Auckland consulate? I think they may be unique in terms of approving B-2s. My husband got one easily (prior to our K-1 filing), despite being from a VWP country, and hearing from everyone here that B-2s in VWPs are seldom approved.
This was actually at the Sydney consulate. Back then I held a passport from a country that required a visa to visit the U.S.

Tourist visa or ESTA?
Tourist visa. I also indicated on my application form that I had a pending petition.

Normally I’ve heard that if your immigration petition is on file and your case is in progress they don’t allow you to apply for a visit visa;
so what happens if you already have a valid visit visa but are now in the process of your immigration case. Will this affect anything? Can my parents still visit me? While their immigration case is still very slowly progressing?
I had a pending immigrant visa petition when I applied for a visit visa which was granted. I then visited the US twice on that visa with no problems.

Approved!
how did you go?
Congratulations!!!
Mine hasnt been approved yet.
They didnt get NZ police cert so I have to make another request. But he said, everything is in order and as long as I have no record then i should expect to receive the passport in the mail with the visa stamped. Til then I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hehehe.

I also forgot to put it in an envelope before I put it in the courier envelope. Huhuhu hope all goes well. I was just being silly. Got back from holidays on the same day and couldnt wait to post it out.

That is a lot. Although in my case they don't require as much since I am employer-sponsored and exempt from a lot of the income/support requirements. I will send mine on Saturday.

Yea, i think so. Just need to get updated Kiwi-saver balances and such.
Got to remember to send the documents to the Embassy the week prior. I checked, They are ok with the documents being couriered up (i'm in New Plymouth).
Have you been to the Consulate before? be aware that its like airport security to get in. Hand over all bags and electronic devices. You only take in your paperwork.
I'll keep an eye out for you on the 17th, I'm Drew if you want to say hi
Kiwisaver? Did you ask you for that? In the email from the consulate they asked for evidence of funds/assets.
I'm Vince btw.

That's good!!!
Have you got all documents ready?

Good to know. I've got mine on Tuesday. Not really looking forward to it.
How long did it take?
Appointment was for 14.00 but got there at 13.25 and didnt get called in till about 14.15. Finally completed everything at 17.00 (nurse, urine test, doctor, vaccines, blood test, and x-ray).
If you have a friend who works in hospital and has access to EMLA (numbing cream). Ask them to give you some. Worked magic for my partner who is needle-phobic. Apply about an hour before your appointment.
-
Just had my medical.
Make sure you have all your vaccination records. Otherwise you're about $100 out of pocket plus you get jabbed twice plus you have to do the blood test as well! My partner and I feel so weak and sleepy after those two vaccines so make sure you have a good rest afterwards. It is an expected side effect I think.

I got the forms from Remuera medical, you are right, there are a few more forms to fill in.
I also got an email from the Auckland Consulate, mostly a rehash of stuff I already knew, some different things though, they want
* Passport photos in NZ size (not US size)
* A copy of my resume
* A self addressed A4/Foolscap courier bag (signature)
Getting plenty of experience filling in forms :/
Yes I got an email from the consulate with all the forms attached.
Did you get all the medical forms from them ad well?

You have to get the forms online. Its in a PDF of instructions. The last page is a medical form that you take to the appointment (along with the interview letter, your passport, vaccination records and some passport photos)
See attached.
Ive emailed Remuera Medical to make an appointment, awaiting a response.
I already got that but apparently theres another bunch of forms that the consulate will email.
I will give them a call and ask if they could email it asap because i want my medical done this month as I am away 10 days before the interview (and they require it to be done at least 2 weeks from the interview date).

I just tried booking my medical and they asked if I already got all the forms.
Did you get any medical forms from NVC or the consulate?

IR-1 visa. (Spouse of a US Citizen)
My case complete was 1 Feb. Got the email a few days later (8th feb) We got the same message "in the queue waiting for an appointment"
From what I have read, the NVC schedules appointments at the end of the month, so hopefully there might be some progress end of feb.
Oh wow okay then. I only got one email. I dont know when exactly my case was completed.
I'll keep you updated on here.

Another Kiwi! I'm in New Plymouth, where are you?
I'm in the same situation. Case complete at NVC, awaiting interview appointment. I'm interested to hear how long it took others as well.
Yay!!!
I'm in Auckland.
What visa are you getting? I am getting an EB-3 which is employment based.
When did NVC deemed your case complete? I got an email on the 10th Feb saying I am in the queue waiting for an appointment. You?

Anyone here from New Zealand who have had their interviews at the US consulate-general in Auckland?
I want to know how soon after NVC deemed your case complete or documentarily qualified before you got your appointment date?

Good day everyone,
My name is Vinal.
I have a question for everyone.
I was given an EB3 visa in 2014 (petitioned by an employer), however due to the poor health of my father (I was the only relative he had), I had to keep deferring my immigration to the states until my immigrant visa expired.
My questions are:
1.) Will this pose a problem for when I decide to immigrate to the States again?
2.) What will be my priority date? Will it be my old priority date in 2005 or will USCIS give me a new one?
Thanks very much.

Hello guys,
Does anyone have any experience with LPRs petitioning unmarried son over the age of 21?
The son is planning to adjust status in the U.S. then apply for Employment Authorization Document.
Is this possible at all?
Thanks for your replies.
