No. Sorry I wasn't clear. My cousin is a us citizen by birth. Her daughter however was born outside of USA. They applied for n-600 and was approved today. It's been a process that should have been handled since she was a baby but it wasn't. Hence why I said it was long over due. Her mom (my cousin) has always lived in USA. Her daughter always lived outside of USA

Oh ok so she doesn't do an oath then? How does she get her certificate? her daughter im assuming would have to apply for her own passport since she's an adult. It's been overdue.

But now... we have questions The Oath Ceremony once scheduled would probably be mailed in a separate notice, I'm sure. what if the applicant never had a us visa? (the applicant applied while outside of USA) what is the next steps or what is to be expected?

Anyone out there applied for their passport already? I know they say 6-9 weeks from processing. My husband years ago when he applied for his passport although he chose the standard, it took less than 4 weeks. I am assuming with covid there may be a back up still... How long did it take for those who applied?

The i-140 is what he can use to petition for himself.. or the hospital. n like I've mentioned before it's his plan to go home. I want to be equipped with all the knowledge so I can pitch the idea of coming here and keeping his options opened. I know nothing about this so I come to vj.

Thank you for your insight. I am a naturalized USC. I am asking for my My brother who has had a b1/b2 visa and visited me on his breaks. I want the information in full so I can make him keep his options opened. The information regarding how he can obtain a license to work in USA never mentioned anything about legal residency. I thought in order to be able to live and work you would need a greencard. With that said, I am still confused. I adjusted from my B1/B2. since he already has a visa to enter which he has used in the past to enter can he not enter do the medical licensing and then adjust? Or does he do the licensing exam, pass and then gets hired by a hospital n let them sponsor?

My relative is a bilingual med student studying overseas and is about to graduate in a month. My brother has already completed his rotations and would be interested in completing his residency in USA since he would have to wait til September to begin residency back home. Has anyone gone through this process? Does one do the adjustment of status first and then the medical license exam? What is the timeframe to adjust? or Did the hospital sponsor the visa? Which came first? The medical license exam or the sponsorship? How long did it take? Thank you for your guidance in advance.

Yes!!! I went to the social security office and got to register the same day. My group was a special group. First group they had people assisting with voters registration. I'm not sure if it will continue. Also first group since covid to allow friends n family at the ceremony. I was disappointed because I didn't know they started allowing family and friends at the ceremony I would have loved to have my family with me. I cried twice lol. Nevertheless I'm so happy it's over.

bites nails.... CONGRATS... I already packed my bag with my orginal docs n copies n all my ids and interview card n placed that bag in the car... nervous as hell. Same day oath, thats AMAZING.. How was it???
