Just received our interview date! Jan 25th. We were May 2017 filers. My case status hasn't changed on line either.

They actually sent it on Dec 20th but sent to our old address (we have auto-forwarding) even though I notified them on 17th Dec that we had moved (we moved on the 16th). That generated an auto-reply saying they would contact me by 29th Dec. I didn't receive any further contact so perhaps I should call them to make sure they have our new address.

Now to read up on what to take to the interview!

Yeah, you should call them to make sure they have your new address. They mailed my green card to our old address too, I wouldn't have known if my ex-housemates didn't contact me.

  2. Congrats to everyone who got their interview and combo cards, it's nice to see everyone progressing!

I haven't heard anything about my green card since May and we recently moved to another state (Maryland). We don't move into our new place till end August so I haven't updated the address on USCIS. Anyone has experience moving states in the midst of their I-485? I'm really hoping they don't schedule my interview in Texas!

Hi guys, I have entered America and was starting the AOS petition. I am finding the petition really confusing. Can someone please guide me? and is there is any example of the new 18 pages i485?

I honestly think you need to read the I-130 and I-485 instruction. I am sure your spouse can speak and understand English by this point. If you want to avoid delays and RFE, you must read the instruction, most of forms on the web are for the old forms, which you can't submit.

I agree with @ahas44's advice. There is also a grace period for the old forms. If you can send them all before August 25, you should be fine too.

I had one question though for those of you have received the card or have their EAD status update:

Since they produce an EAD/AP combo card now instead of separate documents/cards, shouldn't the status for the I-131 also change? I only see the change for EAD, in my case.

Yea mine didn't change but I've just received the hard copy approval for I-131.

    Here's how mine worked:

On 6/12, I put in SR to expedite. A few hours later, it said the request was assigned to an officer. A while after that it said a response was sent to me then changed to my request was completed. I got an email requesting evidence of why I needed the expedite. I faxed those over. The next day (6/13) my status TWICE changed to my expedite being assigned to an officer, a response was sent to me, and the was completed. Then it said my case was suspended while they requested the file. The next day (6/14)  it said a response was sent to me and it was completed. I called USCIS and they said my expedite was approved so has been sent to an officer to either accept or deny my application. On 6/15, my status changed to "new card being produced"

so it took 3-4 days for it be approved.

that's fast! lucky you, why did mine take so long? lol. congrats btw!

You can put in for an expedite as soon as you've completed your biometrics. And i was informed I could not do an SR for expedite until 5 days after it was last touched (so I put in 4 requests within the space of 1 month). As of today, my EAD is being produced as a result of my expedite request and I mailed my packet in May 11.

I faxed in my EAD docs 10 days ago, today my status just changed to "your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1E1521704230MSC, was assigned to an officer for response.". How long did it take  for yours to change from case assigned to card being produced?

Hi Everyone, May filer, here. I'm scrolling through to see if anyone here expedited their EAD? I'm trying to get an idea of where USCIS is with expedite requests.

I tried. Don't do it before you submit any RFE or go for your biometrics appointment, if not they won't process it. You will have to wait another 30 days before you can put in another expedite request (like me, pft!).

  8. Hey I've got the same RFE saying that the names on page 1 and page 3 did not match. I assumed that my joint sponsor used (firstname)(maiden name)(married name) on page 1, and used (firstname)(middlename)(maidenname) on page 3 - so they didn't match. I just made the corrections and resent the form.

Are you sure the names are the same on both pages for yours? If yes, then just resend the same form, they may have made a mistake.

  9. My RFE for new I-864 forms reached their PO Box today, let's hope everything goes smoothly now.

Anyway, I'm got a question. I've read people going in early for their biometrics, is that true?

Mine is on May 12th, but I'm wondering if I can walk in early.

I understand the anxiety! I have a great job lined up in August and need the EAD before that. So I hope that 3 months are enough to get it or I might loose this opportunity. I wish both of us a speedy and uncomplicated process!

Congrats on your job! I've received a job offer 2 weeks ago that starts in August too, I accepted it and I'm hoping my EAD goes smoothly too! :)

Call USCIS and tell them you have a job offer and not having your EAD is causing you severe financial loss. Also you can search the forum for similar cases and more details. Good luck!

I considered expediting my EAD, but if the job only starts in August, do you think they will expedit it?

It finally came!!! Biometrics appointment will be on May 9th right here in Austin. Happy Friday everyone!

I just received my biometric appointment letter too, mine is also in Austin on May 12th!

Anyway, I received a RFE for my I-864 dated 19/4, which was very vague in what was wrong with my forms. My bio appointment letter is dated 22/4. I guess RFE doesn't affect biometric appointments!

Hard to say: for my husband he'd been coming and going for so long he knew how things worked in America years ago. Every small achievement (like obtaining a license) was no biggie to him, since he was already experienced driving here. He says his best achievement was marrying me, but besides that I'd say landing a really good job after all the time waiting. I'm always so proud of him, so any accomplishment is wonderful to me. :)

Congrats on that!! I just moved here and I've always got some sort of phobia of driving - I'm trying hard to get my drivers license (and actually drive on my own).
