  1. That’s so true about the long distance and communication and I didn't relaize till too late. I accept we have broken up and he is not going to come back to the same situation. So I can only change me but not him if going to make it work. I took for granted.Yeah that is so true and I have been working a lot on my communication skills now and seeking help for that getting coached professionally. I was always reactive not responsive and little empathy and not showing composure which I know now is fundamentals of a relationship. Yeah the communication was broken and I see now on my end. Not that he was perfect or putting him on a pedestal. I have begun to make changes. I know this is a new age approach I went down after it ended, but there is hope all it takes is the other person to change their mind. Emotions change with time. I accept the breakup happened and it's real.  Change takes time and consistency. He may not go back but I cant atleast try.

After the breakup kind of went down a new age approach which everyone is different.

Everyone has a different approach and views.

  2. Thanks spoke to the consulate explained what happened. They can hold till end of the year they said. We used to see each 1-2x a month and he came here a few times. So yeah US/Canada we are like 500 miles apart. Easy to get to, It’s just kind of like back to square one right now not with the visa, But the feelings.  But the process of rebuilding the connection. I think on his part was more cold feet and worried about the process of being the supporter.

Thanks for your story were you broken up for long? Did they grill you more in the interview?

It’s been 3 months now. He is slowly talking again but it’s not daily communication. But small steps at a time. I told the consulate I don’t want to get back together in 5 minutes and another breakup happens. I want to fix what needs to be fixed.

  3. Thanks for your reply and I understand they would be scrutinizing more but just got to be honest what happened. I’m sure they understand

He ended as didn’t feel the connection. In 3 months we have had literally few calls and texts. Trying to rebuild connection as I know it’s being blocked by negative emotions.

So if we managed to get it all reconciled if we applied for second k1 would a letter of explanation be required what happened the first time.

Do they send back the original petion to the petitoner?

The consulate is about to cancel it. I heard somewhere they can keep on hold in 4 month blocks?

  4. My ex fiancé (Petitioner) broke up with me 3 months ago in December after 14 months together. The consulate had it on hold. I have been working on what I broke the relationship my attitude and how I brought myself but there has been slow progress and improving myself in all ways to be the best I can be. Sought therapist help and all.  I do want to get back together eventually and know that will take a lot time and work and could take months or even a year to show my changes and I’m prepared to wait and patience. What happens if we are able to reconcile down the road. Has anyone been in this situation? How does the second round go for K1? Cause of the breakup will it be seen as suspicious if we get back together? In normal process of life that happens. Slow progress is better than no progress. Been trying to heal and I don’t want the old relationship back. I would hope to build a new relationship with the same person.

We got to the step of just before the interview in Montreal was to be in Feb. We broke up in December. When the consulate cancels it, is it kept at the NVC?

  5. On the i-134 form question 7

My fiancé is currently not employed but receiving VA benefits 90% he’s trying to fill out the i-134 form which is above the 125% of the poverty line

He got out of the military in May this year and the payments started in June

for I derive annual income : does he put what was on the last return or what he now receives from the VA the next 12 months as income

the question I am employed I guess I leave blank as at present he doesn’t have a job just receiving the payment from VA

  6. Hi I am an Australian citizen but my k1 interview will be in Montreal as living in Canada the past few years. For my Australian police cert is the full disclosure enough from the Australian Federal police? or are finger prints required. I know for my Canadian one I had to get full check and fingerprints. I already received my the Australian Federal police cert with full disclosure a few weeks ago.

  7. my fiancé the USC is now out of the military within the last 9 months after 5 years of service. silly question but do I need to take a copy of his military records to the interview in Montreal? or that is not required.

Also at the present he is searching for a job and had other jobs here and there since out. but he moved back to his home state recently and is getting 90 percent monthly payment from the VA which comes to more than the 125% line.

Will letter from USAA with the date opened the account, last 12 months of deposits and current balance be enough. They sent a letter online to him. Also does the letter have to be signed? as the closest USAA now at the moment is 2 hours away from him.

    So will the

USAA bank letter with the date account opened,12 months of deposits and current balance

last 3 years of turbo tax statements be enough(trying to obtain the transcripts from the IRS)

A letter from the VA with the monthly payment start date

    the I-134 form

be sufficient or is there something else we should provide. Just worried about the support documents as no current employer but he does get the VA payment for life. Is there something else we should get from the VA?

