More details will be needed...US immigration is very strict with adoptions.
For instance
- Age of child?
- Do they have any living parents?
- Will they be living with their adopted parent for at least 2 years before coming to the US?
She is 1 day old, she was born this morning.
She has living parents who is my 15 y/o niece who wants to give custody to myself and my husband, agreed upon very early in her pregnancy.
Yes, I will be living in Ghana with her for the next 2 years.

Has anyone been through the adoption process to bring a child from Ghana to the USA? Timeframes? Cost? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Bring them ALL! Although they have all the documents, you may want to cover yourselves by bringing the originals of what you have already sent and some supporting documents as well. I included what seemed like small things but they came in handy, ie: the stubs to my flights, receipts for dinners, movies, groceries. I tried not too overlook the small
things, I hope this helps. 🙂

I know what the link at NVC says but I also know embassies like to play games sometimes. 😅
Aboa me.

No correction as of yet. We will need to send it back via DHL and wait. 🙂
Were you able to get a status update?

Are you referring to your name as in regards to a background check? Is you name very common? I really hope you get some answers soon, be sure to follow up ASAP, if not, please try to get your local Congressperson to assist you! 🙂

@Ameerazak,what was ur status after your interview?was it in Administrative Processing when you were requested to submit your medical and police report?
Yes! The status changed to AP immediately after the interview, docs and medical were given to DHL on the 29th of January, on Feb 5, the status changed to issued, Visa picked up on Feb 15th. The visa will be returned on Monday to correct a few errors.🙂
I hope that helps!

My wife and Son went to their interview on the 3rd January, everything went well, he then requested a police certificate from the uk as he asked her if she travelled outside Ghana before and she said yes and stayed more than six months, so she submitted it on the 18th January along with her passport and my son's passport which was return to her after the interview with the white form"marked" 2x and police report uk at DHL office as instructed. So since then their case status has been in "administrative Processing" and the case date has been updated 3 times January 3rd{ interview Date},18th January{submitted additional Documents} and February 9th.But the status remain in administrative processing.I don't really know what to do now.Any ideas?I email Citizenship Services on the 6th February but they replied that they don't deal with Visa's.Anyone have similar situation?it been 6 weeks since interview and 4 weeks since submitted additional documents.
That's a tough one, because it's hard to know exactly what they are doing behind the scenes. You can always email the embassy directly but not the citizen services department for an update. Also, I have read where people have gotten their local Congressperson to help assist them with getting a status.
The email address for an immigrant visa inquiry for Ghana is:
support-ghana@ustraveldocs.com
Phone: Phone: +233 (0) 30 274 1000
I hope this helps!

Does he have to go all the way back to Accra??
Yes, he will need to go back to Accra.
-
He shouldn't have to repay, he can just go back and show the error, unfortunately, the turn around time for a correction may become the real issue.

Actually, it looks as if they put his middle and last name as his first and middle and put his first name as is last name and spelled that name wrong.
