  1. Hi everyone , i hope I can find an answer to my question.

We applied last August 2017 for the adjustment of status and I received my work permit last December 2017 since then I didn't heard from the uscis for the interview , when I check my case it says : At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case . Please call the contact center for more information , wich I did couple of time and the contact center is not giving any answers all they said wait for a month then call again

Does anyone had the same thing or have any idea ?

    Thanks for the help !!

    Thank you brother

I don't know why the person who work in embassy confused me

One more thing do they immigration officer concern about NOA-2

Since mine NOA-2 will expire before entering to USA

    Is this a problem?

if you're entering the US with a k1 visa u will not pay anything but if you're entering the US with cr1 visa i guess u will pay the fee

my noa2 expired before i entred the usa it doesnt matter as long is your visa still valid

  3. i guess that depend on each state , i went to pass the driver licence and the person in charge in the DMV told me that my case need to be approved first and to bring the i-797 that will show that . but he said that i can drive with my moroccan licence and have my passport or any thing that can show i entred legally to the country with me till i pass the test . the problem is my wife tried to add me to her insurance car but the company refused that till i get my ID

Purpose is to convert your American civil marriage certificate into a Moroccan recognized marriage. You would take the form that the consulate in Washington gives you back to Morocco to the moudawanna and then you and your spouse can get things like a family book. I think the main purpose is if you and your spouse ever planned to live in Morocco and she need a spouse visa to stay, so a recognized marriage is a must. Your English one is fine, mine is in English as well.

Thanks for your help i appreciate it

We have been married almost 4 years.  We haven't done this and have no interest in it.  When we travel to Morocco we take a copy of our Islamic marriage certificate to show to the hotels or people we are renting houses from.

Does the Islamic marriage certificate have your names . Witnesses names . Signatures and the amount of money that your husbands gave you "Mahr"?

Hi can you give me a follow up on your entry into the US? Me, my fiancé and daughter will be flying out in a few weeks and her petition has expired months ago but she does have a valid k1. I'm just really worried cause all of these threads talking about their bad experiences.

Hi don't worry my petition was already expired and they didn't ask about it at all what counts now is a the valid visa

  7. I heard on line that if the petition i129 F expired before I enter the US and it will expired on June 7,2017 it can cause a deportation from the port of entry and I booked the flight on June 28th  . Note that my visa will expire on October 2017

Anyone have passed by the same situation or have any idea ?

I appreciate it your help :)

From what I understood from this visa type comparison chart: http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare, it appears that, contrary to K1 visa holders, CR1 visa holders are automatically gain Legal Permanent Residency status upon entering the USA and get their Green Card shortly after. This explains why CR1 requires pre-paying the free before entering the US territory; otherwise (https://www.uscis.gov/file-online/uscis-immigrant-fee#How to Pay the Fee):

    • USCIS will not send you a Green Card until we receive your USCIS Immigrant Fee payment. If you fail to pay your fee, USCIS will send you a notice requesting payment.
    • If you do not pay the fee within the time listed in the notice, you will not receive your Green Card.  Failure to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee will not affect your status as a lawful permanent resident but you will only have evidence of your lawful permanent status for one year from the date of your admission, as evidenced by the temporary I-551 stamp placed in your passport by CBP at the time of your admission.

Why would a K1 visa holder have to pay the immigration fee knowing that he/she won't be granted the Permanent Residency and Green Card until after he/she gets married and goes through the removal of conditions step first (which have their own, much more expensive, fees)?

thats sounds more logical , i will wait and see what will happen after i enter the US if they ask for paying it then i will from there

No, you don't need to pay anything :)

A shorter version would state that "All individuals issued immigrant visas overseas must pay a US$165.00 USCIS Immigrant Fee before traveling to the United States. Only bla bla bla and those issued K visas are exempt from the new fee."

But why they attached to the envelope a paper that says I need to follow the steps and pay the $165 online . That's really confusing

K1 Visa are exempt from paying the fee. Please see the following:

    USCIS Immigrant Fee

Effective February 1, 2013, all individuals issued immigrant visas overseas must pay a US$165.00 USCIS Immigrant Fee before traveling to the United States.  Only prospective adoptive parents whose child(ren) is/are entering the United States under either the Orphan or Hague Process, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants who were employed by the U.S. government, returning residents, and those issued K visas are exempt from the new fee.  The below USCIS website has more details on the new fee, including contact information for USCIS, if there are further questions: www.USCIS.gov/immigrantfee.

It means that i should pay it before entering the US . Thanks everyone for making it clear . I appreciate it

Ditto for above as well. If you are just passing through a country as in a layover you should be fine. What airport is his final destination?

His final airport will be Salt Lake City international.  I am looking at a flight with a 6 hour lay over in Boston.  He will have to go through Point of Entry in Boston if i get this flight.

  12. All, I am Mehdi’s fiancé, and I am trying to book his ticket to the USA.  I am a little lost because I know in a lot of countries he will need a transit visa.  What countries does he need a transit visa for and what ones does he not need one?  I am seeing a lot of tickets that travel through Canada and Spain.  I read somewhere he needs one for those counties.  I also see a ticket for Portugal but the layover is short and that makes me nervous.   What is the best thing to do?  What did others do?