Sorry just trying to be prepared for the interview which is in a month

  8. The second letter of intent

What is put for the address the USCIS address or the consulate

Is it both the petitioner and the beneficiary or just the petitiner for new letters of intent

Should it have more detail than the original or be the same? I have read some posts to stated that how have maintained relationship since filing i129-f.

Any advice what as to what others put

  9. Hi

I received packet 4 and registered on November 18th 2016. Have been checking every day and a few times a day sparsely. Still says no appointment for Montreal at this time.

Does anyone know when they release appointments and will the next block of appointments be for January 2017. I was away visiting my fiancé for 10 days so couldn't check it as much as I would do at work. Has anyone else around this time receiving packet 4 been able to make an appointment after regiister on the site? Do you think there could be a glitch with the system? Do they generally release appointments in business hours or can be at any time. Any feedback is much appreciated. Also should I wait before scheduling a medical or would it be safe to do one for Jan 2017

    Thanks

  10. Thanks for your help and sorry

For this do I select no as no

Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?

Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents, in the United States?

    Means fiancé/fiancée, spouse (husband/wife), child (son/daughter), or sibling (brother/sister).

did you list the petitioner here?

  11. DS-160 Questions

    1.

    Fiancé/Fiancée's Address

Has anyone else had an issue where the state and zip code won’t save? Do I just enter in address line 2 then? I save it and the state and zip clear from the field

    2. Contact Person or Organization in the United States Will be my Fiancé

Do I put US petitioner or other? For relationship

    3. Intended date of travel? Do I put the date of when I plan to move after all going well the visa being approved. I have some trips planned between now and interview. Can I file it now the ds-160 and then do the trips or best to wait? Does that make a difference to do trips after filed and before the interview

    4. Petition/receipt number is that the number from USCIS or the one NVC provided?

  12. Have been advised petition has left the NVC and on the way to the consulate in Montreal

Have some questions. I have read Montreal is slow with sending the packet 3 and trying to prepare for that.

    1. When can I send the packet 3 via email the ds160 form, checklist signed and dated and the passport bio page? I have read somewehre when it says ready.
    2. I am not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident I do have a work permit which is valid for another 17 months in Canada so am here legal status. Do I send a copy of that with packet 3 email to show legal status in Canada?
    3. I am an Australia citizen use my Australian passport for everything. But I also have dual citizenship with Ireland I never use that passport only got it if I ever went to Europe. but read on the ds160 form do I need to send that too that just bio page as well as my other passport

For my Australian passport to Montreal?

    1. What is the most current version to download of packet 3 checklist to e-mail to Montreal.

I know it’s a mix Australian citizen in Canada on a work permit with a also an Irish passport who is now engaged to a USC.

  13. At the stage between the NAO2 and the NVC. Looking to start gathering the forms such as police certifcate and the petitioners bank and tax details details. I know the interview in Montreal probably would be for another 2-3 months I’m guessing as an approximate. Is it better to wait closer to the time to gather these items so they have dates closer to the interview time?

Just like to be prepared but also don't want to do them too soon.

  14. Have received NAO2 and waiting for the NVC to receive the petition. once the NVC and Embassy receive the petition. Preparing for packet 3. When sending back packet 3 are the documents on the checklist emailed or mailed back via express Canada post? Is it just the d160 thats sent. What documnets are sent back via packet 3. Are they sent via packet 3 and also same documnets brought to the embassy?
sorry for the question just wondering as reading conflicting info.

  15. Ok so mine is a bit different. I am from Australia I have lived in Canada for 2.5 years now on a legal status. I can obtain the Canada police check for the K1 visa. With Australia I have one from last year in October

2015. I haven’t lived there since March 2014. Do I need to get another police cert from Australia or can I use the current one I have dated October 2015 or should I get another one with a more recent date? I know the Canadian one ill get now cause I live there. For Canada is the police name check enough the one you get from the Toronto Police station? As I live in Ontario.

    Thanks

  16. My fiancé the petitioner is a veteran and receives disability payment monthly it's more than the amount required of 125% percent of the poverty line but he also works too. We are still in between the NAO1 and NAO2 stage. He is currently in the process of moving back to his home state soon(he got out of the military within the last year but still stayed around that area) to where we will both eventually live once all is approved. which will mean in the iinterm him quitting his current job and finding a new one once he moves. As he receives this disability payment. will that be enough for the support i-134 form. I know we still have time for him to get moved and settled before the interview/I-134 form is required. Will we need a cosponsor in this situation and what kind of evidence/statement of payments from the VA have others shown as this disability is tax free from the VA?

    Thanks
