485 along with EAD/AP) a few weeks ago.  We just got the physical NOA's (4 of them, one for each application) and are confused by a few things:
    1. The case is still not trackable online.. is that normal?  The receipt numbers all start with 'MSC'

    2. The Alient number for my wife is different than on the form that what we thought was her alien number.  We based it off the USCIS# from a previous EAD she's had.  Literally every document we submitted had the alien number thought but the one on the receipt is not it at all.  Is that a cause for concern or did the USCIS just update her application?

    3. None of the receipts actually have a 'Notice Date' or a 'Received Date' filled in.  The I131 and I485 have a priority date which is good but that's the only dates I see on any of the application.

That's all I've got.. thanks in advance for any help.

  12. Hey all,

I didn't see a New York City 2017 thread started up yet so I figured I'd kick one up so we can find who all is waiting here together.  We just sent my wife's package in this week (02/16/2017) and so are on the train to waiting.  Feel free to post your file date and keep us updated.  From everything I've read it's an 8-10 month journey here so lets be friends!

  13. I've got a few questions about the AOS application process that I'm hoping folks here can help me.

Here's the background first. My fiance is currently on a F1 student as a Master's student and I'm a US Citizen. We'd like to kick off the green card process as soon as we can so are considering getting legally married prior to our actual religious ceremony (we'd need to do these separately no matter what since we're getting married in Thailand and the process of that ceremony to be legally binding is pretty difficult).

    Now come the questions:

    1. After applying for AOS and filing the I-130 and I-465, can she still travel outside of the country and return on her F1 Visa (both her passport and F1 will still have her maiden name)?

    2. Can she still work and have a summer internship while we're pending the AOS to go through? We're concerned that the F1 would pretty much become invalidated since she'd now have 'immigration' intentions.

    3. What are typical processing times in NYC UCICS? Is there an office in NJ that we should process through instead?

Thanks in advance for any info.
