I received this exact RFIE last month.  I too thought I had filled out all sections needed. It turns out that there is a page towards the back called "additional information" or something to that effect that the name part gets automatically filled in when you fill in page 3 part 4.  When I got to the end and saw my name in that section that I didn't need I deleted it, which in turn deleted my name on Page 3, part 4.

The part in the RFIE about the joint sponsor confused me too because I did not have nor do I need a joint sponsor. So what I did was send in a new 864 making sure that page 3, part 4 was filled in and added all the necessary supporting documentation needed for an 864 as if it were the first time sending it in.  I know I sent in tax transcripts that I had ordered, a letter from my employer, my birth certificate. There might have been more documents but I am not near my file right now so I can't refer back. I did not send in W2s since it is not needed if you send in an official IRS transcript.

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for your replies, I will send everything again tomorrow. This has been so confusing but thanks jnicolel  for sharing your experience with this RFIE, it gives me more peace of mind. I'll send The 864 completed, IRS transcripts  and the other documents I first sent. Hope It's fine now. Thank you so much. I will update my case when I receive news from USCIS. Thanks!

  2. Hello VJs

I have a question, that may be silly but I have some doubts about completing this affidavit, since I received an RFIE and must submit the form again for me and for my son. We received the same RFIE

    well, my question is:

Page 2, Part 3 Information about the immigrant you are sponsoring  .- should I tick box number 1 (yes) or  box 2? or both?

    1. I am sponsoring the principal immigrant name in Part 2:

yes                   no (Applicable only if you are sponsoring family memeber in part 3 as the second joint sponsor)

    2. I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within six months of the principal immigrant named in Part 2. Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition.

    * My son and I are filing AOS together, in my first form I ticked both boxes and completed Family member 1 with my son's information, Is  that right? or should I have ticked only number 2 box? image attached

    thank you

  3. My husband just asked a lawyer and he said that we need a "complete tax return" and that it takes 30 days to get them ..what???

I'm reading and some filers sent form 1040 which can be completed online, do I have to complete that one as well per each year??

or are these tax return transcripts  all what we need,

are they like "Complete tax returns"?

are they what the RFIE asks for: "Most recent Federal Income tax returns"?

Oh no I think I missed important docs :-( , different names for the same docs?

Thank you so much for your help :-) this is stressful

  4. yes, and they were all properly completed, or is it that they need more supporting documents for this affidavit?? they should have specified that... don't you think so? , what I sent was:

    ·         Copy of my husband birth certification (US)

    ·         Copy of his passport Bio page

    ·         W2 (years: 2016, 2015 and 2014)

    ·         Certificate of Employment

    ·         Recent pay stubs

same kind of docs we sent when we filed petition I-129F,  but these were updated of course.

    I don't understand, :(

  5. Hi, everyone,

    I received an RFIE that says the following;

    • Form I-864 Affidavit of support was submitted; however page 3, part 4 of the petitioner/sponsor's form I-864 list someone other than the petitioner/sponsor or Page 3 part 4 is blank.

Submit a completed and signed Form I-864, (revision date of 07/02/2015), for the petitioner/sponsor listed on Form -130 or form I- 129F. Even if a joint sponsor will be used, the petitioner/sponsor must submit Form I-864. Also provide copies of the petitioner/sponsor's most recent Federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules)

I'm sure I completed with my husband name and address and didn't leave part 4 blank (I only left blank part 4 from 4a-4h because I previously ticked on the box that says that the physical address is the same as the mailing address). Or should I have completed it as well???

    • Form I-864 Affidavit of Support was submitted from a joint sponsor; however, the names listed on page 1 and page 3 are not the same.

Submit a completed and signed Form I-864, (revision date of 07/02/2015), from a joint sponsor,  Also provide copies of the most recent Federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules), and evidence of their status as a United States citizen, United States national, or Lawful Permanent.

We didn't submit a joint sponsor because we don't need it. I wonder is this is  because they say that "page 3 part 4 was wrong or blank" that also caused this problem????

Help please, I called USCIS but they don't give solutions or advice or reference to any specific problems.

I have a suggestion for you: have you tried out your local public library's Kindle and audiobook collection? You'll find that most cities and towns in the US have excellent print and digital resources - and at least in five different states I've lived in, the collection has been better than what I get on Kindle Unlimited.

I would recommend browsing your local public library's Kindle book or audiobook collection and reading/listening to what they have to offer. Try it :)

Additionally, try podcasts while running errands or doing chores around the house. My gringa friend who's moving to Mexico to flee Trump is doing that and it's working well for her.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds great! I was checking the local libraries websites and I just need to get a library card. As soon as I receive NOA in the mail I will be able to start driving license process  and will be free!! ? ... to see places around.

From personal experience, I moved around that age as well to a new country where I had to learn English and barely knew any before that. It was kind of hard and scary the first couple of weeks because I have clear memories of people speaking to me and I didn't understand anything. But within 2-3 months or so, I was fluent. I really think your son will be fine. You'll look back at this day in a few months and realize how far he has come. Maybe try teaching him basic things, but he will pick it up really quick. Good luck! And don't worry - kids are amazing at adapting!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Less worried now ?. I'm helping him at home, too. It's all an adventure for him.

Fingers crossed and that our notifications arrive this week. ?

