  1. Not a question, but I'm just so relieved right now that I want to share this.
Had my biometrics appointment initially scheduled for 12/23/2019 (Nebraska filer), which was supposed to be in the Chicago Application Support Center.

But my husband is in the military and we currently live 16 hours away from Chicago due to his orders, just until the end of January. That's why we had an early walk-in in the New Orleans field office today, which is the ASC closest to our current location. At first they didn't want to accept our walk in, but after explaining our situation, they were nice enough to take my biometrics. I'm very happy and relieved that I don't have to reschedule or fly to Chicago. USCIS updated my status already too!

I hope all goes just as smoothly for everyone else in here!

So I have a theory, could be wrong. Looks like cases assigned to MSC get their biometrics appointments scheduled very soon after initial filing, then wait more than a year for approval, while cases assigned to other service centers have their biometrics as the last step in the approval process. This isn't 100% accurate, as I've seen at least one recent case assigned to CSC get their biometrics appointment pretty quickly. If you look at the aggregate timelines you see lots of cases where the biometrics appointment is scheduled well over a year after filing and the green card is approved very shortly afterwards.

That's really interesting. I'd actually welcome that, since my husband and me will be living halfway across the country for 4 months due to military orders, and I'm really hoping that my biometrics appointment won't be scheduled during that time.

My application sits at the Nebraska Service Center, so I'm checking every day if anyone else from that Center has gotten their appointment yet.

Has anyone crossed the bridge of trying to renew your drivers license with the extension letter? I guess most people here's GC's aren't expired yet so neither are their licenses but I'm a bit worried about them giving us a hard time with the expired GC and extension letter...

I renewed my drivers license with my extension letter last friday! It was absolutely no problem at all. All they needed was my old drivers license (that expires next month), my green card, the extension letter, my SSN card and a bank statement in my name sent to our address, to prove residency. The lady who was helping me simply had to make a call somewhere, but that's it. Getting my new drivers license in the mail within the next 2 weeks :)

Edit: I just remembered the lady telling me that the day before they had another person coming in, also renewing their drivers license with a Green Card extension letter. I don't know if that was the reason why it went so smooth for me - because they knew the process then - but long story short it shouldn't be a problem!

  4. Like e&e4ever said, yes, the same happened to me: I updated our address even before we moved and my GC still got sent to our old address, weeks after that.

It took USCIS 6 months to resend my Card, even after calling them frequently (Just some weeks ago I FINALLY received my darling Green Card in the mail. Yay!).

If they would enforce to resend cards within 60 days as well, that would be amazing :D

  5. I wouldn't worry too much! We met through Instagram, I was an Influencer and my now USC-Spouse stumbled upon my profile. We explained this in a letter when sending in my K1 application, and I was asked "How did we meet each other" at the Interview in Germany, but the officer didn't have an issue with that at all.

I never thought about sending in the ToS, EULA or Privacy Policy to be honest, so I'm glad this was never an issue.

Best of luck on your journey!

  6. Hello everyone!

To my situation: I filed for my AOS on March 10., and me and my USC husband had to move to another state in early September due to his military orders.

I changed the address through the USCIS website 5 days before we moved, and my status was still on "Biometrics Fee was received" (they never updated my status at all).

However, after moving, it suddenly said that my Green Card was in production and then sent out on September 19! I couldn't be happier that I got approved, especially without an interview.

Now it's been 2 weeks since they sent out my Green Card in the mail, and I'm getting slightly nervous if and when it will arrive here to our new address. Of course we also informed USPS about our address change and that they'll forward mail from our old address to our new one,

but wheeew I just want it to arrive safe and sound.

To feel a little better I thought I could ask here if anyone had a similar situation, or if you know if the Green Card letter will be forwarded to us too?

I'm certain they sent it to our old address, because I just received an email yesterday, stating the change of address was successful. A little late for that now but oh well :D

Thank you really much for reading and I hope you have a great day!

  7. Congrats! Our status is "Card was sent out on the 19th September" as well!

For anyone asking, my status stated for several months: "Biometrics Fee received", then they never updated it again... Until it changed to "Card in production" on the 16th, and then to "Card was sent out" on the 19th!

I just hope it arrives soon. We moved 2 weeks ago and I updated to our new address, so I just cross my fingers they got my address right.

  8. I kinda have the same problem. I filed in March 2017 and my USCIS case status doesn't update at all (EAD/AP on "case received" even if I have it for almost 2 months now etc), so I'm not sure when my Interview will be ready.

Because of my husbands job we will have to move from Virginia to Illinois, to Mississippi, to Illinois again, to finally Iowa - all within 2017 and 2018.

So I'm actually interested if you guys think if it would be better to always update my address every single time or to just put in the address of my Mother-in-law's place....

(Worst time to move, I know!!! *sigh sigh*)

  9. I filed on the 13th of March 2017 and received my AP/EAD card on the 26th June 2017, which means it took 106 days. (I know a little earlier than this thread but maybe it's still helpful?)

What's annoying me so much though is that they still didn't update my USCIS status on their website: it still states "My case was received" and for my Green Card: "Fingerprints Fee has been received", even though I already had my biometrics appointment.

    Hope you're receiving yours soon!

  10. No because you got the sealed package.

Just a really short question to you if you don't mind. I called at the doctors office, they are going to send me the DS-3025 to my German adress the next weeks (luckily my parents will pick it up).

I don't need this document for my POE though, right? I guess there's some copies of it in the sealed envelope so no need to show a physical copy myself? Thank you!

  11. It's from the doctor. If they didn't give it to you then contact them tomorrow so you get it.

I'll definitely do that, thank you so much!

I didn't get anything from him other than my lung x-ray CD. He said to me, quoted from what I remember, that there's some new procedure and he had to send in my blood tests/... to another office, which took a week to get the results from. Maybe that's why I didn't get anything from him right away...? -_-

  12. When I did my medical I got a hardcopy of my results in a sealed envelope and one printed out for my personal records. If you didnt get a hard copy of it you can always go to the doctors office and ask for a hard copy. They might charge you with a little fee but they will have all your results in their system for a few years.

That might be a really good idea!! It seems like I need it for my AOS so I should try to do that... I didn't get anything at the doctors office other than the CD with my lung xray. Thank you really much!

  13. Hello everyone!

I'm happy to say my K1 Visa was approved and arrived last Saturday all safe and sound. Just to share my excitement, I'll fly to the US coming Saturday morning. Yay!

However, I'm just wondering what happens to the medical examination results after the interview, does anyone know that? I don't know if they're in the sealed envelope or not (obviously I would never open it before my POE. Yes, really obviously :content:), but I'm just wondering if I'll ever receive them myself.

I'm also wondering if I'll need the examination results for my AOS as a "hard copy". I know as a K1 fiance you don't need to do a second medical examination if your last one isn't so long ago, so I'm wondering how I would prove that I already did mine...?

The paranoia person I am, I'm a little worried I am originally supposed to have them, so I thought opening a thread on here would make me feel a little better.

Thank you really much for replying!