I guess they ignored the first 3 days of March ?

My english is poor too, i need to improve my comunication skills and i am a little shy person too lol.. I think the only thing will be to start working and taking classes.. My wife speaks our home language at home

Yes, I will be really thankful with the NO1, so I can get a drivers license to start interacting with others and doing things by myself. Now I'm stuck in the house. Hope they touch/notice our packets this week.

Hello ..did you recive Any text, email yet? i am still waiting .. And nothing happened

Hi, I'm still waiting, too. It's been over 15 days now since it was delivered. In the meantime I'm devouring books with kindle unlimited and improving my English. My son is going to join school next week (5th grade) he doesn't speak English. Anyone in the same situation? Any thread I can follow to get information on how to help him? Thanx

  10. What good news!!! Congratulations TL2016 and atuegwu ... it's good to wake up and start the day with good news ?. I hope mine will be processed soon too,  very excited about it,  here in SC the DMV asks for the AOS -NO1 to accept applications for a drivers license. Without a car here where I live, you cannot go anywhere or do anything, not even going to a grocery store, anyway I am enjoying time at home too.

So, next thing after u receive you N01 in the mail, will be the appointment for biometrics ?, I guess. Congratulations again ?

Good morning, I fill out the online forms ds-160 for me and my children. Then I registered as the instructions say, but when I enter all the information, I get a message that my case number is not ready for the appointment. I do not get at any time the payment coupon, as that coupon is generated then.Pleaseee help meeee

    thanks

Well you need to check some things:

Number 1 : did you check the status of ur case here: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx ,( status must say "ready") otherwise you have to wait,  If so,

Number 2 : Payment . Did you already pay the fees? you cannot schedule an appointment if the fees havent been paid. It takes 48 hours after payment to be activated. A mail is sent to confirm payment has been received.

number 3: the "coupon is generated when u registered. Fist, you receive an email with the account registration then complete your information (name , passport, DS-160 number etc). Choose DHL office, and then generate the "coupon" (I understand you have to include your children here ( there is an option that says: ADD another applicant). After this, a mail will be sent with the payment instructions,   print the doc and take it to Scotiabank, that paper has the total to be paid and PIN  number for the bank ( follow the instruccions that the embassy sent you (packet4). Finally Wait until payment is confirmed (you will receive an email) It can take form 2 to 10 days.

Once payment is confirmed, you can schedule your interview.

  12. Hi!

    1. "Certificado de antecendentes judiciales a nivel nacional" - I paid S/.37.7 soles at Alberto del Campo #1050. Referencia Cuadra 31 de la Av. Salaverry. There are two types green and yellow. The one you need is Green color!

    2. "Antecedentes Policiales" - It's type 2 (Para uso en el extranjero", price is 133.30 soles. The only place that issues this is at Av. Aramburu. They will take fingerprints and a dental examination.

    3. "Certificado de antecedentes penales" - I went to Lima Center and paid S/.52.80 at Banco de la Nacion.

    I hope this helps!

Yes, Thanks a lot... Our interview is on 25th October ? I think we have the wrong docs. We will get them ASAP Thanks again

  13. Hi!

Your fiancee has to pay the visa fee at Scotiabank and keep that receipt because the agents at the embassy will ask for it. Our case was ready for two months and the embassy did not send us any instructions. My fiance sent an e-mail and the next day the embassy sent us the instructions electronically. You don't have to wait for the Embassy to contact you because it will not happen, in fact, we received the instructions letter two weeks after i arrived in the USA with my k1 visa jaja.

We decided to wait two months after our case was ready to have the interview, that was our choice but if you want the interview date asap then i'd recommend sending an e-mail. They will give a list of doctors. You will need your interview date to schedule an appointment for the medical. Once you have it, call any of the doctors to set a date. I went to Clinica Angloamerica with Dr. Corigliano.

Make sure your fiance has all the right documents, i know a couple whose case was on AP for two months after the interview in Lima because they provided a wrong judicial record. I went to the interview with my fiance and it only lasted 30 seconds! It was very easy.

I'm happy to help, let me know if you need anything else.

    Valeria

Thanks for your reply. We have three certificates: the judicial, penal and police certificates. What should it say in the judicial record ? The one we got says: Solicitado para: "Tramite" (valido para uso nacional y en el extranjero). About the police certificate, we got type 1 (tramite administrativo) the same for the penal certificate.

Did you get the same or different ones?

We really apreciate your help. This process is really stressful.

  14. Thanks! So i will have to fill another DS160 but rescheduling the interview with the new bar code is not necessary, am i right?

I have been looking for info about this online but could not find specific information.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hi, I need some help.

When you pay for the visa fee (after completing DS-160)Did you pay at Scotiabank or at the embassy? Our case is "ready"b ut the embassy hasn't sent anything to me yet (instructions). How long did it take for you to receive the instructions after your case was ready? and how did you schedule the medical test?

    thanks in advance

  15. I would wait until it changes to ready - but you can email the embassy and ask. That might help move things along.

The embassy doesn't send an appointment letter. You will need to bring the interview confirmation page - that is generated when you make the appointment online.

Great! Thank you so much, you have helped to make it more clear for me. I hope it changes soon, it has been "in transit " for over a week now. We were told (NVC) this could take up to a month.
